Someone tell me I'm not crazy... I played very EA Enshrouded (everything done before Hallowed Halls) and I distinctly remember mods for the game... (QOL mods like auto storage, craft from containers, etc). Just started a new play through and don't see any mods other than reshaders. Am I crazy and losing my memory?

Many of us have wondered about the multiplayer quest system, and whether it's something that's going to be fixed or whether it's deliberate (in design). This vision isn't very clear to us. Today, we rent a server, but we don't really see the point of having quests that have to be completed alone and that require the world to be reset. And that's for every player.

Certain optimisation will be doable, in terms of distance, even in non voxel games things get tuned down 'at distance' to save on resources. It's the only meaningful way of doing things if you don't want only 5k computers running games.

Well, I really loved Conan for the construction, but I played it ultra modded so I cant tell for the vanilla experience.

The game itself was bad imo. Broken animations, idiots bots... Even the map was weird.

In TU there is alot of ingame items and models,
But: we also get 'canvas', which are primitive shapes like cubes, triangles, spheres, wedges, toruses and so on - and we can put any texture/image on them and drag/shape them as huge or small we need.
So can create any shape, make our own walls, fields, roofs, ceiling and so on

• so there is no 'style' to be limited to sorta

Hey! there isn't such thing as public enshrouded API, right? wanted to build something but the only way of doing it rn is scrapping a wiki 😐

there is not even an ingame (for players atleast) console, and theyve yet to fix a chatwindow

Since I get kinda anxious whenever I try to get into technical gameplay I wanted to build a chatbot that would help me think about optimal in-game mechanisms, for example, I would type that I need a small farm that would get me 100 fax pretty quick, then it would calculte given the information it has about how long the fax takes to grow, farming, soil, etc. and would kind of give me an execution plan. Or maybe if I want to build 10 medium magic chests, it would give me a report of all the materials i need in total.

But still haven't consolidated the idea, maybe it would work also as a more general chatbot about anything you want to know from the game

Yeah totally agree, I would only need the api for the initial data download and would only use it again for updates but most importantly is that it would be an official source of truth. Also I was thinking more about creating a web tool rather than a mod, so fetching data constantly wouldn't be an issue. Yeah it's kinda hard to really explain the idea when it's on my mind only. What about this, imagine I have the idea of building a farm but it has specific:

"I want to build a farm that has many floors with a production of 100 fax, 50 Chamomile, 150 strawberries. Given that, I also need a recollection workflow that is optimal so I don't lose much time creating the seeds I need and saving them in chests"

Then it reasons with the data and sees if what im asking for is possible given all the necessary information. Then it would just tell me ALL the details about what I need to do, how to build, where to place chests, etc.

But extrapolate this to whatever complex mechanism idea you have, imagine you just need a mega-production base with optimal workflows to produce all sort of stuff, it would think with the requirements you give and the data it has to come up with a solution.

yeah that's what the data would be for, so it's trained on it and only uses data from the official source of truth.

It's also more a thing of UX, it's not the same thing searching trough a wiki or trough a static calculator than having a natural-language companion. You get the same data from both most likely but with natural langauge you can interact with it, morph it, iterate trough it, and even improve it yourself.

I think that's the best way to see it, it's more like an improvement and optimization on the user experience and thought process rather than an innovation

Is it, that we can just continue our world, after the Update?
Or does it reset our world and we have to start from the bottom again?

Enshrouded Server & Character Wipes

As of current writing (6 Febuary 2024) we do not have any plans to force wipes at any time. However, with the Enshrouded being in early access and the fact that a LOT of things will change between now and full release, we cannot guarantee that there may or may not be a major update
that requires old saves to break.

Also being that so much is changing, there is always a chance that an update may break old saves, so we recommend backing up saves regularly that you care about. As this would be something that could be the end of the world for players.

We will do our best to avoid this, and it's not something we're planning intentionally we cannot guarantee this will "never happen" either since there are a lot of unknown variables in the future.

REMINDER THIS IS AN EARLY ACCESS GAME.

Your world wont intentionally be reset or anything, you're welcome to continue when the update comes out. However, we do not yet know if there will be anything in earlier areas or such, so from that side it's up to you and your friends if you want to start again or not.
