Apparently the US, or at least some parts of it, have issues with letting your PC connect to Github during installations, so I turned on my free VPN to connect to some random country (it chose the Netherlands), clicked install, and it was clean and instant. No more issues.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

if the ctrl + shift + i keybind doesn't work, it's likely because a different program conflicts with the keybind. This is most commonly the AMD Radeon Software. If you have that, disable keybinds in it (see the video below)

hey, is there a way to disable vesktops built in arRPC client? I remember there being a toggle some time ago but cant seem to find it now. The reason I ask is I have discord installed as a flatpak as I prefer that but (as stated on the install page) flatpak messes up rich presence. It used to work well when I had arRPC running separately.

It would be cool if the VoiceChatDoubleClick plugin had an option where single-clicking a voice channel would open it without joining it (instead of just doing nothing, which to me looks like something's broken). Currently to do this you have to click Open Chat and then close the chat panel.

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

If that indeed fixes the lagging, you'll have to figure out which theme / part of your QuickCSS is causing the lag.Just slowly remove parts of it until it doesn't lag anymore.
