Like I said, people don't bother teaching their cats stuff and to protect cables (which dogs chew too btw) you can put no chew spray on them or orange oil. As for the clawing the couch, you need to have cat posts and say no to the cat everytime they look to the couch and redirect them to the scratching posts. It's just like with a puppy (except cats are litter trained by the time you will adopt them) consistency and giving them alternatives to get their energy out with

The cats I've had all required far more patience than I've had to have with my dogs lol. I always try to remember going into interactions with cats that generally unlike dogs who very much want to please people, cats see you more as an equal, and that's usually served me pretty well. I think people who don't like cats just are looking for something that will treat them with undying reverence like a dog and who might not necessarily have the mindset to interact well with an animal that doesn't worship them. But maybe that's too harsh lol

Not everyone will get that from their cats, because a lot of people aren't that patient, but like some dogs, some cats are entirely treat oriented and will listen. My three cats are told to go to their corners at treat time (so they don't steal from one another) and they all go to their designated spots. Then they all have their trick for getting their treats. Ones is just to be quite for 5 seconds cause omg that's a feat, the second ones is to reach up and tap my hand for his treats, the others' is to sit in her spot for 5 seconds before she gets her treats. It's the easiest way to make sure they don't steal from one another.

LOL I have a friend that thought cats were bad because his friends cat was a menace. He took care of my littlest one while we were moving and he fell in love with cats because she behaved. He's now a very proud cat daddy.

His cat is well behaved too because anytime something happens, he asks me how to work with her and boom, a little patience and time and she gets what she's supposed to do. The worst he had was she chewed a headphone wire before he taught her no and used some bitter apple to make her realize cables are bad lol

I think we figured out his issue in #getting-started, he hasn't completed the blacksmith quest on the new server. He just had the blacksmith selected on his old server so it was errantly showing the ability to summon him even though he hadn't been rescued.

I have heard a few tidbits about some servers having difficulty with this, and changing their enemy spawn amount in difficulty settings to something else and back again fixed the issue for them.

well, that's not technically accurate. Just depends on how you aim it. Aim it higher, and due to the way gravity and inertia work, you'll have something going in an arc - the difference at this point is probably more to do with distance, where the ballista will need a longer distance to get the same weight up and over a set point than a catapult or trebuchet 😛

Ectoplasm shards are easily to get by just killing and looting in the respective Hollow Hall, Flintstone is always easy to get by, tar can be mass produced and regular rock isn't hard to come by either.

Hot take: blink sucks.

Dodge Blink looks really cool and gives me awesome fable nostalgia …. But it is sub optimal. Without the attack / emergency blink, it is the same as a regular dodge roll. With the blink attack, you auto roll right into enemy attacks and take damage. Sure, you do a little damage, but it is pretty small compared to just tanking the attack and using a primary weapon. You could just dump those points into con and take the attack for the amount you have to invest. Regular dodging provides better control in every direction and better i frames. Just my experience, your mileage may vary.

used to have a full upstairs with a staircase and furniture and all that and now its just a weird empty husk.

well a bunch of the buildings are interchangeable, we call them "whitebox" buildings

and when we re-scatter assets during big updates, they basically get back into the shuffling box and often some other building of a similar size gets drawn instead

unless they've been modified as a unique building because of a quest or something

I'll admit, Enshrouded never struck me as a server-based game.

Depends on what you mean by that. To me, it's the perfect server-based game. I can self-host a server instead of being forced to rely on company provides server, or worse, rent one, and I can use it to play the game coop with my friends. It's everything I look for in a multiplayer game

Normally you see a special crosshair on the enemy. Then you use the same shortcut u normally use to hook yourself onto a platform or swing over a pit.

It's not redownloading. Check the bars, the green is network (what it's downloading) and the blue is patching (what it's being applied to). A lot of updates will patch the full game even though the download is only a gig

Not food, but there are the Miner, Mason & Quality Gear perks that increase the amount of damage your pick does to any stone objects/resource vein, gives a chance to get an extra resource whenever you mine one & reduces durability loss by 50%. Those perks make resource gathering less of a chore.

*Every resource is pretty accessible and reasonable, however, the amount of Black Powder needed to craft the Explosive Arrows II is extremely excessive, to a point it's not worth crafting. It took all day to craft enough Alchemical and Nitrates, in addition to the craft time on a single Black Powder to make 100 arrows. You need 5 Black Powder to craft only 25 shots. I can craft over a thousand in the same amount of time of the level 1 variant and just using a fast bow.

*All magic containers should be accessible from a single menu with a search function similar to Space Engineers. Running back and fourth all over the place isn't game breaking for me, but very tedious. A lot of games such as No Man's Sky choose not to do this. idk if it's a complicated system to make, but just thought I'd share my opinion since there's a ton of resource/inventory management needed in the late game.

I had the same issue (quest would not complete). I searched the channels and found a plyer who replied to someone that asked about this problem.

That player said to open the chest, DON'T take the item, close the chest, then reopen and take the item. It worked for me and cleared my quest log.

this game uses a skill web system. One of the branches of that skill web is tank focused. Most people will pair it with the barbarian (2h) and/or warrior (1h focused, which is weird since 1h can only be used with shield in current game, which in practice makes warrior a tank related tree) and/or athlete trees (hodgepodge of strength/con based utilities). By the end you'll pretty much fill out at least 3-4 of the trees and some dips elsewhere. As a person who plays a decent amount of tank in 2 player save, it's perfectly viable. There's also 'threat' mechanics, but they're not super well baked. Tanks are great at wrecking in aoe. Through 'battle heal' skill, doing crits triggers heals on your character, allowing you to passively heal quite significantly in larger groups of enemies as you'll crit a lot. Lot of the melee combat likes players triggering parrys, most easily done with shields (acting to block an attack within a second of it happening)
