I never ever sleep right. I usually sleep too long, can't sleep on time, and today I go back to work, went to bed at 11 thinking I'll get up at 7, have my 8 hours and can log on for work at 8. Wakes up at 4:30 with a cat purring on my face.

The server says 'we save your files, but not your mysql database' anyone know which file the sql is stored in in the folders? I'll back it up myself but their file names are kinda undescriptive.

I did think about that, but there's not enough players. Usually games only use sql servers for username/login/character/payment info, etc. Or really old MMOs like Lineage II used them for literally everything, made it easy to make your own server.

Holy crap, Novell. Whew boy. My whole summer internship more than 15 years ago, before the Navy, was spending a summer at a school district removing -every- bit and piece of Novell switch/server/phone from the schools and replacing everything with Cisco and new desktops in the computer labs. The town didn't even have a real infrastructure, so when they came to run fiber to connect the lines and put in the T3 switch we had to help on the truck with the fiber spool with the utility guys. It was fun.

It managed to do extremely well, even though it launched so soon after Palworld. Every update since has been substantial and impressive. I'm often genuinely surprised by how big the new areas feel.

Well if you are talking about died from deadly something it might be the shroud. Was it red? if the shroud area is red then that means you have to upgrade your alter to get past it. Its a way the game keeps you in the area's for your level.

Ya you will need to upgrade your alter to get past that... its just to keep you in the right area for your Q and lvling. You can upgrade your alter by clicking on it, it will show the mats you will need. Each upgrade takes diffrent mats that will be found in the area you are playing in right now.

All the plants have different phases. For the plant to give berries it has to show the berries on the plant itself, even if it does show berries it may only give one instead of several, as there are two phases of the berry plant that have berries on them.

Also the soil you get from the homestead is not the "best" soil. there is another soil you can make from the farmer - "Fertilized Farm Soil" - that will decrease the time it takes to grow substantially.

Its the risk with all Early Access games. And many games I would love to see done arent yet.

But they have to weigh the small team factor of completion time vs no profit. And Early Access gives them that higher ceiling to continue.

So I guess bottom line, if a probably year plus more off from completion game isnt something you enjoy typically. Then wait. Dont force it.

We don't know that for sure Ellis, only thing we got to see us not moving at the map anymore after entering. Secondly, the first thing we use is a teleporter, which could also function als instance entrance.

Hello Guys. I have done a huge mistake. I have rent a server to G-portal at the start of Enshrouded. I paid only for 1 month and after that, I totally forgot to backup my save file. there is no solution to get my save back, so now Im looking if someone is sharing a backup just before the last biggest patch (North part unlocked)

Update: After I logged out to get some things done around the house, when I logged back in, the shroud was gone. Strawberries were still destroyed, but no shroud. Could it be an over-time thing? This is on a dedicated server that I self-host.

Update is kinda lackluster, a few dozen building items, 3 outfits and some songs, new biome isn't really a biome imo, love the game regardless but I felt we'd get more than 30min of gameplay added with stronger enemies and more character progression but update was more like a side quest imo

I guess that is up to taste. I am totally in love with the new forest sub-biome (they did state it's not a completely new biome, which will take several months to release). For a small-ish update this is plenty content imo. I felt they really fleshed out the new area and made it really aesthetically pleasing. Of course I am more of a builder than someone seeking out the next combat challenge. To me, the combat is just gating the building content, which leaves me pretty satisfied with the update.

Depends on what you are looking for. If you are having a bug or issue with the game you type F1 or escape while in the game. If you have suggestions then you can go to their suggestions page. There is no real place set aside on the discord where the devs are sure to get your feedback, and those are the designated channels for communication.

I agree with the overall idea, but usually it takes a proof of concept mod developed by a community member for the game developers to realize their game needs this mod in the base game. In other words modding communities are great places for innovation and creativity that in some cases can far exceed the imagination of the dev team and even the content output. A lot of ideas not in line with the game could be developed for players to individually enjoy also.... which isn't covered by 'it could just be put into the game by the devs'.

In this case, though, Keen is asking for player recommendations and adding them into the game. No need to have the mods show a stubborn or distant developer what their game needs or what the community wants. 🙂

Pretty much half of this first roadmap is all player suggestions.

AND they have already added many of them - The workshops crafting from magic chests, better stacking, sitting on furniture, Round doors/windows, Vanity system.... and more. xD

that's true, still in this approach things could be missed, or prioritized low enough that they never get added since there is SO much that was suggested. I am not suggesting there is a need for mod support today, but after 1.0 release it would be worth considering imo because it really does have a lot of benefits for games if done right.

As I said, they are already considering it, but having their own engine has many upsides, this is one of the downsides. Linking in Mod support may either be too difficult or it may have to use a language that modders aren't familiar with using and not be worth the trouble.

At this point in development, "priority" is what can be done with the game where it is. It may not seem like a logical progression, but perhaps adding weather is fairly simple and can be done by one or two people on the side while adding new levels requires a lot of people, since you are talking about quests, items, zones, etc.

imo weather is one of those things that are fun the first time, the first 10 times, the first 100 times, but eventually you don't want to deal with it anymore. unless there is more game mechanics tied to it, like in planet crafter - bad weather drops resources that you need, and so you sometimes look forward to a storm.

the same concept applies to base raid idea.

you need to be careful what you add in a game is always fun, and doesn't end up being a gimmick that lasts a few times and becomes super annoying.

Weather does add a certain level of immersion, and while I have never been a fan of it (generally because it usually trashes lower-tier systems) I can see how it could be a great addition to many people's immersion into the game and make the world seem a little more "real."

As a followup to this morning's question about the shroud seeming to encroach outward, the issue seems to be client specific over time. When I just join the server, there is no shroud, But when a player who had been on the server for a couple hours prior showed up to meet, they saw the entire camp covered in shroud foliage and soil.
Then they logged out and right back in. No shroud.

Something I've been wondering lately. The devs say that rotating building blocks more than 45° is a problem because of the grid. If that's the case then how does the builders companion mod do it. If he can make a mod that does it then how is it not able to be in the base game. I'm not a developer and no zero about this stuff but it just don't make sense to me

My understanding is that the companion mod doesn't rotate blocks, it rotates props, which is a big difference. Unlike Minecraft where everything is a "block", Enshrouded has a concept of props that operate under different, non-grid rules. The companion mod just allows you to fully rotate props on X, Y, and Z axis, allowing for creative prop placements.

yeah the game is fairly stable, and crashes aren't an expected outcome if everything is running correctly and your system is above the recommended specs. Those instruction fix probably 80% of crashing issues.

I'm like 90% sure its my GPU since its a 1080ti, its got like 8 gigs of VRAM, but even using GeForce Experience to update still shows the "Your GPU driver is outdated. Please update for an ideal game experience." message.
