Seems like Discord is still running in the background. Make sure you close it fully. It will most likely be in your tray, but if not you can use your Task Manager to force close it. After that, you should be able to install Vencord properly.

Screenshare itself works, but audio does not. I can see new interfaces created with pipewire passing through to Chromium input-1. If I connect output to the mic then I can hear it through that, but not native screensharing feature. Sound is coming out the speakers as well.

Using Vencord on EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma, session type is X11, and pipewire.

I'm sure everyone is sick of these. Feels like I'm pretty close to it working though.

EDIT: It seems to be playing if I monitor the output, but when I join the call from a second device, there's no audio.

the solution I found is: enabling it, restart, agree to access your profile ( if it gives you an error - disable the plugin and restart), enable again and restart and it should work.

Hello, Vescord server! (sorry if this message turns out too long) I have a question:

Using the unholy combination of Debian 12 + GNOME + Wayland + Vesctop package from Flathub, it doesn't seem to like desktop capture very much. It summons the usual screensharing window, and correctly places the yellow icon on the top bar, but the stream doesn't start and the button becomes unresponsive, unless i restart discord.
I read through github issues, and really found only one report ( #77, aka this one https://github.com/Vencord/Vesktop/issues/77) that is kinda similar to my case, but here i only get the window once, and it straight up just doesn't let me start it at all. Checked flatseal, but i don't really see anything that would prevent it from initiating the capture.

Okay so I've had this same issue for about a week, no one has given me any help besides saying to go and use dev tools which are DISABLED due to family link, ever since I decided to combine a few themes I screwed up something and now I can no longer access settings without turning VenCord off. If there was any way to suggest features I'd suggest a "Quick Theme Editor" section in the VenCord toolbox to turn on and off themes but sadly I can't. If I see that dev tools code ONE MORE TIME after stating this issue I might absolutely lose it so please DO NOT SEND IT.

Which since I can no longer access settings I physically CANNOT turn the themes off, I've even removed and added this god foresaken chrome extension multiple times at this point but it just won't get fixed unless something is done about it.

This message is misleading. Run sudo chown -R "${USER}:wheel" /Applications/Discord.app in your terminal, then run the installer again afterwards.

You may also need to grant Terminal.app (and friends) full disk access for the operation to work properly.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it
