I hung out allot in the community and answered questions like I was already apart of the team. This earned me a spot on the modteam, which earned me some attention from the dev team.
Late spring early summer the partnering of Game Seer and the official formation of Half Sword Games as a studio was announced. With that announcement the CEO of Game Seer mentioned they would be hiring a community manager as apart of the marketing team.
I sent him a DM and asked to be considered.
I have done community management and moderation work for indie devs since 2007 all as a volunteer. Most notably I did 6 years moderation and worked closely with the community manager and PR director at at Warhorse during the development of KC:D1. This was the first game I got a credit in (nothing major, community mention).
This was enough to get me an interview, I showed a similar passion for the project as everyone else so I got a second interview with Frank and Ivan. It was like reuniting with old friends, and as it turned out a mutual friend is how several of us first found out about Half Sword in the first place.
Valentin the Mad the host of Random madness was someone I met and made friends with during KC:D development. His channel took notice of HS early builds on Itch.io. This is how GalaxyHighMarshal learned of the project, as well as myself and another person who I am not positive enough to name right now.
