could just be because discord on linux is bad. if you have an nvidia gpu, that could also be causing problems. you may want to try vesktop.

Need help with vesktop screen sharing on latest debian with kde plasma

The flatpak wont let me share the screen at all for some reason, the menu pops up and I click share but nothing happens and doesn't do anything when I press the screen share button again.

I tried the deb file a while back and think it worked the same as the flatpak

Using the tar files works, just that it says my c++ library is too old to run venmic, and it wont share the audio but everything else is fine.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

I'm using vesktop on linux and I'm kind of having issues with presence on a vsc plugin, I say kinda as I'm not sure if it's a vesktop issue or an issue with vsc. I have a plugin on Visual Studio Code that shows what I'm editing on discord but it's not able to connect to discord as I assume I'm not using the native app. Does anyone know either a plugin that supports vesktop or a way to fix this? I reported it to Vesktop GitHub but they claimed it was a system issue and to report it to Venmic. However getting the logs I hadn't gotten to because logs aren't enabled by default so I have to do it at another time

Possibly specifically an Arch KDE Wayland bug with the latest packages. As it only started happening post a few days ago when I did a full system update. It's possibly related to pipewire or at least that's my guess and Venmic not being updated for it for the specific distro. However that's my guess. As no changes happened besides updating the system

Was working perfectly fine a week ago pre-update. It also does work with the AppImage so I don't think it's Wayland but rather a package update.

Pipewire also does error out in console when starting screen share with this latest update as well. However I don't know if that error existed pre pipewire update and I don't believe that error even relates to the issue because it also occurs in the AppImage where screen sharing audio works.

In any case if anyone wants to try and reproduce. It's latest stable Arch kernel, latest stable KDE Plasma, latest package dependencies through pacman and yay (aur) and test AUR and Flatpak screen share audio.
