This is an odd one. All of a sudden today I can't seem to consistently copy from Vesktop. Copy Link, Copy ID, Copy Text, etc all don't seem to make it to my system clipboard. Bazzite (based on Fedora), KDE. I'm guessing this is something strange on my end, but is anyone else getting it?

Discord maintains a WebRTC/electron fork for their Desktop clients that fucks up decoding from a hardware accelerated chromium stream. This is reproducible from pure chromium. It should be reported to Discord so they can fix it but no one has bothered to deal with their support to do so.

I havent been able to stream properly using vesktop, it works very well in Discord latest regular client update with wayland but vesktops wayland stream is always poor quality and people tell me thats its simply unwacht-able

On the other hand tho, discords implementation doesnt let me choose an audio source and seems to grab whatever it likes?

Discord has their own proprietary capturer. if you want to use that, use the desktop app. Vesktop uses the chromium capturer. If it's low quality, it's likely you do not have working hardware encoding

it's also mentioned on a roadmap issue, but that issue hasn't gotten any edits since september last year

uhhh not really sure if common bug or no since friends dont seem to have it but i cannot get my screenshare or camera working at all recently on vesktop, though the stock app works fine
I think there's also a significant mic delay using vesktop instead for me

Audio on screenshare works though

Also im on endeavour linux with vesktop from pacman

prior to whenever it worked fine, albeit it took a lot of sitting on the loading for the other persons to see my screenshare, now it seems to not load like that either

It is a problem with a Vencord plugin. This is not a vesktop feature, stop arguing and use the right support channel or you'll lose access to both of them

Okay this is getting insane, it's pretty much impossible to stream now, if the stream doesn't fail to start it's just completely garbled, the quality is getting worse and worse and it's completely unpredictable when/why this happens. I know it's Vesktop because I've tried streaming from the official Discord app and it works fine, just no audio of course.

If it doesn't look like this, sometimes it turns completely green, or some kind of mix between the two. Audio is completely unaffected, even if the "Stream failed to start" popup shows up, audio still comes through.

I am using Vesktop via Bazzite, but for some reason when I open Vesktop, I get the little fox girl loading screen but the window doesn't display anything. Hey, I have an issue with Vesktop RPC not working.
I have Vesktop (From AUR), I've enabled rich presence in Vesktop settings, yet still nothing. And yes, I have disabled the arRPC plugin as well.

I've also ran Vesktop through the command line, ran tModLoader and still nothing.
If it's gonna help, this is the output from my terminal when launching Vesktop and then tModLoader after:

Any 1 have an idea why Vesktop is slow and laggy on MacOS? It's not because of my Mac, nor because of Styles because I removed those and retried. Lags occur when switching channels etc.

After updating to Vesktop 1.5.6 it no longer opens for longer than 2 seconds before becoming a blank screen. This is on Fedora 42 linux. The ui renders but as soon as its visible it just goes blank. Running in terminal did not net me any useful info either. Downgrading back to 1.5.5 makes it work like normal but its not preferrable to not be able to update it. I also tried the flatpak as well but it produces the same problem.

it looks like this now. Could this be an issue with Electron by chance? Pressing Control + r reloads the ui but it just reverts to blank after a few seconds again.

So i found something interesting

vesktop created a coredump which is also exactly the same no matter which client i use E.G Goofcord, Legcord as alternatives

and the only thing i see referenced in the coredump other than vesktop is glibc. That may prove that this is indeed nvidia related as i had a longwinded couple weeks talking back and forth between glibc devs and libglvnd devs due to the nvidia driver problem with 32bit opengl. The devs said that the nvidia driver does not play well with Fedora's new glibc and they will have to figure out where it went wrong.

Hello there, I am using Vesktop on Arch Linux and for some reason the VC Narrator doesn't work. As suggested in the plugin I downloaded both speech-dispacher and espeak but it still doesn't work when I try opening vesktop with the --enable-speech-dispathcer flag. Vesktop seems to mute my sound when I turn on streaming, also quality is super choppy no matter what settings i'm using.

same result with both fake nitro on/off. Vencord works just fine to stream with.

Anyone else having this issue?
