This feature works perfectly fine on my laptop, which also uses Hyprland (and actually has an almost-identical configuration). How do I fix this?

I don't know why, but I've tried using Vesktop under a VPN again with the user agent trick and it works now with voice. Maybe I'd updated some package that Vesktop depended on implicitly and a restart just fixed it. Sorry for wasting anyone's time.

hi, i have an issue with Vesktop where noise cancellation does not work at all, in Discord this issue is fixed by disabling "Bypass System Audio Input Processing" which allows my audio driver's noise suppression/cancellation to work, but this option does not exist in Vesktop at all.
for reference, this issue is not present in the web version of Discord, noise supression is working fine.

having an issue updating despite selecting repair vencord earlier. When I launch Vesktop, I am told that update 6.5 something will install upon exit. I close Vesktop, type in my root password...and nothing happens. I check Synaptic Package Manager and it says I'm on the latest version, which is listed as 5. something. What is going on? I'm on Bodhi Linux, for reference, which is based off of Ubuntu 22.04.

Whenever Vesktop is running and my PC awakens from sleep mode it shows me the login screen where I can select other accounts signed in on the Vesktop, but the account I was using before the PC went to sleep mode isn't in the list, and I have to manually add it again.

The problem with full screen is that it basically gives the game entire control over the display and it's more difficult for other apps like Discord / Vesktop to interact with it

Discord / Vesktop refusing to load while using VPN on Linux

Discord started blocking Linux VPN users, for whatever reason.

You have two options:

1. Disable your VPN
2. Spoof your user agent to a windows one. This may trigger more captchas and could flag your account as spam (avoid sending friend requests or joining servers if you do this). You can do this by launching Vesktop via vesktop --user-agent-os windows.

Why is Vesktop screenshare so much worse then official discord client on linux? i've used them both interchangably for 2 years and its always been like that. im on nixos running wayland and im on an nvidia gpu. The screenshare is really really pixelated on vesktop which i assume is because of software encoding. Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

Hello, I am running Vesktop as a flatpak on Arch Linux. Everything is completely up to date. I am having issues with my KDE Plasma panels and desktop once Vesktop has been opened. I tested on Cinnamon, and I'm getting no issues. My specific issues are the panels and desktop freezing and being very unresponsive after Vesktop has been opened. Is anyone else having these issues?

i just wanted to let the devs know about some issues im facing with Vesktop. I checked the github repo to create an issue but saw that it was reserved for devs only.
2 Major issues for me is, when im streaming in vc the streams fps is very low. it feels very very choppy and lagged. Because of this, i had to switch back to the official client. The other issue is that the RPC is what i think its called, the game detection thing when youre playing a game is not working. ive tried games from steam,microsoft store and pirated but none of them seem to be working, that was a feature i kinda liked about discord but i can live without that, aslo the discord app had a add your game location manually thing so it could detect the games, but i cant find that here as well, could there be any way to add the game manually or do something so it shows up as im playing that game?

if an application makes your entire system unresponsive even after it is closed then it is an issue with your system

if switching to a different desktop fixes the issue, it's a good indicator that the other desktop is the issue

When I give my friends a demo, they hear themselves on stream. This doesn't happen in the regular Discord + Vesktop patcher, but the Vesktop client has this bug. How can I fix it?

Hey, sorry for getting back to this so late, been both busy and kept forgetting.

To summarise the issue I've been having, for whatever reason, while streaming was working beforehand without issue for me, I'm now in a weird position where my microphone audio reroutes from the call and into my stream whenever I try sharing my screen.

I noticed whenever I choose an audio source, speech-dispatcher-dummy is always automatically chosen. I can't deselect it whenever I choose an audio source, it just locks, and I can't remove it as an audio source no matter what I try.

It was suggested this might simply be a graphical issue where this doesn't occur, and simply looks as though that's the case and that I might accidentally be enabling it trying to disable it when it's already disabled, but playing around more, it seems that that isn't the case, and that things work fine on the graphical side of things.

If someone can help me sort this out, that'd be a blessing. I miss hosting listening parties and showcasing what I've added to my music library to friends.

[Bug] Screen Share Picker skips window selection on Wayland (skipPicker: true)

Bug Description

On Wayland (GNOME 49, Ubuntu), the Screen Share Picker only shows "Entire screen" without any option to select individual application windows. The official Discord desktop app (v0.0.133, Electron 37) on the same system shows the full Application/Screen/Device tabs with individual window selection working correctly.

Root Cause

In the compiled main.js, the screen share handler explicitly skips the picker on Wayland:

Why This Should Be Fixed

Electron PR #39111 (merged July 2023, Electron 26+) fixed the duplicate portal dialog issue by using CreateGenericCapturer to request screens and windows in a single portal call. Since Vesktop uses Electron 40, this fix is already available — but skipPicker: true bypasses it.

The official Discord app (Electron 37) on the same Wayland system correctly shows individual windows, proving the underlying Electron API works.

Expected Behavior

Screen Share Picker should show individual application windows on Wayland, same as on X11 and same as the official Discord app.

This is something I started to struggle with for a while.

Vesktop (not sure about normal discord) does not retrieve 7.1 surround audio. It only sees two audio channels (FL and FR). In two games I play I have to use this launch option via steam so the dialogue (which is going through not just FL and FR) to be heard in my streams, while music is already (FL and FR) and can always be heard.

I noticed a bug after the latest Vencord update, for the "log deleted messages" plugin, if i edit a message, I see the previous version of the message, or If i delete the message I see it still as expected. However, when I go to "Remove message history" it does not remove the message history.

Henlo. Im running Vesktop here on Bazzite for a while. And I notice my friends keep complaining about very pixelated low quality streams and cam sharing. Checking the info overlay it indeed shows quite low resolutions. Especially my cam quality that sticks around 252p. On Discord I dont have this issue. official discord has its own native wayland capture path, and obs uses a direct screen capture pipewire source. the problem with vesktop is that it relies on electron/chromium's internal webrtc implementation to request frames from the portal. so if vesktop is running in the wrong mode, it sees "0 frames" even though the portal is working for other apps

Hey I'm currently having an issue with streaming and watching other people's streams. When I want to stream, I select 720p and then "prefer clarity" (my friends say the stream is like 5 pixels unless I pick that), then when I hit Go Live, the stream goes to 1080p. It seems to do this no matter what resolution I choose.

The other issue is that when I'm watching someone else's stream, it seems to "flicker" every few seconds to an earlier frame and it gets really irritating trying to watch my friends play a game.

When i enabled offloading for my nvidia gpu, and setup PRIME.

When i rebooted, how come the only two processes using my GPU, taking it out of suspension mode and causing power draw, was Vesktop, and nvidia-smi, I am only concerned about why Vesktop is using my nvidia gpu which should be disabled if no process is using it

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

i've been trying to stream with vesktop and it has been giving me a ton of issues

i was hoping i could get some help with this?

a combination of constant stuttery issues + people are saying they hear themselves and not the game im streaming

is there some way that i can get non-game applications recognized by vesktop via arRPC? I like it when i have certain applications (like DAWs or CAD software) in my status

in normal-style discord i can just add applications via the "registered games" section in settings, but i'm not sure how to do that in arRPC via vesktop

i could maybe do this via the custom RPC plugin, which would look pretty, but it doesn't seem to support application recognition. so i can't have it start up when i open a given application

I am unsure of what is causing this issue but Ill write what I know about it for now

I keep "rarely having" an issue where vesktop might freeze/crash and reboot like usual however when it comes to specific features such as screensharing or right clicking this occurs

• Rare crashes from right clicking and then it attempts to restore the discord session which is successful
• Screensharing seems to fail to find any audio/sinks to connect to and displays no audio options for some reason?

When these issues occur I usually have to go to, "/home/Lefvo/.config/vesktop" or use the button from the dock to clear my data basically giving it a fresh setup and all screensharing works again. Its hard to recreate the bug as it happens once in a while during the day.

Hey, I've been running into some issues with screensharing on vesktop ever since the patch to screenshare audio that was pushed a couple of weeks ago. Particularly, my client will hang when I try to open the menu (maybe like half the time?), and occaisional crashes as well (much less frequent). Is this a known issue, and/or can I help provide any more information for diagnosing the root?

when i clicked on 'update,' it said that it failed, and that i should try re-installing vesktop

How to update if you can't update via normal means

Sometimes Vencord might break or crash and make it impossible to update via normal means. Here's how to fix it!

Discord Desktop

Use the Repair button in the installer. You will not lose your Vencord or Plugin settings.

Vesktop

Right click the vesktop tray icon > Repair Vencord.
If you don't have a tray, you can run the following script in devtools (ctrl + shift + i, then click on the console tab and paste):
