Heya, normal discord opened when i had vencord installed previously and when i try to do the reinstall/repair thing on the installer it freezes it/doesnt work and when i try to do the basic install it says it installed but it didn't and it opened on vanilla discord

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

We have enough requests that all good and useful plugins have already been requested.

i've been trying to wade through the requests to see if there's one requesting that the voiced chat notifications for the visually impaired be able to be turned on or off for specific servers. does anyone know if this one has been suggested? i struggle a lot to use discord since the only options for the notifications are current channel and all servers (including muted servers) which makes it near useless... or if anyone knows of a workaround that could let me know?

Hi! This might sound weird, but I'm getting a lot of lag typing and navigating when using Discord with Vencord. I tried the stock app and the lag is gone. It’s strange because the same thing happens on Bazzite using Vesktop, but stock Discord works perfectly there too.

I've already tried using Vencord without any active plugins or themes, and the lag still happens.

Note: I thought it might be an issue with Windows and how it handles Chromium/Electron apps, but none of the solutions I found worked.

I found when without extension, there has no lagging in discord.
and when lagging, the entire page seems is lagging, not just for typing.
and the reason of the lagging, it seems the main thread of the page is busy by something, since discord itself has no lagging, probably it's some promise tasks or vencord's plugin keeping doing regex matching caused it

the solution may be replacing a higher IPC CPU, or reducing the regex matching or other tasks running while typing and move them into the js worker, or list the plugins which does this and recommend users turn off these plugins

in task manager, you can discovery with extension cpu usage is slightly higher than without extension

both in idle or working states. for example, under the situation of idle state, without extension the cpu usage is under 10%(of max the thread percentage it can use) and can keep at 0%, with extension the cup usage is 10%-50%(of max the thread percentage it can use) the min is 10%.
