What if spells were tied to an off hand item. Let's say a spellbook
And to change spells, you pushed the same button you normally would when using a staff, then cycle through a menu of available spells

I don’t know about that. With as many people who ask when the update is coming out each day, we’ll get a surge at least in the first couple weeks. I think the server I’m on has a couple thousand people so we should have a healthy group (hopefully)

Yes wands are capable for sure, and I like that you should be smart with them
I think if they do nothing else, they can change the animation of wands to not feel slow
As it is, the projectile releases at the tail end of a slow animation. If it were to release in a similar wat that water drops would, and hit things in an arc in front of the caster, it could feel better
The current animation is a swing that is out of sync with the release. Why not have no swing also, and just have the light build up as you point it at something? Then the projectile could zip toward the enemy is some satisfying way

But right now, they are still a laser pistols you wave back and forth while walking slow
I only say any of this stuff, knowing they have the talent to fix it.
