Hello! Sorry for the aboslute noob question but how do i got about repatching discord after its done an update the correct way?. Im using the curl command in the linux download page to install / reinstall currently, however it says "patched" already when i run it so im guessing its notthe right way (?)

Hey, does the FakeNitro team lurk in these channels? I wanted to request a fix for the FakeNitro plugin, basically the stupid hang status feature, you can use custom emojis without nitro if you used the hang before (no mods etc) but making it requires you to enter a VC and do it then join your external vc back since discord added a nitro check to the create page.

Anyways, where do I post that for them here, or like is there a good repo to make an issue or what?

Hello! I did read known issues and faq and i didnt find my issue, i hope you dont mind me posting here!

Im running into an issue with screen share on linux. Im new to linux and was just looking to give an old laptop some extra longevity.
Im using Vesktop, i have fedora 40 and GNOME as my distro and de. And i suspect its a gpu/graphics bug? But im running Intel integrated graphics, which were supposed to be packed in. Has anyone ran into the screen share for watchers looking like this?

don't worry about that, linux may be a bit troubling when you're not so sure about what you're doing on it, but what i can say to you is that pipewire has some good advantages over pulseaudio, for example, it handles both audio and video streams, making it a more versatile option, also it has very low latency, and has pulseaudio compatibility

Make sure you close Discord before trying to patch!"

Seems like Discord is still running in the background. Make sure you close it fully. It will most likely be in your tray, but if not you can use your Task Manager to force close it. After that, you should be able to install Vencord properly.

I'm currently operating on Linux Fedora 40 with an RTX 3090 Ti and an i9-12900K and for the longest time, have noticed that my Discord application (when minimized) appears to attempt to "save resources" by pausing the process which inadvertently halts Discord's functionality, freezes everything, and then if it fails to unfreeze after a good sum/period of time, effectively restarts. This is not caused by Vesktop, as it occurs on the regular Discord platform and am simply seeking advice

the issue you're experiencing could be related to several factors, including system resource management, or gpu driver compatibility

try updating fedora with

sudo dnf update

and making sure you got the drivers for the nvidia gpu

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

my vencord doesn't seem to be working at all, i js got a window's update and i did it and right after the restart i can't seem to use vencord at all, doing the repair option in vencord app uninstalling and reinstalling both vencord and discord restarting my laptop nothing seem to work at all
