rude
yall ever just trying to chill and eat a poptart and one of your doggos is sitting inbetween your legs, tail wagging, waiting for the dog tax
I've had that happen with tuna cans
just making a salad and the sound from the aluminum tearing is met with enthusiastic meows
and all of a sudden I'm surrounded
Or when you put ur 3y daughter to sleep and sneak into kitchen and open chips bag as quietly as possible and then u hear: daddy what's that sound?
good pizza π
"it's the new toothpaste bag, daughter of mine"
My old hunting dog doesnt have a care in the world, sleeps all day but god forbit I open a bag of bbq chips and she comes running like shes a puppy
just tell her its spicy
theres currently not a roadmap with dates is there?
There never will be one because dates don't do any good
yup fair
hey @signal ocean Enshrouded is the only good early access game of late.
Would be cool if we could blueprint
Afternoon all
Not afternoon yet

lies
No rest for the wicked seems fine too ^^
Heard thatβs like dark souls
also Manor Lords looks really cool if you liked Banished
I suck at Banished but my god was that a fun game
Manor lord seems bit too early. Gona wait first update.
Tho it gives a bit stronghold vibes
Im not good at strategy/keep villagers needs in check and happy, style games ^^
But rpg, adventure, open world, explorstion games i dig ^^
I dont want a bunch of people waiting for me to feed them at home when im out is all π€
Me neither usually, the only rts/builder game I was decent at is Northgard because it was somewhat casual

Yeah those games tend to stress me, i usually get full focus on one task at the time ^^
I mean I sucked at Banished but I was quite good at Frostpunk so I think I might be decent
Farthest frontier was a really good upgrade to the genre
the name rings a bell
Not lies. That was my opinion. I was alittle angry at a different game.
well I hope you're feeling better
just gotta get used to pausing the game and setting orders for multiple things, they aren't that hard in terms of meeting objectives and winning. like i could win an AOE3 compaign, but nearly anyone who plays multiplayer can destroy me because multiplayer got no pause button lol.
my partner plays every management game like this at full speed and never pauses and I cannot fathom how she does it
(but also as a result she often struggles when crises arise because she misses the optimal reaction window)
i can normal speed some of them
but for example surviving aftermath was a new experience for me, so i had to pause a few times
sometimes i pause in rim world
sometimes you want to pause in prison architect if you are laying down plans to build a big cell block, that can take like 15-20 minutes if you are really new but also a perfectionist and trying to craft something you will like...
so better to just pause and do all of that than let the game run 20 minutes with everyone getting angry the cell block isn't built yet
I am feeling better now
hey there, enshrouded peeps π
what up
hey there! How is your day going?
I haven't played enshrouded in a bit because I needed a break. But htne I had a dream about it last night and I am thinking it is time to come back and try to build my next project
Heyo y'all
Hello.
I've got a headache. It won't go. Maybe it's just my dogs barking at everything thats walking infront of the window.
what is up
What is down?

Thanks Australia
Haha! You'll do you one better Why is down?
Time to get paradoxical.
Why, is down?
who is down?
Baby are you down, down, down, down, down?
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah-hown Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah-hown
You spin my head right round, right round like a record baby
When you go down when you go down down
I appreciate it
Good one too
What the hell
The less you ask, the more you save your sanity
Joke's on you, I've spent all of that useless stuff ages ago.

how ya doing to day Mal
I'm fine. Weather's nice, it's a calm day at work and I've not had to clean my hammer lately.

that doesn't help me tbh
actually I just found that and followed it and now my entire save worlds and characters are all gone
π
istg everything is gone
You didnβt read the instructions
i followed the instructions word by word!
Did you back up your saves?
it said they wer online in steam
but when i moved them back from the steam page they dont appear
The instructions say to turn off steam save
i did that
and then i downloaded the files from the cloud backuo
but the files from the cloud backup dont do anything
i put them in my common/Enshrouded folder and still no characters or worlds
i still have a copy of all the files
@lapis prawn #the-tavern message
π
Im sorry
i turned back cloud sync and now my worlds and characters are back
but no resource world
fuscks sake i hope they put in a creative mode at some point
You might be able to get better help in the resource thread
From what I understand you have to manually move your save from steam cloud to your local files and turn off steam cloud
why would you need to do that?
ok i figured it out y'all
Because steam cloud overwrites youβre local files from what I understand
What was it?
steam cloud just saves whatever is there
you just make a new world, find out the name for that new world, grab the resource save, rename the resource save to the name of that new world, then drag it over, and overwrite.
The helpers and other people would like to keep notes of fixes and what worked, so the knowledge can be passed along to another user with similar issues.
idk, i re-enabled cloud saving and then manually renamed files to match my new world
would not work at all without cloud save s on
Ah good to know
Well Iβm glad you figured it out
i never had to mess with steam cloud to load a resource world
lucky u i guess
Idk but everything Iβve read from it talks about turning it off
when you're overwriting files steam cloud doesn't care, if you're placing new files it's different
thats typically the rule of steam cloud
I donβt use resource saves tho so Iβm unfamiliar with it
But I keep up with the thread
ok nope
If you ever turn on steam cloud again, back up all files in both SavedGames and Remote folder, just in case steam cloud overwrites the new data with old data.
didnt work LMAO

Also, this may be better in #troubleshooting
resource world INFO is saved but cloud over-wrote the actual world map
honestly?
im gonna say f it anduninstall
π€
i'll come back when the games has more content

make a new world, enshrouded has a code thats the same for everyone, first world is always named the same. second world is always named the same etc. go into the new world, and exit the game after. if your world is named ABCD4 by enshrouded then copy and paste your resource world over the world you just made keeping the name the same - ABCD4. steam cloud won't care. i've done it like 6 times, no issues.
probably needs to be done in cloud save folder and not local save folder
how many files should be updating in the userdata/1203620/remote folder?
on world exit i mean
Enshrouded's iron looks like black liquorice and it makes me want some.
contrary to some of the opinions here, it's highly suggested by the devs and those of us that helped research the save system minidumps that using cloud is bad when you're working with any saves outside of your own. it's safer and easier to turn off cloud and use the local folder. that's why there's a lengthy guide by @fringe gyro to help with the issues of lost or corrupted files. as great as the backup system is, it has problems of its own.
the safest method is to turn off cloud, use the local files (saved games) for resource world use.. or you can join one of the resource world servers if you don't want to mess with your game files
ok
#server-faq message also a location of the save files here
the last world you were in would probably be time stamped with latest time, maybe show screenshot of the saves, also size of the world matters
since worlds are given the same name, we could probably tell which world has the name of being the 4th created world
my Fort Resource, Wulfic's Mall, and sometimes the PRW have hosted servers to avoid world save issues if you just need the items
Can post in #screenshots-and-art
all of these files updated on world exit:
*c4
*c4_info
*c4_info-index
*c4_index
*characters-2
*characters-index
*7d_info-3
*7d_info-index
*7d-2
*7d-index
looks like somehow it's saving 2 worlds at once
what the actual frick
it does that while you open the game.
So if it shuts off immediately it sort of saves as much as possible.
idfk man
files(x86)/steam/userdata/steamuserid/1203620/remote (this is the cloud save)
this is cloud save location
i just dont care anymore
this is dumb
im gonna go play Destiny
i literally just wanted to help my brother build a castle
that's it
_<
the files you wrote are not related to world saves
so i don't know what you're doing lol
tbf, doesnt work with this attitude to begin with, you expect to not invest time, while you need to
how? the ones she listed are the world saves with the numbers truncated down to the last 2 digits..
oh okay
thank you for recognizing that lol
Wheelabout, Valourant, CyberCrank, and Shade, thanks for taking the time to explain all of this.
i deal with helping people handle my Fort's world file a lot, easy to notice lol
it's too much hassle for me to shut off cloud saves to restart all worlds and see what the name order is
but i figured out before that everyones first world is given the same name, and second world, and third world etc.
i just wish i knew what was wrong
Slot 1: 3ad85aea
Slot 2: 3bd85c7d
Slot 3: 38d857c4
Slot 4: 39d85957
Slot 5: 36d8549e
Slot 6: 37d85631
Slot 7: 34d85178
Slot 8: 35d8530b
Slot 9: 32d84e52
Slot 10: 33d84fe5
thanks
so make a third world, enter that world and exit the game after. it will be named next on that list, lets assume it's Slot 4: 39d85957... then download resource world, and rename the resource world to the same name Slot 4: 39d85957, and then overwrite that file. and your resource world will load. cloud save won't do anything to do it, at least that's how it works for me.
if the file method is still not working.. always the servers to join and grab what you need from them too
Does it work now?π«£

im playing destiny like i said

Was obsidian ore removed from the game?
yes, there were reports of users noticing it was missing a few patches ago. I believe the devs had it in game by mistake, but I don't know for sure until the map is extended and we see it again. The game will have recipes for it if it is meant to be in the game, but since it gave nothing, it was removed.
Was there obsidian in the first place?
Yeah I saw a video showing the few places it could be found but when I went there it wasnt there so I figured maybe it was removed from game
You sure?
It was used for one recipe.
there was a use? Then i am not sure why it was removed
Was used to make the Black Cauldron
So was steal at the launch and now it's gone (wasn't even in the game tho)
It was used for something but not available
i didn't think it exists, but I do not have any Obsidian ores at all. I didn't know it was in the game.
Ah, that makes sense.
Still in-game.
However it does seem like they wanted it removed lol, it's not visible you have to mine into a wall to get to it.
lol, wow.
curious, is it still needed for the black cauldron then?
You could also revisit the boss area where you first recieve it for the alchemist quest, after some time it resets ππ»
It's in the recipe to craft an additional one, however due to the resource being this rare I'd advise you to just go kill the Fell Abomination again.
aaah gotcha, thanks both π
this game isnt melee friendly. The green mercenaries are stupid
Why does everything stun me (including bee's, but when I smack a wolf in the mouth with a FAT hammer they're like nah that didnt even hit me ) Tank build btw, just feel like theres not enough for the melee players..
Been playing with my fiance (we just found the game) about to clear the last hallow, but 75% of the stuff we find is for long range players.. Like throw me a bone... LOL
good morning gang
we're gonna give melee builds some love in a future update
and the green scavengers are everyone's nemesis forever, if that helps
Wazzzup.
not much, prepping content for today and tomorrow, since it's a bank holiday in most countries
armored scavenger is imo a little less of an issue because while he's still an incredibly tough opponent, by that stage in the game normally you have more tools at your disposal to dispatch him
Lemme keep one as a pet and Iβll make it worth your while
is it a pet or a prisoner if they are never allowed to leave the cage?
Not sure
I hope it's money you're talking about.
Give em more moves, power and more armor β€οΈ
I'm gonna give them a GUN
Finally
hope the gun is a gattling gun
Or holy grenade, when explodes, shoots out little CUBs that do extra damage
They get 2 rocket launcher
Anyone knows if there is a limit to how often you can post in #screenshots-and-art ?
Anyone know when Enshrouded will be available for console?
There's a 30s slowdown in that chat
If it comes then not before 1.0
What are the next update is planning to be? the new biome? :D?
Iirc mostly server focused stuff and a sub biom according to the AMA
wdym by sub biome
They haven't specified more
no no i mean like
whats the different between biome and sub biome
Biom is something totally new like mountains and sub biom would be just a different part of a existing biom
oh ok
I know im not the first person to say it. I wont be the last person to say it. But i really want greatswords in this game lol
And they might be coming at one point
Actually I find a mage with a wand and a shield these guys are a piece of cake (everything is really). Just block with shield and spam wand a few times while backing up. It's almost humiliating to them.
I use a ward for a shield too
That build destroys basically everything that doesn't have a shield and your durability
Well it's not really a build as much as a technique. I use staff for long range and ward+wand for close range. You have more than enough points to spec into the Battlemage tree for wand bonus
Wand+shield is a build, you don't need much more to make the game a joke
Yeah that is true
Just something I learned to do after getting my butt handed to me too many times trying to use staff at close range
a joke, how harsh
Well you can basically block and attack at the same time resulting in barely taking damage
Heyo, have a nice day y'all ππ»

you gon attract the nearest nerf bat Sophia
Fireball?
shroud meteor
Never used that
makes big holes
So it's a drill
in a way
Medieval drill sounds about right
lol π
Hello together was the way how quest work for a server changed?
Whta I mean is, is it stil lserver sided or character sided?
it's still the same
for now
the changes are currently slated for update 2
Thank you! Cant wait to finally share this amazing game with my friends
I was playing on an unlocked server yesterday and they had chest with stacks of 1000000 of each building item. how can I make my stacks bigger?
Someone on reddit said that the this discord also had files you can download with all the resources so you can be a builder not a farmer π
you need mods id assume.
Only way to make stacks bigger is with Cheatengine
be careful though, we've already had to fix some bugs due to Cheat Engine blowing stack size beyond what they're meant to be
All I know is there are resource servers and weapon mod servers - I found a bow in a chest on one "Silvershot Bow" level 80 with 41255 power
makes sense. I see now that there are actual resource servers out there and the stacks are huge LOL
yeah they're fine until they're not... and well, because mods aren't officially supported, we're not aiming to fix those
keep in mind the "do it at your own risk"
makes sense.
I love the game - I came from years of playing 7DTD and modding it. Mods for stack sizes, game speed, grow speed, dmg multiplier and weapon mods, would be awsome!
years ago I made the Van Helsign crossbow with 100 shots and a scope, it was great
I can see why the lvl 80 bow with ridiculous power would catch your eye lol
also downloading pre-built buildings would be nice π
thanks for all the info
Back to IRL stuff - need to swap out my 18" to 20" all terrains on my golf cart today
and adding LCD screens to the back of the mud guards
maybe a nice fluffy wheel cover
Hello.
I honestly saw something else when you typed lcd
My cousin did 3 lcds and he had to be hospitalized
Those Localization Concubine Distributors really hit different.
she's not amused
I resent your gif privileges.
there's got to be some upside to having to endure all of you
any word on upcoming stuff?
In like 5-6 weeks next big update should be coming from what I've gathered this will include revamping the quest system to favor groups play
And obviously add a bunch of other stuff I just don't know about

5-6 weeks π©
its hard for someone whos finished the game rn
i just wanna play the game again but theres nothing to get me to play
it does take time to change the coding.
i dont think its easy but like, still, its rough right now
Or you can start a new world and new character, all from scratch again
π€’
Just come back to it play another game in the meantime
...ok not ideal...
i wouldnt mind that but its just that the world is always the same, aside from loot drops ofc, so i feel like i wouldnt enjoy it as much
just gotta wait for the devs to finish cookin' i suppose
well yea- but like damn bro there hasnt been much since launch, the dungeons are neat and all but like what is that really?
I mean compared the content and promises that's already been fulfilled compared to other EA games. I think this game is doing a fine job.
I'm looking forward to explore the snowy mountains and build my cottage.
a point of contention for me with this games development is the devs said they plan on leaving EA by the end of this year, or roughly a year after release and if thats the case they arent on track to reach that goal as of now
me too, the first thing i tried to do was go to those mountains lol
the maps is like what... 1/3rd finished, if even that. and all we've gotten in the past 3 months is not even really technically new areas just new locations
You really think so? Have you seen the roadmap they released? With this past content update they completed a GOOD amount of content in that roadmap already π
did they? i didnt really notice much that caught my eye tbh, it was mostly the stuff they said will come later
There is that sneaky red line getting in the way.....
i shed a single tear π₯²
Yea from my understanding they pushed out alot of stuff on the map ( crossed out ) and I'm sure with this next one in few weeks they will cross out alot more
Seems like this team is not one to push out updates every few weeks with very little content to stay up float
Which is good
idk i dont agree with that assessment, the dungeons dont seemm like much of a significant hold-me-over type update i was hoping for, the new items n stuff is cool and all but like, is it gonna make me play another 100 hours and build more settlements? not really
i would prefer smaller monthly updates at this point and save the larger content for big updates i dont get it
why wait like 3-4 months with a BUNCH of highly requested smaller features and then like a few major additions
just give people somethin to keep them going
Here's the thing about the dungeons.
They only created these due to "complaints" from the community of the game being too easy correct. That means whatever they had planned before hand got pushed back for these dungeons
yes and no.
personally i dont try to just focus on one game for a 1000 hours.
theres so many games out there just go play something else for awhile.
well think of it like a book or something, you dont just stop reading a book half way and go read other books for a while, i wanna finish this book
Having fewer bigger updates is better for bringing in new players and returning players to play an update
Hey everyone new to the game about 14 hours in two days. if the Devs read this - Please keep going, you truly have something special here.
Well you can't finish a EA book can ya
ya but then you create schmucks like me who are like "WHERE IS UPDATE"
What lvl are ya
the updates will come when they come. if its mot fast enough then maybe join the team.
no ur god damn right i cant π€
It comes start of June
you're free to play whatever you want till then
well no thats not acceptable, they promised out of EA within a year and im holding them to it
After I reached lvl 25 on my first character. I still have uncompleted quests to do and...there are. Spots of the map I have avoided because blue bbq chicken instant peck me to death...
its not a book. its a game. very different.
but to humor this. think of it more like a web comic or a novel series.
level 6 atm. been exploring, learing about the different mechanics and just started to work the with building last night.
They aim for it nothing is promised
i wont. sounds too ambitious to me.
well if they DONT release in a year then im just gonna feel super mislead either way
Wanna play later? I'm about lvl 7 or 8 last time I checked
That's up to you for taking them too literally
The person I used to play with hosted the world so I lost all my materials :(
That's you taking stuff out of context you thinking they promise that year when they said there aiming for it
yeah totally my fault for belevining in what the creators of the game say π€ͺ
Since when is aiming = promising?
With game devlopement I anticipate 1-3 years at minimum.
why are gamers so ungrateful?
i mean promise, aim to, they said it
semantics
Entitled people
You sound like a child throwing a fit because mommy said she would THINK about getting you candy but decided not to
exactly. so maybe get over yourself and learn patience.
okay were getting to the point where im entitled because i want the EA game to release before i die? great
It's not like I have waited 10 years for a new game in one of my favourite franchises
you 90 years old son?
a year or two of developement is super fast in comparison.
You paid for a EA title buddy all I gotta say
holy f-k the entitlement is strong with this one.
Interesting that youβre dismissing something as semantics while overemphasizing βEAβ vs full release, which itself is a mostly semantic distinction. They could literally just stop calling it EA and say itβs full release whenever they want lol it makes no actual difference, whatever content is available, thatβs whatβs available whether itβs labeled EA or not
youre new to early access arent you.
yea bro they SAAAAAID they aim for one year release, so its my fault for not just assuming "well they say 1 year but itll probably be 5" like no man thats not how that works, i get u love this game but dont just like blindly cope
I sympapthize a little with Charmeleeon, but only because if they publically state a goal, we as consumers should hold them accountable to that goal within reason.
google the word aim or something. i dunno.
Heyo, seems you mistake Early Access with Live Support, thats not the same π
and my only actual complaint is 1 year release date is dubious and somehow that means im entitled, like alright bro
A goal is not a commitment.
id refund this game rn if i could calling me entitled, i hate that so much
I don't think our plan has ever been to attempt to provide hundreds of hours of content with each update. We're not trying to be Destiny, neither do we have the hundreds of devs it'd take to actually follow up with this kind of content
give my money back i dont wnat this game anymore
Them wanting to have this done by a year from release was always a bit lofty, so letting it slide up to a year and a half or so seema reasonable.
theyll release 1.0 one month behind schedule and bro will throw a fit.
okay but u wanna release the game in a year, you need to actually make content
i feel mislead by devs saying "one year release maybe" like wtf is that, obviously thats not happening
can i have a refund?
True, they are behind pace on content to reach that goal.
And I'm sure that's what's bee happening for weeks now. And more to come I'm sure next update will provide lots of content lol
If you feel misled then you misunderstood the general concept of early access and how that works in reality.
heck. if its 2 years ill commend them. ive seen countless EA games never finish.
Thats exactly what is happening and needs time, shorter updates means small enjoyable content for the people playing it actually, but that doesnt finish the game at the end
a year timeline is what they think they can accomplish, they are a much bigger dev team than valheim, 50+ developers here, and we don't know how much they've done behind the scenes, for all we know 75% of the map has already been completed, but they released the first 25% of it in the EA release. given the past update, i think they can get out the content they say they can in the timeline provided, and if it takes another 2-3 months it's not that much different.
I think this relates to them shifting focus on the dungeons because of community complaints being too easy must have pushed back some things
Early access should be understood to mean βpurchase at your own risk because we are specifically telling you this is half bakedβ
theres no way theyre finishing the whole map in a year considering they havent even added anything to in in the first quarter of a year, like its not hard to see that imo

π₯Ή
based on what?
decent try though I'll give you that
Perhaps, but honestly I think they are behind pace to reach even 1.5 or two years if they aren't dropping a biome in June.
based on that the map is MASSIVE and again, they havent ADDED anything to it... so what the plan is to just release the entire map in like december 29th?
how do you know what they've done? are you behind them right now?
yes they did the dungeon update
thats it
how do you know that's all they've done?
okay, thats all theyve actually released though
and they dont talk about anything upcoming at all
I feel like I need to point out the Hollow Halls are part of the map
like, they're underground, but they're definitely part of the game world
If the don't drop anything that adds to gameplay aka new biome next update then yes I'll be alittle more concerned
The game is not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with the game. Shhhh and play again lol
I think in the AMA they said no mountain biome in June π€·ββοΈ
a location on the map, not a new area and im not trying to say like "omg this isnt content" it 100% is content and they are fun, but it doesnt feel super significant in the face of what was there at launch and what is supposed to be coming later in updates
correct. Update 2 will have a min-biome, or sub biome, which will add a smaller playable area to an existing biome (no spoilers)
Honestly I'm just waiting for them to revamp this quest system for group play so I can host servers better lol
Just a wild guess, but weather & mountain biome probably comes together
they are a 50 people dev team, do you know how many hours 50 people can put into a game in 1 year? if they work 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, that is 547,000 hours. pretty sure filling in the map only takes 10,000 hours or less.
where is it then π
Mountain biome for autumn/winter would be fitting too.
if you were around during the early launch times, when the question of "1.0 when?" came out, we were very consistent in pointing out that the better the game did, the more ambitious it would allow us to be
this is still true
Don't really care about what is in the next update, juat poiting out that 1.0 in a year is clearly a dead dream.
In the nicest way possible, you have no idea how game development works lol
No teases nothing at all
We know more over that update than the last one
i mean if thats the case im down for that, like take as long as is needed, but just like say something about it π
Look for 2 years at best now, probably longer.
There's more wrong with that statement than I can even honestly address, it's all wrong
Haha
i feel like im in the dark, like i dont even know what content is coming because i didnt read an AMA post on reddit like what ????
i mean sure all 50 people wont be working on the map
but still, if you were desperate you might get your coder to do map making π
50 people is not as many as you might think when it comes to making a game
our level design team is like, half a dozen people if you count people whose primary job is something else entirely but who have contributed to level design
Morning fellers
especially how complicated the game seems on the surface
yes
i swear to god
and still if you were worried about level design not making the 1 year timeline, you wouldn't have chosen to add water or weather.. (weather being the worst choice, and uncessary, and annoying)
π«΅π» Charmeleeon set us up the bomb lol
π³
Charmeeleon is actually doing the right thing and not just bootlicking
my burning passion for this game makes me raise an eyebrow ok, i cant help it
1 person working level design, is 10k hours in a year, heck even i could pick up the level design job, and finish the enshrouded map if i have 10k hours.
im too excited for more content and i cant live with the enshrouded withdrawls tbh
and i know nothing about level design
its making me insane
Probably a decent chance, but not because we were off the mark on what we were capable of. More like what Cub said, given the massive success we've had already our scopes for what we want "1.0" to be have grown and expanded from what we were thinking before launch.
when will you add hedgehogs to the game so i can imprison them and force them to do little mazes?!!!
to be honest I genuinely do not care about the one year timeline. The game is making good progress and we'll be delivering on more roadmap items with update 2. Full launch will hit when it's ready, but given as I said before that we're now able to build a bigger and better Enshrouded, this means that "aiming for one year" was a very optimistic prospect we actually published before the game blew up during Steam Next Fest
Have you ever considered, not being pedantic and trying to stir the pot?
that embed was massive...
"to be honest I genuinely do not care about the one year timeline. The game is making good progress and we'll be delivering on more roadmap items with update 2. Full launch will hit when it's ready,
so just say that π₯Ή just make a big ole OFFICAL post and just say that
It's adall, what do you expect?
please pick up RPG maker tonight and let us know 6 months from now how your game is getting on
wow getting psychologized for believing in myself
i think most people wouldnt have an issue with longer time for release if it was just said in advance
would love to, but I'm sitting here actually able to explain things to you. On the Steam forums they'd clamor for my head on a pike within hours
i mean lol yea fair enough
I don't disagree with that. If you chose to leave the game as is and just focus on content expansion, it could have been done.
designing a whole game, vs level design, no one knows what i am capable of, so can't really claim dunning kruger effect.
we'll post updates when the entire team feels confident we can hold ourselves to such deadlines, which is why we're not even talking about a specific date for Update 2, even though it's the very next update! We just sort of know what we're aiming for
I'm glad you aren't, but also having a conversation that the timeline has shifted is good for the community.
i mean, if youre expanding the actual scope (which i hadnt even considered as being a possibility) then i can 100% understand it taking longer, like what even is 1.0 right? its just a fancy name, a game is truly never finished anyway π€
I don't believe you could do it
alright then allow me to do something you'll hate
NO
we've got really cool stuff planned that we didn't even dare put on the roadmap
because it's cool as an idea but we don't know if we can even make it happen

that's what you get for making me type so much
it's retribution
it's only fair
its only fair π
lmao thats so mean
mean but deserved
People when devs donβt talk about whatβs coming: βugh why wonβt devs talk to usβ
People when devs tell them whatβs coming but are slightly behind schedule because of scope creep, feedback, or unexpected road bumps that nobody couldβve seen coming: βREEEEE DEVS SAID ITD BE DONE BY NOW!!!!1one!!!β
Yeah we're not really intentionally withholding anything, it's more that predicting the timeline of game development that far out is extremely complicated and borderline guess work, even after you've consulted the entire team to get estimates.
And like Charmeleeon said "1.0" is an entirely abritrary metric that is essentially just when we feel it's "ready". This mythical "1.0" taking more or less time has zero bearing on the actual content you as a player will be getting in that timeframe. If you already own the game it essentially kinda means nothing.
It being extended mostly means you'll be getting more content. But we don't feel comfy giving an actual date yet because there's still a lot of unknown variables
And like Charmeleeon said "1.0" is an entirely abritrary metric that is essentially just when we feel it's "ready". i remember i said this before and everyone was disagreeing with me
yeah there's nothing worse as a CM than having to walk back what the community thought was a promise
including 1 of the helpers lol
just cause i called it arbitrary lol
in retrospect maybe arbitrary was the wrong word... not sure still.
Oh well I mean it's true, it's totally arbitrary. I mean devs set their own standards for what they want "1.0" to be, so it's not arbitrary in that regard. But saying our game is "1.0" sooner or later doesn't magically make it easier for us to develop more things or something
I don't feel like 1.0 is that mythical, you can kinda feel when a map is fleshed out and if the game gives complete vibes.
the game is complete when the community stops yelling for the next update
done.
i found the bar
Like could there always be more? Sure, but if the base loop gives a sense of completion, that is a strong 1.0 indicator.
Footage of the dev team working on the game when that finally happens
Shit no wonder itβs taking so long, yβall are working on machines from the 90s
how did his legs shrink that much, that is the more important question here lol
You'd be surprised tbh, I know a lot of games that "released" that... definitely needed more time in the oven, and vice versa there are games like project zomboid that are just indefinitely in early access despite feeling feature complete for like a decade
he made a game based on himself, enshrouded.
thats why all the people are short
New world shouldβve stayed in beta for a lot longer π
Although that probably wouldnβt have saved it anyway given that AGS are just objectively bad at running a game
project zomboid only feels that way multiplayer or modded
I think for the meme the Dwarf Fortress devs should have made the game early access on steam just because they haven't stopped developing that game for like 30 years
its actually not a great game for me personally...
NO promises.
i'd like project zomboid to open a co-op mode, and then i'd call it complete.
I HATE harvesting aloe......
similar to barony's co-op
Oh I almost forgot about my favorite example
For anyone who didn't know, Warframe is still technically in "open beta"
I think the devs are just doing it for the meme at this point, but it's funny
The Isle is still in EA and that released in 2015
dwarf fortress used to have a graphic overhaul mod that looked really good before they even added themselves to steam, and i think what they have on steam doesn't match that old graphic overhaul mod, basically the graphics still need work for me to want to get dwarf fortress..
i played DF when the graphics were all just color coded letters for everything..
Ugh ascii games, i always nope out immediatly on any game that is using hexagons in any way π₯Ά
hey. wild questioin, is the current max base size final or is there any consideration to making it bigger later on?
uh, ya.
It's not final but it's not not final either, I guess? There's no current active plans to change it, but that doesn't mean it won't change.
which is, ya, great. but right now we only have 8. so I need to be sparing.
so you're saying there's a chance!
Please change upgrading altars to use sparks
I assume this is true but I hope when we get more areas the number of bases we get at 5 and 6 flame altar level go up.
that would be nice.
Give me a reason to go to those flame shrines
although do note that the plans include "adding more altars" every so often, I think with each biome is the current plan?
I heard the final max number is 20?
definitely understand "20" as "a number we pulled out of our hats at a time when optimization was a distant problem for "us from the future""
so you're saying it could be 50 or infinite or anything higher than 20? nice.
It's 60 now?
lol
50 would be great.
Infinite altars sounds good for my PC
I'm saying if your GPU can be used as auxiliary barbecue there's a good chance having a high number of altars will do the trick
getting that bacon fat real C R I S P
to be honest, I wish max size was 200 instead of 160, I just need, a liiiitle more space. but, 160 is fine.
to be honest also, if we gave you 200 you'd argue for 220
This auto played in my mind
https://youtu.be/r-62nEPA83w?si=J3uDv3uZYVqArLWd
go check out this vid: https://youtu.be/Mw5cz2vlnfk
and sub if you would like
we both know it
you mean 240. π but i like 200. nice even number. but 160 is also logical.
Future me looking back in time every time we promise a new feature that work hasn't started on yet
That's just a heat sink
screw that future me guy though I heard he sucks
I love my avatar in voice chats because every time you speak it animates
he's coding them right now
Future you is talking shit about you. Make sure to ruin his life
Yep I'm gonna take the bathesda route and slap invisible NPCs underneath assets to make them I'm sure nothing will go wrong
booo we don't diss other studios/publishers in public boooooo
they do WHAT
I mean is it a diss if it worked
I like that the train in Fallout 3 was just a guy with a train on his head
nobody said the trains in FO3 were bad lol
WHAT
that's Half Life 2
it was in fo3 too (it was a decent strategy back in the day when everyone was crunching)
I think we need train guys in enshrouded
Its such a good strategy
HL2 is particularly funny though because they already had vehicles
Also does anyone remember the compactor scene in half life 2? Those were just reskinned trains
So many layers to the jank
wow
What are they going to do, take another six+ months just to code vehicle physics enough to do a standalone train?
(speaking for fo3)
now let's not get into game jank otherwise we'll have to explain how games manage "doors" and we will implode
EXPLAIN THE DOORS
wait nvm I am thinking of HL1, that had the compactor
Yeah it actually made sense, especially since their engine just did not support vehicles at all at the time. Would be so much work for no reason
how long do u have
more games need vehicles. why do you think halo was so good?!
moving objects in general are an absolute nightmare on most engines
Tea bags
Awww. I missed a good talk again.
alright I'm out, you guys have a good one
I'll always support a good bodge
Until tomorrow CUB
I remember when I first played the alpha for sea of thieves and I was BLOWN AWAY, I had never seen a game that so seamlessly had players interacting with massive moving objects like that before
I still don't honestly know how they did it, but a lot more games are doing it now to the point where it has become commonplace
Maybe I'll pester you more then
Discord is adding clan tags??
Oh no... That will only end up in dwarf wars
is there a simple answer to why moving objects are hard?
Because it's moving
slightly less simple? XD
xXx[FL@ME]K33nT0ast420xXx
hard to get something coded when it moves, or you have to move behind it
https://www.ign.com/articles/putting-doors-in-video-games-is-a-nightmare-say-developers
there's a short-ish video here
think CoD/Halo. So it'll be an emoji and 4 letters
but soooo many games have doors!
But do you really open them? Or just kick them open?
why do you think so many game devs are exhausted all the time
Not enough coffee
Have u guys tried to walk your devs in the park?
Maybe a bit sun for these bleached bones will do wonders
There's not really a simple way to explain it tbh, but games are built by "cheating" a lot of things, mostly for performance sake. So a game engine doesn't really work like how physics would in real life, it's all an illusion to appear like it does.
Often when objects can move and interact with each other, and ESPECIALLY if they can interact with the player, those shortcuts completely break down.
and that's how you end up with your players flying around your map on wooden pallets https://youtu.be/tCzVlIhf0So?si=YRWIXQVNBBiKU34U&t=128
Well, the most relaxed way to traverse the map in Enshrouded was sleeping in a bed.
Well, until it was fixed
These days engines have gotten more powerful and devs have gotten better at making things more seemless, but issues still crop up. Doors can be particularly troublesome because in a lot of games they are often like... All powerful. They will open/close no matter what, but that means the player can often exploit that for glitches, like getting out of bounds or forcing objects through the floor or something.
i prefer a carpet π
I remember that even happened in valorant which has like, really simple doors that just slowly slide up or down and that's it. Players found a way to use the door to force themselves out of the map and shoot other players lol
So... Toast plays shooter games. Is that the reason for your holes?
It's a reason for my high blood pressure
Tried less gluten and more flour?
WOW
and then titanfall was like, what if that WAS how you played the game.
Yeah, appropriate given that it was built on the source engine lol
(modified version of it)
worst ladders in any game? NMS
have barely played that one. lord I dont want to experience a WORSE ladder.
lol
most ladders are basically just an invisible box that says "players can move up and down here" while you stand inside it, and swap some controls around lol
Enshrouded has one of the best ladders. i can jump up it for one thing.
NMS hates letting you break away from the ladder so having one run up a tower of rooms is a terrible idea.
i can see why doors are harder than ladders, because the door needs to swing and have a hitbox
and if it hits the player, not send the player flying 1000 feet
Well yeah ladders don't move
but. NPCs are moving jobjects.
stuff moving is where the most things break
there's often a lot of broken stuff involving NPCs as well, though it usually doesn't matter in the way your players will be interacting with them
namely NPCs clipping through objects/the player/other npcs
or getting stuck in world geometry, falling through objects/the floor, stuff like that.
wild
This is a simplified version of how most game world surfaces look to the engine, the actual part things are interacting with. the rest is just pretty visuals to cover it all up.
So if an object/player/npc manages to pass through this mesh, or get stuck in it (it's just a 2d plane, or volumetric polygons), that's how things end up falling through worlds or getting stuck in seemingly nothing, things like that.
https://youtu.be/TiiD7YLgEkE?t=146 this convo reminds me of this video
Also might be hard to understand why this would be so complicated on such a simple example of a game world, but when modern engine's polygons look like this, you can definitely understand why it's easy for things to break lol https://youtu.be/Dj60HHy-Kqk?si=kWs--mJPMsYtTQvU&t=111
yeah that's crazy
that also proves how i can make a map without knowledge, just add a procedural assembly to the world :d
1 CLICK, boom map done
thank you unreal engine 5
lol yeah I mean if you built a game in UE5 the engine can do a lot of legwork, wouldn't support a voxel world though
There's some visually impressive solo UE5 projects though.
it's smart to have the procedural stuff work in tandem with the hand built stuff
like rather than it being a choice of one or the other, they can merge easily, regardless of order
but not with the steering tied to the camera
?
This game has one vehichle, the glider. And the camera doesnt allow you to look around too much or behind at all. And it forces camera view forward after a few seconds. I think they need to losen it up I like to look around.
it would be a bit better if the camera didnt try to face foward on its own when you try to look aaround
kind of what I am saying but also not limit the view to 120 degrees in front, allow 360 viewing
Also we need a mini map toggle
do we have a compass?
otherwise don't really need mini map
set waypoint follow compass, this way you dont need to open large map again to see if you're facing right direction
compass is not a mini map. It doesnt show your position relative to other places in the world as you are moving
The functions are really quite different in purpose and application
mini map would be too small to be useful, just would let you see a bit in front of you when locations we're travelling to on map are miles away usually. i don't see the point.
the only issue with the game is sometimes i need to open map twice to make sure im facing right direction, compass solves it
Mini maps can have a fade setting so it can overlay your screen and you can still see through it. A simple toggle button brings it up and dismisses it. If I am wrong about this then many games have wasted their time with such mini maps as they are completely useless
Go have a look at LOTRO's mini map it's quite small and yet everyone uses it
depends on the game, shooting games have radar/mini map, and you can actually aim using the radar (which in turn makes it useful in that game). i understand it can be turned on and off, i am not debating how a mini map will affect me personally. i am saying it doesn't seem that useful to put the work in.
what's the usefulness?
fallout 4 for example has no mini map, just a world map and compass
LOTR's mini map seems to act as a compass
that's literally where 90% of the usefulness lies lol
Why are you guys arguing about a mini map lol. Some people want a mini map, others don't, what's there to argue about?
i'm not arguing, i'm asking why it's useful to have
Does it matter? If CrankyOldGamer wants one, then that's about it, useful or not, right?
Could just add a setting to disable it
sure, people are allowed to want whatever they want?
i want pink pandas in the game
nobody can make me not want this.
we agree.
What?! Last I checked this is a free world, and people are allowed to want whatever they want, yeah? If you want pink pandas in the game then that's fine, I'm not gonna argue with you.
Sure doestn't come across that way, no.
Sarcasm is indicated by a question mark. Huh, who knew!?! Duly noted
Anyway, sure is great that the snow finally melted away huh?
anyway they were saying "we need a mini map" speaking for everyone, and also declaring it's usefulness, rather than "i want a mini map"
so i was talking about mini maps usefulness in games
Just let it go lol
Or don't, I'm not your mother. I'll go get the popcorn. Carry on.
yea a mini map would be cool
I need a mini map to know where the bad guys are so I can quick scope them
I personally don't think we need a minimap. In fact, few things in life truly accommodate the verb to need. But I understand why some people prefer the option to have one
Well if we donβt have a mini map then how will we know how to get to the store?
What store?
The one in the forest way
A marker on the map, or a pointer on the compass, or a landmark on the terrain. There are other options and other games have done them all in the past. Hence why we don't need a minimap. It's just that some people prefer to have one
If we are being technical we donβt need anything
But the quality of life would go up
We kind of do need air, water and food.
a lot of mini maps have built in compass functionality, so maybe people who want mini map really want it for that feature too.
Nope
I donβt breath or drink water
Iβm like that
We are talking about enshrouded right? lol
unless a mini map also functions like a radar (shows where enemy are) ? minimap is useful in games when it serves as a radar.
depends if people think an enshrouded player should be able to see enemies on the map / or chests
In that sense of needing, few things are truly needed in life in general.
But what Valourant was pointing at is that people confound needs with wants, and there's a significant difference between the two. One is much, much more urgent and objective than the other
Would be able to call in a air strike on them if we did see them on the map ngl
Ahh yes indeed I see
For the people who want minimap? Yeah, probably
For those who dislike it as a feature? Probably the opposite.
So we rather want to have it as an option that you can turn on or off
Well typically with games with mini maps there is always a option to disable it so itβs a win win for all
Right!
imo if it's an option then it doesn't affect me, i do prefer less UI on my screen in games so i would just turn it off, but if you're telling me it's needed/useful, i need a reason to agree with that... the statement that "it's useful" is not an actual reason on how it's useful... that's all i was getting at earlier.
Well itβs not necessarily needed but some people just like to have it gives a better feel of their surroundings
Enshrouded is a dark game at points and say you donβt wanna fall in lava or something so you would have a mini map to show where exactly the lava is and where you are
isn't the game black screen map discovery?
you can't get more sense of surroundings in unexplored areas lol
Well it would unlock as you go similar to the current map
I would imagine the minimap would be small enough to unlock the map in a radius that works for it
yeah but i mean it wouldn't even aid in knowing where to go if you needed to know to go left or right, when we tried to get to first spire, i remember we went left and it was a dead end, and then we went right we found a path and then a road leading up a cliff to the spire... mini map wouldn't have solved this issue since it was all unexplored map for us.
Hmm, I wouldn't conflate a "need for something" with a "use for something".
It seems to me that something can be subjectively useful without it being a need. Usefulness is derived from the consequences we get by employing something into our actions/thoughts, while needing something seems to be much more about the conditions necessary for an action/thought to take place
It would come down to how advanced the mini map is
Iβve played games where the mini map tell you exactly where to go and how to get there and Iβve played games where the mini map helped minimal amount
well i am curious about the usefulness of a mini map in a game like enshrouded, if we have a compass, and the game devs don't want to show enemy or chests to the player, and the map is unexplored, then what is the usefulness of a mini map? do we want the dev team to code this in for basically aesthetic preference? (where the aesthetic preference of a lot of players will be to ignore this feature by turning it off) or is there a use i am missing here?
Go into a game and go to a black spot the discovery bubble around you is pretty big
like a player can find their way in the game by staring at landmarks, rather than through mini map familiarity
For some players it might be easier to orientate themselves via a minimap than via the compass, even though they serve mostly similar functions. So that might make a minimap more useful for those players.
But my original point was more on the distinction between a use and a need. It was a broader point that goes beyond Enshrouded :P
I am going to chime in for a second here. The usefulness of a mini map is that people who have difficulty with orientation and using compass directions find it helps them to get around. I have known many players who are perpetually lost. I have known players that have difficulty with the simple statement that it is north of their current location. Yes, the compass ping can help, but the mini map helps with their spatial awareness.
oh i'm talking about a compass like in fallout 4 being added to enshrouded
bottom of the screen, you mark something on map, and it appears on compass outside of the map
Personally, I find them annoying and likely wonβt have it on. π
much easier to follow than using pings, and finding north
Yeah I remember it, was something that is user friendly for folks with spatial awareness challenges for sure
you basically just turn your character in a circle, and when the marker on the compass is directly in front of you you're facing the right direction.
This reminded me of a friend who's chronically lost in every video game he plays. If he enters a cave in a 3D game, in less than 2 minutes he'll forget where he came from and wander around aimlessly.
Dude's an accomplished engineer IRL, I just don't get it lol
Oh I get it!
tell him to follow left wall π
Also he probably would love wisps to follow lol
I have seen them in other games⦠but sometimes the pathing is poorly implemented and lead to bad stufff.
I am also friends with such a person. Zero direction sense
We had wisps like that in Monster Hunter World. I personally didn't like them, it took much out of the sense of exploration and the attention needed to track things. But I absolutely get why people like them
im like this person irl, especially if i default to someone else who is driving or planning the trip, then i totally have no clue where i am, or how i got there.
Anyways, I guess my point in this was for someone like these poor lost players it is a huge QoL improvement.
It's quite funny when we travel together, this friend and I. He just follows me or other friends, because he's perpetually lost xD
I grew up in the woods, so thankfully I have super good direction sense π But one of our buddies who would come out exploring with us sometimes? Oh man he would get lost in a minimart
Guy is a civil engineer now, too
I freely admit that sometimes I have been known to get lost, but I am much improved from when I used to play EverQuest lol
if i take it upon myself to figure out where to go then my direction sense is good, but also it is pretty easy to get lost in a canadian forest, everything looks the same.
you really have to keep track in your head of how you turned and stuff or at least the general direction of where you came from
like i can read maps well
Alright.. what is with all the Canadians in my life lately? I swear 95% of my online friends are from Canada.
its just i have this sort of mode where ill just default to following someone and all that goes out the window
lol
Yeah I do that with the hubby. I say we are going to go get this quest done⦠lead the way!
I can find it on my own, no issue, but just easier to have one captain.
Good
As long as they can be turned off i can begrudgingly accept minimaps in games
Worst case i can hold out for a mod that removes them
I too prefer less UI in my game. Although a minimap would be helpful, depending on the amount of screen space it took, I may or may not use it
Anyone know how to make secret doors look secret? This is some Scooby Doo nonsense. #screenshots-and-art message
put a garden on top of it
Yeah it doestn't get any more secret than that atm, sorry.
the bookcase door is pretty secret looking
Ya I like it
and there are ways to hide it better
Yeah bookshelf seems to be the only actually secret looking secret door
you could bookcase door and then have the stairs down into the basement from there.
Ya they messed up on matching any blocks lol
Ya that one was a goofy
the glowing treasure light and obvious minecraft button doesnt help either
Itβd also help a lot to suppress the on screen prompt to open/pick up when nearby for that specific item. Even if they somehow manage to hide it visually itβs still not really very secret when it plainly tells you it can be opened
So apparently no other wood will burn in the kiln except logs.
Correct
Interesting physics. All the other wood must be made of stone.
Stop being so Cranky all the time you old fart π . I'm sure more wood will get added to be burned etc. Remember, it's in very early early access still.
stop (cough) being cranky?! Never!
I would never expect anything less π
Boarding a plane now, cya tomorrow (if i survive)
Man I am liking Radiant Aura and Sun Aura. Those little bugs that swarm you in the shroud just all die.
thats probably why we can grow 6 types trees of regular wood. i dont see palm wood or hard wood. we can use the rare wood for builds and not waste a gathering trip
can our base covers some shroud area and if so, will growing a tree in it make shroud logs?
Hmmm is there a bug report available in game?
Yup, menu or f1
Sneak attack applies to melee weapons only?
in other words doesn't apply to a fireball launched form a long ways away
whats was happening?... or wasn't ...
I was planting chamomile and it was saying the ground wasnβt suitable then taking the seedling out of my inventory
I figured out the ground not suitable bit, a few layers down was the rock base under the farm soil
But the seedling disappearing is what the bug was
i think it need 2 squares deep of soil to work
Yeah I got that part to work after adjusting
Anyone got any idea how to make a headstone? Tryin to build a cemetery with an underground crypt for the new npc. But I cant find a block or a piece of furniture I'm satisfied with...
I built Alden a nice underground crypt that's lit up by blue glow stone and the green hollow halls wall lights. It has such a nice radiance.
But as for blocks, have you tried refined stone, limestone, or the city stone? Those may work well for crafting a headstone.
what about layering items? like stone blocks with maybe a window or fence? embedding a table into blocks to create a coffin?
I could see this on top of a couple limestone blocks to make a headstone..https://enshrouded.gdg.wiki/furniture/round-stone-window-frame
Found my first iron ore deposit and I dont have my rested bonus because I died to an exploding bug
also this chair.. embed them so just the back shows https://enshrouded.gdg.wiki/furniture/sand-throne
that's an expensive headstone, better be someone important π
nuuu! got a spare flame altar you can toss down?
eh just tossing ideas around
Dont think I can build in here I am inside a elixer well
aah gotcha. I have a location that has iron that is easy to get to.... want me to PM you a screenshot?
Well what I mean to say is my first iron ore deposit on this character
aah ok. so you know good locations π
Hello party people
no u
You can use gifs.
nice avatar btw. i see you are a person of culture as well.
YYH on π
YYH > DBZ
I love Togashi and Toriyama equally.
Ill die on this hill.
like i think DB is great.
Z? .... it had cool bad guy designs at least.
im just sad about YYHs final story arc.
but i get burnout.
Sensui had an interesting setup though
yes.
togurishi was one of my favorite villians. im butchering thst name. but sunglasses dude.
the fate his brother got was too kind.
but ya. his final power percentage confuses me. theres two different translations between subs and dubs, and then his thoughts proclaimed he lied.
it was a little confusing. either way. awesome dude. and an awesome flip on the death of an ally trope.
Who's that
just did my first hollow halls
lol did the guy he punch have osteoperosis
makes more sense for the bone to break at the actual weak point, the joint lol
Strong.
lol he held his hand there like superman the man of steel was holding it, while breaking his arm
maybe if the guys arm was tucked under his armpit
30% is enough.
funniestthing is, I always thought yuyu was much longer, turns out it was like 4 years or so. I remember reading it every chaptor in the jump mags
@signal ocean Wazzup. I beat you to it :)
when I bought yu yuk hakasho, I only grabbed season/dvd pack 2 and 3, thinking him being dead was more than just 1-2 episodes, and 2 started in middle of amazing tournament arc. so i had to go back and get season/dvd pack 1.
then I found 4 at best buy for an actual good price, but i had forgotten my wallet and they closed soon. so I sped home on my bike and back again, and then didnt get around to watching it for a few months. lol
the episode I was waiting for was the LAST episode on 3. XD
hi, what's the best channel to ask about home dedicated server help?
#server-support probably :)
hahaha derp, i don't see how I missed that in that section. thank you
Nah you're good it's pretty far down the list
It is definitely May now. The sun is out and I needed to bring out the fans.
Is there a channel for my game Wish List of features?
There is a lot of potential for this game as an SMO (small Multiplayer online) similar to Rust or 7DTD. a few changes need to be made (IMO) to do this. yes I worked on Asheron's Call and other games while in the old Microsoft games team in the 90s.
-
Base protection - similar to Rust (Cabinet), or 7DTD (Claim block) with permission to invite friends (Bonus would be expires if not able to play for XX days)
-
Each player can do the quest chain as group or solo - yes some will require a group but I should be able to find all the trades people for my base or if friends with someone share his trades people.
-
Mods - Mods help - start simple with weapon and armor mods - OR alternative are in-game mods from game maker that I can find and enhance a weapon.
-
Configuration file for server allowing me to control, number of players, lenght of day, dmg multiplier for Mob/Player, etc.
-
PVP zone or area - can be turned on/off in game config
-
Improved farming and loot management, including configurable stack sizes (server config file)
-
Player stats that can be seen in-game or leader boards (like Wow and other games) players like to brag and it does increase game play. example "Duncan was killed by acid from a X, this is Duncan's 3rd death today!" "first dungeon completed by Princess Leah with the help of TrollKing", etc.
I am sure there are more π

Not a channel, but that's where we're keeping track of the most popular player feature requests :)
First 5 are fairly common definitely heard those before, 6 not entirely sure what you're asking for, and 7 is a new one to me, but since our game's servers are hosted by players and the game isn't an MMO I'm not entierly sure how that'd work
Anyone know when the next update is?
so #6 - if you try and plan a large amount of anything it can be time consuming, maybe an upgrades planting tool that lets you plan a row or square of X seeds at a time. Stack sizes, being able to have 10K rocks vs 1000 rocks or even 1K logs instead of 250. one of the most common request in most games I play and forums is the ability to increase the size of all stacks other than unique items
Generally we aim to have major updates every 2 months ish, last one was about a month ago, and we sprinkle in hotfixes and smaller patches in-between that when they feel appropriate.
We haven't given an exact date yet on when to expect the next major update though
Ohh I gotcha, like being able to mod stack size limits. Makes sense
Is the beastmaster line dookie butter or no?
Updates often are a great way to keep players engaged, nothing worse than a game that stagnates. I think the success of Rust was its constant updates and fixes
Question - I found a ring of 10% wood chopping but nothing for mining
Could definitely use some love, but some players still seem to have a good time with it
Sweet just checking to see if it was viable in any way ty
I'm not sure if there's a mining one (yet?)
Rust
thanks for the video, it's not thst I dont like reading, it's that i dont like opening 50 tabs and clicking back and forth. >_>
I also just posted a blog with all of them in plaintext :) (no links)
I tooootally didn't forget to include it in my initial post
NICE
well this is good too!
ah yes. combat. please please please. melee fighters need some kind of good immunity to knockback/stun/attack interruption! XD
rats and skeletons are infuriating to deal with after a certain point.
I think the next major update is scheduled for June. Toast beat me to it :screm:
Radius-based loot pickup is something we have scheduled as a quality of life improvement as well :)
YES PLEASE. I HATE HARVESTING ALOE (not that I need to anymore. >_>) but also trees are a bit of a chore too lol
so will it be possible in the future to climb steep hills? they're so slippery
Is it bad that I want to ship the survivors? And is it selfish that I really want the Blacksmith and Alchemist to hook up?
well deserved...
Why is the new ama video all regurgitated ones from last week and they use one from last week twice in this week's what even is that tsk tsk
That's... That's the entire point π€ It's a highlight of our favorite questions from the Reddit AMA we did lol
Or you mean the tiktoks? That's cause most people probably didn't see those
And there's still a lot more in this one than we had on those
I get it but they picked favorite question about ability and lvls 3 times and I meant the YouTube I haven't seen the toks yet I love you guys and your game I just feel thatay come off strange the same question answered twice this video and there's sprinkles of last week's in this one and same as last week ...not saying how to run your social media platforms just more or less given a heads up in case that was some kinda mistake
Ah yeah, that's because the amount of views we get on our shorts/tiktoks is extremely low
Probably like 1/25th of what this video will get
So we did rehash some of them if you watched those
Tru only us die hards seeing these huh shame if it hit more people they'd be playing ...but ok trust u guys super excited this game is heading in great direction
And yeah shorts/tiktok are honestly pretty experimental for us, it's difficult in general for most game studios to get much attention on those platforms
(it's the same videos on both)
awaits new content
Like this? #enshrouded-chat message
I'd personally say this is a decidedly different game to rust though ^^
Added chapters to the AMA video for the lazy folks amongst us
It was good!
Is there a way to fix map lag?
Why not farmer and blacksmith; Carpenter and hunter? The alchemist and the newst npc.
I dunno, considering how much the Farmer talks about her precious Queen, I figured there was something up there... ;P
Everyone knows the real couple is the blacksmith with the carpenter

Imagine the beautiful kids that would result from some cozy-time between the Halls cyclops and a sicklescythe. Would be adorable.
I don't really want to imagine that
about as adorable as the offspring of a Shar-pei and an avocado.
Wym? Shar-peis are adorable! And they can deliver a very impressive amount of warm drool all over your shoes whenever you need it!
Very useful in a cold winter
....read it again Andreas
? You mean that a green, wrinkly, bumpy, oval, drooling Shar-pei with a mushy interior and a solid core wouldn't be adorable?
only if it's the oddball of the species that is sweet and kind to you, but goes murder mode when something else is a threat to you.
Avocados are deadly, so I have no doubt
it was deadpool....i was making reference to deadpool..
Never seen it, so I guess that's why I had no idea π
I think you misspelled that.. you meant delicious right?
whelp your home work is to go watch deadpool one and two.
Can't they be deadly and delicious at the same time? Like pufferfish!
I'm an old man, I'll leave the Marvel universe to the youngsters of the world.
never ate pufferfish.. i suppose an avocado could be deadly if you choke on it?
Right! That stone cold killer in the middle is bad for your health.
I'm half a century old almost!
pufferfish has to be to prepared by a trained sushi chef.
Ok calm down now. You were baby sitting when you were 13? That's impressive
(yes, we babysat without contracts, for a pittance compensation, usually because OUR parents wanted to hang out with THEIR parents)
I was babysitting at 9 lol for friends.
Remember us GenX were not coddled.. we played with Darwin Award style toys. If we survived those we could survive anything. Babysitting was a rite of passage.
It's worse than that. You have to be specially certified, after a lengthy education, by the Japanese state to be allowed to even butcher a pufferfish. It's no joke that business
One wrong move and the hangman comes'a'knockin'
Tasty though
I believe it. Not knowing what to do with sushi can~~ kill ~~unalive someone. Heck a raw morel in sushi just did
yeah; I'm aware; i just condensed it.
Scary as hell, but I lost a bet to a coworker many years ago when we were in Japan, so I had to try some, and it was actually delicious, but I'm never going through that gut wrenching terror again π
Have the lawn dart scars to prove it...
I believe it!
Eh, ouch? π
I was pretty lucky, only one really bad accident when I was a kid, dog bite. No broken bones, though alot of sprained ankles, skinned knees and sunburn lol. All that outdoor time!
Pre computer.. i actually was.. GASP.. tanned!
Now its more like exiting a building in Enshrouded.. the sun.. the sun.. blinding! HISSS
whats the gen in between Genx and millennial?? it's like a micro gen from 76 to 81, called? i'm in that gen lol
The worst (or best, depending on how you look at it π ) thing we did as kids, was having actual war in my grandpas hay loft with air rifles and those sharp feathered darts you shot at target boards with. We all came through it with our eye sight intact for some reason.
Ah my hubby and I did alot of paintball when we were first married back in the 1990s
was hella fun
Gen X was born between 1965 and 1979/80 and is currently between 41-56 years old
So I'm firmly in that
i'm 42
46 here
Sometimes it's weird to think about kids who have grown up never knowing a world where the internet doesn't exist.
ah! Xennials
Boomers = 1946-1964, gen x = 65-80, gen y (millennials) = 1981-1996, gen z = 1997 and 2012, and from there and current is gen a
Oh yeah Zerax.. its mind boggling how things are so different. if I had been born after 2000 I would definately be into computer programming.
and my years were off it's 77 to 83
