Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

The most common cause of lag is poorly written CSS.

To see if this is the case for you, try temporarily disabling all themes and your QuickCSS.

id recommend uninstalling vencord from your discord, then following these steps:

1. close discord from your system tray by clicking on the up arrow in your taskbar & right clicking the discord logo and clicking quit discord. close any browser discord tabs too, and then check your task manager and make sure all instances of discord are closed there as well.
2. win key & r at the same time & paste %AppData%/Discord & hit the return key
3. delete the discord folder
4. win key & r at the same time & paste %LocalAppData%/Discord & hit the return key
5. delete the discord folder
6. empty recycling bin
7. restart pc
8. redownload discord

then re patch discord with the vencordinstaller and try the theme again. if it still doesn't work id say its an issue with how the theme is interacting with windows devices, so make an issue on https://github.com/synqat/vencord-theme so the theme dev can investigate further.

Hmmm yeah I didn't have this issue and unfortunately I'm not a tech wizard in this way so I'm not real sure where to look for Vesktop logs. But a simple troubleshooting suggestion I could make would be to try the other available package formats for installing and see if you experience the same issue

If you're currently using the Flatpak, I would download the .deb from the releases page on Github and install that and try that. You can also download the AppImage from the same page and try that too

Seems like Discord is still running in the background. Make sure you close it fully. It will most likely be in your tray, but if not you can use your Task Manager to force close it. After that, you should be able to install Vencord properly.
