Hello! Both me and my girlfriend are having issues with Vesktop on Arch Linux.
Everything works fine, but every so often on starting a screen sharing session, Vesktop will crash, giving:

We both use KDE Plasma, we tried running Vesktop both on Wayland and Xwayland.
The versions we tried are Flatpak, AppImage, and AUR. All latest, all present the issue.

We both have AMD GPUs, I have an 7800 XT, she has an RX 580.

It's worth saying, maybe, that this happens sporadically - sometimes it works fine. The crashes happen more often on her system, though.

this is either an issue with Plasma or Chromium / Electron

it will probably fix itself in a future version of either one

so if it only happens rarely, your best bet is just ignoring it for now and waiting for fix

• try turning off customrpc, chances are it is overriding the lastfm presence
• make sure that your listening activity is public on lastfm
• also on lastfm make sure that the currently playing track is “Scrobbling now”

I dont know if this is a vencord thing, but for a while now randomly in calls I wont be able to talk, and sometimes I am cut off mid sentence. If I have my camera on or someone else in the call does, then their screen freezes for me and they can't hear me. All I have to do is restart discord, so is there a way to fix this? 1. Make sure discord is fully closed in task manager (or tray)
2. Press "take me there"
3. If the folder is named after your username, delete it
4. Reinstall Discord
5. Try installing vencord again

whenever I try to patch discord with Vencord, it says succesfully patched despite closing out of discord completely and restarting it- however when I go back into discord after it has "succesfully" patched, I find both my mic disabled in the desktop app, but also that the vencord category is actually nowhere to be found in my discord settings at all-

I want a feature using Vencord that allows Ctrl+Clicking a server icon or channel name (when OpenAsar Multi-instance is enabled) to open a new discord instance using OpenAsar and open the chat there.

As an example to understand what I'm looking for, it's something closer to a feature in Telegram Desktop, where you can ctrl+click on a chat to open it in a new window.

Hi there, about the file picker not going through xdg-desktop-portal to discover the KDE file picker, and instead opening the lame GTK file picker, I found this.

When the Vesktop Flatpak updated the AppImage from v1.5.3 to v1.5.4 about 3 weeks ago, it included a newer version of Electron, going from v31.1.0 to v33.2.1, which introduced this issue. This might be resolved once xdg-desktop-portal releases v1.20.0 (and in your case, when SteamOS gets a new release that includes it).
For now, if KDE file picker is a priority, you can use the Vesktop AppImage to get it back. Otherwise, it seems the issue is known upstream.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Hello, where should I report an extension-related issue that happens in a specific place and might be related to the way something is done in vesktop ?

Basically in a popout window the chat that's associated with a vc will have MessageLogger display deleted messages with no style (so they look like regular messages), which doesn't happen when you open said chat in the main window.
