its somwewhat of a different means to get resources.
but its still somewhat balanced due to the fact you

1. cant guarantee what ull get and in what quantities
2. have to scoure the land at nighttime which adds a layer of risk
3. have to fight said patrolls
   and 4. still have to put time into it.

But not already processed ones or ones you need later, people would feel the need to skip entire parts of crafting that way / don't get some of the craft benches and just upfront grind the stuff from the patrols

For me, eh, it's both. Too processed materials (Those can still spawn up in later biomes though!) for the biome you find most of them in and too fixed in the "We're always here"-department.

But having for example wool without a loom ready feels too much in Alba

I think it’d be fun if enemies were buffed during the night time or something that would just make night time drastically different instead of your only dangers being getting “lost” or dealing with patrols of the same enemies you fight during the day. As of current writing (6 Febuary 2024) we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However, with the Enshrouded being in early access and the fact that a LOT of things will change between now and full release, we cannot guarantee that there may or may not be a major update
that requires old saves to break.

Also being that so much is changing, there is always a chance that an update may break old saves, so we recommend backing up saves regularly that you care about. As this would be something that could be the end of the world for players.

We will do our best to avoid this, and it's not something we're planning intentionally we cannot guarantee this will "never happen" either since there are a lot of unknown variables in the future.

there's two kinds of 'blocks'. one is the early access line, which nobody has access to beyond because there's nothing there. then there's deadly shroud, which is affected by Flame Level, you upgrade your flame to make the deadly red shroud recede.

I agree, they're very easy. The obstacles in spires are a bit tougher than that (though easy too), and I'd expect it to be the other way around, since spires are mandatory content, and Night Sanctums are supposed to be special and hidden. But I wouldn't want them cranked up to 11.

Here are the full minimum specs for the game though, and they can be found on the steam store page:

OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i5-6400 (2.7 GHz 4 Core) / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (3.5 GHz 4 Core) or equivalent
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (req. 6GB VRAM) / AMD Radeon RX 580 (req. 6GB VRAM) / Intel ARC A380

but even if you have more than the minimum vram, there are multiple settings from max performance to max quality for the texture resolution. at 6gb you'll pretty much be stuck at max performance, whereas higher amounts allow for higher quality.

give me a second to show you what I mean as far as texture resolution.

I don't have all the options with my GPU, but this is the "Performance" setting and the "Quality" setting side-by side:

I believe the game limits the options you have for texture resolution based on the capabilities of your GPU (or it's VRAM) as well - though I could be wrong on that.

We normally wouldn't hear anything about an update until a week or two before it's release. This one is kind of the exception purely because it was announced at Gamescom (So a specific timed event) So people have known the update is coming a lot longer than usual.
