The problems people were reporting (app being slow, characters not working/being disabled, characters disappearing, saved chats not loading, censored messages for no reason) since there’s absolutely no updates on either #📣︱announcements #📈︱status and I have not used c.ai for 2 (almost 3 weeks). Hello again everyone! I do feel like fixing the issues with all the censorships, would make a positive impact on the site & app, so if that gets prioritized first then that would be great and amazing for us all 💯

Then after that, would be to add more variety and realism and flexibility in the way the bots we interact with have. Hence; improved responses, reactions, and genuinely sticking to their persona.

Most importantly, let's not forget the issues where we enable "Away messages" from the settings, but then the AI's feature of that, unfortunately does not actually send you one.

Ya know I can't know for certain there is no definitive update that says it. But let's be honest, changes have been done before without updates or our knowledge. But around the same time they fixed the errors, the bots began to become stricter on censorship. It has been noticed community wide and I don't believe it to be a coincidence to happen at the same time they had to work on updates for the errors happening.

They have been mentioning for months how they want to tighten their censorship. I've seen updates on Discord about it, Reddit, ect.

I'm sorry but I don't think it's a bug ans how are we meant to verify ANYTHING when the updates we get are few and far between? I have been around since the start of Spring. Never once have ai see the censorship get super strict randomly unless it was after they wanted it to.

I used to be able to have to do minor tweeking and slightly train the bots, but now it's like trying to force a toddler to put a jacket on. I can be using the same private bots, go back to old chats... and God, the detail was beautiful then.

hey my c.ai is really weird atm!! i deleted my c.ai account because i wanted to make a new one; to start fresh and stuff, and during the time all the bugs were happening and the site was slow, when i signed up it would send me the verification email, but when i clicked on the link it wouldn't let me make a new account, it just put me back on the home page with the sign up/log in buttons in the corner. i thought at the time it was just because of the slowness of the site, but now that it's (supposedly) over, i've tried to sign up again but it's still not letting me sign up :,)). im not sure if c.ai is still bugging or not but this is really annoying me :((

I've done that before, but I don't know if it still works. What I did was copy all messages except for the OP message and paste it in a new chat. I used the old website. If you try copying bottom up in the new website, your chats get copied in reverse.

Alternatively, you could also try starting a new chat, break the fourth wall, and tell the bot the background story of what you want to talk about and continue from there. Might have to redirect/"remind" the bot of some stuff during the rp, but that happens anyways.

I had pasted over 75 pages of worth of chat saved on Word. The AI couldn't remember it all though. 😅

Well based on ai articles and various reported news;
I don’t think it is coming back. They want their app to be 13+. I don’t know how they are going to manage that without making it for all intensive purposes useless or pulling some strings, but they don’t look like they are dropping the idea of having the app 13+ on apple store. Having the app, if successful would be worth more than having a high quality ai and it's really the investors that have a say. Cai already has investors and investors usually don't like non-family friendly. (It might affect their image) If you go to Cai twitter it looks to be 85% complaints. I'm lead to believe as long as it looks good on paper it doesn’t matter what the users say. App reviews have and probably will be continued to be manipulated. Studies show fraudulent reviews to be a huge issue with apps.

Of course there are still people who enjoy it as is but I read a few ai articles noting the the amount of users leaving. Other ai are trying to sweep up unhappy users, and though many of them show promise are not there yet. There are few that are adequate. But the ai market is continuing to move so it should be interesting to see if anyone can step up and fill the gap. But pattern shown that when an ai gets popular enough/gets investors it goes family friendly. I'm not sure if I am allow to list other popular ai that this has happened to but there have been many.

But despite everything pointing to no, there is a reason I check back every month. I think it's called hope.

I don’t think I am able to dispute that. Many ai did start with mature themes until they become well known. Suppose investor’s benefit by using a well known brand and then decreasing quality to save money or trying to attract a wider audience. Way way back, what was it? Quizilla? (website full of quizzes and fanfiction where you could chose your own (very limited) out come based on your choices. It was the closest thing to online character reactions or just to see what candy you'd be.) It was thriving and had a big community. It's down fall was being bought by yahoo and then removing everything over 13+. After it soon fell into obscurity.

I still for the life of me don’t know why they did that. But even with that history companies don’t seem to stop. So they must get something out of it. But then how is censorship profitable? I think you are right in the fact that themes that have been demonized don’t get advertised in the forefront like family friendly. But with things like Qizzilla that was already so well known, why do that? All I can think of is For All Ages means more people and that investors are not usually a part of the community and are not getting a ground view.

But yeah no idea. I feel like this is just something they teach in business. You know the phrase (mature themes) sells but all well known brands are family friendly. I feel like that might be the reason Cai is moving in that direction.

Here is a take and I welcome any rectifications, counter, whatever. Some of the reasons why 18> content is just something we won't ever get (at least for now) are because:

1. Advertisement. For this, we all know how big the business is, and to keep it short, mainstream brands just doesn't want their shit appearing next to something explicit for advertisement. Now, Character not having ads might be a mistake a some, and that might've costed them a lot. That, or they just don't want ads because of user experience and because the money they are getting from their investors is enough to cover them.

2. Subscription: Sub money alone -- or mainly -- is not enough to cover costs to run something as huge as an AI platform. Simply as. Even if a platform got 90% of its users subscribed, I am not sure if that can even barely cover the costs.

Our feedback is important to helping improve things, and if we want the AI to improve, it will help us if we rate the messages we don't like and report feedback (see recent recap of the community Livestream event #📣︱announcements message )

There's a rating star system after every message.

By giving them feedback, they can figure out what works and what doesn't work and fine tune it. I assume that rating the messages helps fine tune the algorithm the best, but I'm just a user so 🤷 Makes logical sense to me.
