Depends on what visuals you like the most. I like the highlands, and there are some cool ridges you can build on there that overlook a ton of the region.

But also the mountains remind me of the PNW, which I always love looking at.

Entirely personal preference. I have a base in the very start, 2 in the highlands and one in the mountains. I like them all ^^

therein lies a problem, late game, which means your magnum opus might not happen till your already possibly sick of building during that run lol

Work on upgrading your flame to at least level 2, will make your building area double the size and make it easier for you to build a floating island, oh and building area also means height.

Don't try to build big right away, there's a lot of building material to collect and items for buildings to unlock from your companions. A simple house with 4 walls and a roof is ok to start with.

It depends on what your background is. I have been playing building games as long as there have been building games. So for me it's just learning the systems in a particular game then adaptiong my designs to that. If this is your first then yopu have to learn designing along with learning the systems and limitations.

Borrow techniques from everyone you can. Look for cool things in #screenshots-and-art and try to replicate them, or even mention the creator and ask how they did it. Also, learn techniques from YT. Chiselchip is a good Enshrouded creator who does a lot of building and teaches as he goes. Then look at other builds. Sometimes it helps to copy someone elses build then start changing it so it's more to your liking. If you do that soon you will learn what you like and be able to come up with original designs yourself.

I'm pretty crap at building so the way I do it is look up step-by-step build guides on Youtube, there's quite a lot of them. Some houses I follow the build guide completely and with some I add my own flare or expand it a bit, I'm looking at what others have built and take inspiration from them, I've been looking at tips and tricks build videos on Youtube. yea, because each time steam precaching is done, the shaders have to recompile. it only helps to avoid recompiling each launch of the game

Shader pre-caching just means that depending on your setup, Steam will try to download shaders for you to make loading faster. With Enshrouded when that happens, it causes the shaders to recompile. So by turning it off, you don't find yourself repeatedly recompiling

but may things outside of game could be affecting your compiling times, most commonly real-time virus scanners that are scanning every file as they are being compiled.

Also as I understand it, not all CPU threads are made equally. Intel uses a combination of passive and active threads, where passive threads work slower than active ones. So using the same number or fewer threads, someone on an AMD CPU might compile faster

If you have to get a new one I would suggest at very least if you go with the 5060 ti, make sure to get the 16gb model, 8gb of vram is becoming increasing problematic in modern games

I use 4 of those APC type units. The ones I have do line conditioning. I'm not sure if that one linked above does or not. Though that's really only super useful for audio equipment. But I figure it can't hurt PCs too. The only things I have that plugs directly into an outlet or a power strip directly to an outlet is lamps, microwave, and the vacuum. I even put my coffee maker on a UPS. Gotta have priorities.

Yeah, Microcenter tends to have better deals than say a Best Buy or a Walmart if it's an option

Also don't overlook your local mom n pops, sometimes smaller PC stores will build their own rigs and sell them complete for less than large OEM companies will
