Honeslty, all I've wanted for Vencord is the.. friend online notification and alt+f4 to work normally like every other window.

AF4 will close Discord.exe. Using AF4 with anything else it just closes the active window and minimizes. An example would be 99% of programs but even windows, AF4 doesn't close explorer.exe, it will just close the active window. I believe it's how Discord is coded.
Right now I use a AHK to do it and works great, but it's the only thing I use AHK for so it's just kinda annoying is all.

But that option doesn't work. X and AF4 are different with Discord.
AF4 with Discord, it actually closes the software, not just the active window.
I use AF4 on my mouse and I can't tell you how amazing and fast it is.

now when they come online on discord and they obviously wont see the channel, and will get offline at some point. and if i make the channel public again, and they open the channel when they come online again, they wont see the text right?

Why is my Discord laggy?

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

We are not going to make a plugin to restore the old UI, do not ask/tell us to. There are numerous reasons:

1. There isn't exactly anything super wrong with the new UI, it will also get better at time, most of the complains I have seen just boil down to people not taking change well in general. The new UI will grow on you, it is a step in the right direction in terms of a more friendly and usable UI. It isn't even that different, just use it, no point kicking up a fuss, its never getting reverted.

2. It is not worth our time and effort.

• Maintaining this is just... not worth anything, not only does it just waste resources we could be spending elsewhere, this is a volunteer project, time is limited as is, we are not paid to go ahead and do all these big changes for you.
• We do not want to have to duplicate plugin code to make things look proper on both UIs, the refresh is dead, you need to accept that.

3. If you want this simply because Vencord isn't perfect with the new UI, just wait, diverting attention to add a plugin to revert the new UI (which is not exactly super easy anyway) rather than just fixing what is wrong with Vencord is just backwards logic.

Asking about this in the support channel is just a waste of everyones time, it isn't happening. Learn to accept it and move on, this never was a big deal, a few themes broke, a couple of vencord plugins needed some changes. You cannot live your life in the past, you have to move on.

For anyone with visual issues asking: Evie (lovely soul) made a fix that works well enough and you can find it in #🎨-css-snippets. I use it with the following settings and a compact UI. It obviously messes with some of the surrounding visuals being bigger but is a fix that works for myself. Hopefully this helps someone as it helped me. You can use oldcord but it breaks a lot of features and Evie's fix is much better and is supported. Hope this helps others as well <3

Channel has been temporarily locked due to the removal of the old UI experiment.

This was a Discord feature, we cannot restore it, we apologise if you do not like the new UI,' but its not feasible for us to provide tools to be able to revert this.

Not only is it a pain to do, its even harder to maintain as Discord makes additional changes and involves us in putting extra work into the plugins to make them look good on both UIs.

Not only is it just a large amount of work in the short term, its almost impossible in the long term. The plug has to be pulled eventually, either by us, after we "support" it temporarily (though again, this would take far too much work) or now, as Discord removed the experiment.

The old UI is gone, its not coming back, I don't think any of y'all truly understand how much work it would take to get it back in Discord, we are a volunteer project, we aren't paid to do this, we provide Vencord for everyone free of charge, this isn't a fulltime job, maybe if it was things would be different.

You have to accept the old UI being gone sooner or later, if you don't like specific things, do keep in mind Discord is still working on the UI, it will improve, things you don't like maybe will get better. You are much better off giving Discord feedback rather than complaining to us!

We are a client mod after all, we mod Discord, Discord still makes the client!
