By default I believe quest progression is set to "personal" - but not 100% sure about that.

You can see whether or not you are set to personal or not by looking in your quest log where it says "missed embervale quests" if it says "(active)" it menas you have personal quest progression on, if it says "(Inactive)" it means it's off. Every player has this setting and can toggle it either way on a server or co-op game.

To toggle it, click on the words "missed embervale quests" and you should see a window come up to the right with the option near the bottom that says X Acivate Personal Progression or X Deactivate personal progression.

Areas within flame altars shouldn't be impacted by world changes/resets, even updates, so if that happened with the melodies of the mire update it might be helpful to take a look at your save file

I mean, my girlfriend rebuilt exactly a ruin that was:

1. Near an flame shrine
2. Had a scavenger village nearby which matron got just deleted at some point (or I was too often to visit her and killed her finally)
3. Then the Hollow Hall got carved into the mountain and several other things moved - which make some of the stone shrooms float now midair
   But hey. I've seen plenty terrain issues lately... Got used to it.

And once I removed the altar then put it back a few mins later... the 3 goats and bees had come back.. I have been there for months and never had the goats or bees ever come around.

Grounded is peak story, survival, and combat and no one can convince me otherwise
Enshrouded is just so much more than I expected it to be at this point in development
No Man's Sky is great but gets old
Smalland is just a super dumbed down grounded. It has its differences but not nearly enough and fewer still for the better
Valheim Ive only played once or twice and is way to grindy. Its worse than Ark solo grinding.

For example.
At which height is it 0? We got the sky and underground. The edges of the map are either way up in the height because mountains or deep down because river depths.
Not to say, the map is a vertical rectangle, not for example a flat 64x64 km² into every direction.

well damn !!! i was taking items from my home chest before going out to check a location on map and i selected from my frontbar, the powerful grenade slot and KABBOOOMMM - my house has big hole in middle and my chest is gone, so... i extinguished my flame base. i will just use my other 7 flames across the map until new updates and quests are released by keen.

I really wish there were a sort of non-combat state, where you could sheathe weapons and LMB would first have to unsheathe weapons before attacking. Even using an empty slot or a slot with stone on the hotbar, I keep punching my house.
