I've discovered something odd about this issue I was having

I popped over to my phone, and the issue isn't there.

I then popped over to my laptop which also has Vencord, and while it did have the issue for a while, it randomly fixed itself

I then went on Google to see if anyone else had experienced this, and I saw someone say "weird window size" was a cause

just now, I tried minimizing then maximizing my window, and sure enough for 3 frames I can see white dots in servers with unread messages before it quickly disappears

so no, it's not Vencord's fault, it's some Discord regression

but my windows aren't weirdly-sized, they're always maximized and always have been

Strangely, if I unmaximize my window, boom, there's the white dots

Vencord seems to have stopped playing videos for me. Standard (unmodded) Discord works fine, but installing Vencord causes all videos (even H264 encoded ones) to stop working. This wasn't an issue before, so I'm assuming an update to Vencord regressed something.

alr for the real reason I'm here, maybe a few months ago I enabled a plugin that allowed me to see whether a user had permissions in a Discord server, via a blue little tag to the right of their user, similar to bots "APP"
It would display "MODERATOR" "ADMIN" and "OWNER"
it was very useful for me because I mess around with bots and certain permissions require things like "manage server" discord permission which qualifies the user as a "moderator" or an "admin" it was helpful for other things too
So what I'm trying to get at here, it disappeared without notice and I couldn't find it again, either I'm blind or idk

I've checked #plugin-news, didn't see anything for it and I was wondering if someone per chance knew what happened to it, or what the plugin is called

Started facing the issue as well yesterday. Since I just made a few other breaking changes it took me quite a while to narrow it down to Vencord being the issue haha

Interesting: I just installed the flatpak for testing. There installing Vencord does not break the decryption. Guessing some incompatibility with system library versions?

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

I've also been having this issue since yesterday (mentioned it here, nobody seemed to notice). Specifically for all videos (even H264 encoded, so the known issues post isn't applicable), gifs work fine for me, however.
Nothing shows up in console, but for my issue, videos work perfectly fine on browser (with the userscript) and on Windows. My main PC is on Linux, and is having the issue specifically on the desktop app.

Hi, im having an issue with the desktop app version. I cant hear anyone on vc nor can anyone hear me if i join a VC through the modded app. I have a vanilla client on my browser and i can actually vc there, and today i launched discord after installing the 0.0.130 .deb package and joined a VC and it was working fine before installing vencord

Already tried disabling every plugin, changing a lot of settings, but i just cant seem to find what is causing this issue.

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

Seems like Discord is still running in the background. Make sure you close it fully. It will most likely be in your tray, but if not you can use your Task Manager to force close it. After that, you should be able to install Vencord properly.

Hi, I'm using the fakenitro plugin but every time I share above 60fps my screen share becomes incredibly choppy with low frames. Switching to 30fps fixes the issue. I was able to share at 60fps back in december, but after that the issue appeared. Doing a reinstall of vencord as well as disabling and then reenabling the plugin does not fix the issue
