Hello i have a problem where only one game activity isn't showing up (Genshin Impact) i think it where working at some point but it's been month not showing up. All the other game show up properly but there is no manually adding / disabling game activity like on discord original client (which shows the right activity for me). I'm on win11 and deleted every file related to vesktop (at least tried i guess) and reinstalled but the problem is still there even deleted cache and repaired data of the said game if anyone has encountered this problem or think of a solution i am waiting for your help.

I have an issue with screen share where it looks like this. It happens in discord app and vesktop. I'm using bazzite and downloaded vesktop through bazaar.

Hey, I'm having a problem with KDE Wayland (6.3.6) and screen capture. Specifically the xdg-desktop-portal-kde shows up, but immediately the stream stops without sending even a single frame. Then xdg-desktop-portal-kde stays with an End button until manually clicked. This with Vesktop 1.6.1, distro is Kali Linux (which is like Debian Testing but updated monthly)

Another issue is that apparently Vesktop cannot handle more than one camera on Linux - if I have both my capture card and camera connected, selector doesn't do anything and picks the first device only. Which unless I get some udev rules, happens to be the capture card. Each video device has multiple /dev/video<x> entries - 3 per device - this could be the cause, so it picks /dev/video0 and then /dev/video1 which is the same device. Other apps (such as Librewolf and Chromium) do not have this problem.

the way computers store text is that each letter is just a number

A is 41, B is 42, a (lowercase) is 61, etc

this is called text encoding

there are different standards for encoding text. the most common ones are ascii (basic latin text only) and utf-8 (extends ascii, has way more characters, including emojis etc)

in different text encoding standards, the same number can correspond to different letters

I'm hitting a wall with a mic issue and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this, or maybe found a fix!

I literally cannot unmute myself in voice channels in Vesktop. I keep seeing the message that my "privacy settings of the browser don't let it detect my mic."

Crucial Detail: Even when I'm NOT in a call, my microphone status icon is stuck on Muted (crossed-out).

This problem is only happening in Vesktop; my microphone works perfectly in regular Discord and all other apps.

My Theory/Observation:
The error strongly suggests a microphone access issue (NotReadableError), BUT all my Windows Privacy Settings (for Desktop Apps) appear to be correctly set to ON. This might indicate a deeper OS/compatibility bug that is overriding the settings.

Experiencing a white (and sometimes black) screen on starting the Vesktop flatpak, app image, and standalone tarball version.

System:
Debian 13
KDE Plasma desktop.
I don't have a VPN installed.
I have run repair, which did nothing.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the flatpak.

When running any of the versions from commandline I get no errors in the command line. As pictured.

ctrl shift i doesn't seem to work with the flatpak at least in my case.

It works fine on my bazzite laptop, so I am unsure how else to troubleshoot.

I'm on Linux and my desktop environment is KDE Plasma, and unless i run vesktop with the --disable-features=WaylandFractionalScaleV1 flag, it does not function properly when any monitor has fractional scaling lower than 100%
it shrinks when switching between monitors (as well as random other times that i cant fully figure out) and does not visually take up the whole space it actually occupies

I think you chose the wrong vencord for your case
in most cases you want to only install one of the vesktop packages in AUR or install discord and then use the vencord-installer or vencord-hook
the vencord packages I maintain are used if you want a different vencord than what's shipped in vesktop
I guess it isn't obvious to everyone, so I'll update my pinned comment in my packages to include this warning

Using Manjaro KDE under Wayland on a laptop
I have tested the Flatpak version as well as built the AUR version, both numbered 1.6.1

My issue is that no matter which camera I pick, when I test that camera, it instead shows video from the built-in webcam. I have a capture card, and I've set up OBS Virtual Camera, they show up in the drop-down menu in Voice & Video, but picking them doesn't change anything.

I tried the capture card in Cheese. It works there. I did not have Cheese open while testing Vesktop.

edit: removing the webcam's module with sudo rmmod uvcvideo works as a workaround, but that leaves me without a usable webcam

I get mobile notifications even when I'm actively using Vesktop, resulting in me getting notifications for messages I can already see and getting double notifications when I don't have Vesktop focused but am still actively using my computer.

I'm on macOS 26.1 Beta (25B5072a) and my phone is running iOS 26.1 Beta (23B82) (incase that matters :P). Here's Discord's version information:

I am a streamer. I want my stream to be visible to people in a Discord video call. In the past (Windows and vanilla Discord) I was able to start the OBS Virtual Camera, share my screen in Discord, and choose my Virtual Camera.

Today, when I attempt to do this, the Virtual Camera does not appear as on option to be shared. When i try to share my webcam instead, the OBS Virtual Camera DOES appear in the list, but the output is entirely black. Other applications can see OBS's virtual camera.

It seems vencord/vesktop is somehow modifying certain domain names and this causes me to be unable to join voice chats in certain regions (stuck on DTLS connecting forever). Both the discord client and opening discord in firefox/chromium let me join these channels but vesktop/vencord doesn't (I have disabled all plugins).

This is the first DNS lookup that gets done when I join one of these affected channels, and weirdly there's a _20916.https added to the start (the number changes sometimes). The second image is the same dns lookup being done when I join using the discord client, only this time there's no weird prefix added to the start. Am I completely blaming the wrong thing or could this be causing my issues? Could there be a stray regex in a plugin/vencord itself somewhere that accidentally replaces certain domain names?

I'm currently having an issue with my audio devices and I'm not really sure whats happening

I just freshly reinstalled arch for the last time, I have all the pipewire stuff (pulse, alsa, jack, wireplumber, pipewire), the services are running, yet, I cannot hear any audio from Vesktop specifically. Hi there, im on Fedora 42 KDE using the Vesktop RPM (not flatpak) and very frequently i am unable to paste system screenshots at all. I can paste them into other apps fine and if I take screenshots using Firefox's built in tool it pastes into Vesktop fine, but not when using Spectacle via the screenshot keybinds (have not tested manually opening it and using the gui)

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble with Hardware Acceleration. I'm on Linux Wayland, more specifically Fedora. I've tried the app both from the RPM and the Flatpak packages and none work. The stream starts, but when people try to join it gives them error 2012, and if I stop streaming the whole app freezes and becomes unresponsive. I have an i5 1165G7 and the intel-media-driver package installed. vainfo reports all the supported formats correctly, and the built-in chrome://gpu window also shows the codecs as available for both encoding and decoding.

If I disable Hardware Acceleration I can stream properly and others can see the stream correctly, and no crashes occur

spectacle doesn't automatically copy the screenshot to your clipboard when you take it, you need to hit ctrl+c when the gui is open so if u have the gui not opening afterwards that would explain it

well you could see if there is any difference in dbus message

run dbus-monitor "interface='org.freedesktop.Notifications'" | less

then first trigger a Discord notification, then trigger a Vencord notification. Easiest way to do this is to set Vencord to always use desktop notifications in Settings -> Vencord -> Notifications, then doing any cloud sync action

your terminal will print the message for both (the notifcation will display a large hex string which is the pfp lmao, just ignore that)

compare and see if there are any differences besides the image

I did get two unusual soft crashes for plasmashell while i was looking at dbus-monitor though

so probably some dbus update that required a restart or idk

Hello! I have been using Vesktop with no issue for a while but now it doesnt seem to work whatsoever anymore. When I try to see the plugins it no longer shows and just acts like vanilla Discord. I've tried installing and reinstalling and that doesn't seem to fix it either and I was hoping to find some help here! Any help is appreciated! I've tried the Known-issues channel and that didnt seem to fix anything.

Suhp, whenever ive been sharing my screen for a while, vesktop freezes up and turns to a fully grey window. Restarting it fixes it until it freezes again. Im using the default video settings in vesktop. Reinstalling didnt fix it

Since the last vesktop update, whenever I screenshare and do "Entire system" it captures the voice chat I'm currently in. Before this update it would capture everything but vesktop.

helloooo, having some weird issues with Vesktop currently. I'm on Arch Linux, so per the recent post I'm spoofing my user-agent, but now when I join a voice channel, everybody can hear me, but I can't hear them. There's no green outline when they talk, and the weirdest part is that their soundboard audios are still coming through. I'm lost. All of the device settings are configured properly. Any ideas?

Hi, using Vesktop on nobara linux and during screenshare, doesn't matter if window or whole screen, with audio, again no matter if it captures entire system or just the window, the audio sometimes spikes to high volume for split second. while it doesn't cause instability it can be mildly annoying

on the matter of screenshare, Vesktop sometimes likes to crash when I try to restream - close stream and then click on share again and then it causes freeze - sometimes audio on voice sirll works but then it crashes

lastly small thing, seems shadow of tomb raider window is not being detected and audio from there is not captured if share is ran through whole monitor.

the first two issues are the biggest occurrences, second one being unstable as well. third might be specific issue

You were right. I went through and deleted the vesktop\vencord specific icons and was able to assign it manually. Never realized these theme pack contain an obscene amount of unused image files >.<

Anyone knows how to enable hardware encoding on AMD, or if it's actually supported? Hardware acceleration option is missing under Voice and Video>Video. Is the option under Vesktop Settings also for screenshare or is that only for client performance? My stream seems to be H264. When I select any resolution it says 720p30 even though I have Nitro, though it does say 2160p60 for the viewer. Also often the quality is really bad even though I choose the highest resolution, with or without audio enabled, and other times the viewer will just get a green screen. I'm on Wayland, but how I understand it Discord/Vesktop doesn't run native. I'm on Nobara and I used the rpm (others say I should use Flatpak instead, not sure). Any tips or commands would be really appreciated.

The option in vesktop settings does enable hardware acceleration for screensharing
It doesn't actually improve client performance (in fact, its worse if theres something else using the gpu)

I'm actually dumb lol. I always thought H264 was CPU only, for some reason. So I guess HW acceleration is working as intended. Now the only problem is why my streaming quality is bad and why it sometimes turns into a green screen for the viewer (he is using native Discord on Windows).
