are you sure you're not using Vesktop? Vencord worked pretty out of the box on mac, Vesktop needed some Terminal persuasion to run and not get deleted by macOS

Question for anyone. Currently using vesktop on archlinux running pipewire on KDE plasma wayland and i cant screenshare at all. The button doesnt seem to do anything. Works perfectly fine on X11. I saw an issue thread that was resolved for sway on the vesktop github repo but it didnt seems to help.

This message is misleading. Run sudo chown -R "${USER}:wheel" /Applications/Discord.app in your terminal, then run the installer again afterwards.

You may also need to grant Terminal.app (and friends) full disk access for the operation to work properly.

@orchid tusk I got Vesktop working with the code snippet that's in this issue: https://github.com/Vencord/Vesktop/issues/184 , you can try switching the path out for the installer and pray for the best I guess. Fixed Vesktop, might fix your problem too.

You can also delet the blur by editing the file source.css imported in TranslucencePlus.theme.css

to do that you need to download the source.css imported in the main css file:

In it you get (ligne 3) --app-blur: 6px;
change it to your liking (eg. 0) and change the import in the main css file (TranslucencePlus.theme.css) to

I just installed vencord (previously had BetterDiscord)

Im really missing the functionality I had via a custom PinedDM plugin on BD, and I see that Vencord PinDM function dosnt quite work the same way. but I would love a way to pinDMs to my server list.

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

Why does my Discord always crash when opening DevTools?

This is a stock Discord issue. There is nothing we can do

However, here are some solutions that should work:

Many people have stated that opening devtools while Discord is still loading prevents the crashing
Devtools work fine in Vencord's custom client, Vesktop, or just your web browser - you can use the Vencord browser extension
It seems to be an issue exclusive to Windows. You could try switching to Linux

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Vencord isn't working! :(

The most likely cause is that your install is outdated. Check if there's any updates. You can either do so using our inbuilt updater, or if you cannot get there due to crashes or similar, use the "Update Vencord" in the Installer.

If you're all up to date, try reinstalling with the installer anyway!

And if it now still doesn't work, please let us know in our support server

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

Why does my Discord always crash when opening DevTools?

This is a stock Discord issue. There is nothing we can do

However, here are some solutions that should work:

Many people have stated that opening devtools while Discord is still loading prevents the crashing
Devtools work fine in Vencord's custom client, Vesktop, or just your web browser - you can use the Vencord browser extension
It seems to be an issue exclusive to Windows. You could try switching to Linux

When joining voice channels, I get "RTC Connecting"

Cause is unknown, so there is no real fix.

However, a simple workaround that fixes it temporarily is to click the text that says RTC Connecting, then click Debug. Close the page that opens again and it should now be fixed!

Note that you need Discord Developer Mode (Discord Settings > Advanced > Developer Mode) enabled to do this!

yello, im trying to use the plugin for the custom rich presences, and it seems to not be working... I currently have done all the steps, including setting up the application id and the like (alongside the rich presence image) (incase this changes things, im currently running discord off the AUR package since... i use arch btw......). I've also closed and relaunched discord proper and it hasn't fixed itself :/

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

For Vencord issues:

If you are able to, run the /vencord-debug slash command
If not, provide the following info:
- How are you using Vencord? (Discord Desktop, Browser (name your browser!!), Vencord Desktop, ArmCord, ...)
- What OS are you using?
Open the DevTools with Ctrl + Shift + i (Cmd + Option + i on MacOs) and check the console tab for red error messages

This message is misleading. Run sudo chown -R "${USER}:wheel" /Applications/Discord.app in your terminal, then run the installer again afterwards.

You may also need to grant Terminal.app (and friends) full disk access for the operation to work properly.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

guys help in an attempt to escape from the new discord update i downloaded a theme but i dont like it (it didnt have a prwiveiw button) and i would disable it but it has trapped me and i cannot go to stetings, ctrl - and ctrl + dont work, neither does chnaging screen res or going into https://discord.com/settings cus goofy ahh discord changed the settings link

My themes broke and now I can't open settings or disable them

open the dev tools with CTRL + Shift + i and click on the "console" tab at the top. Then paste and run (with enter) the following code.

It will

disable custom css (you can turn it back on in Vencord Settings)
copy your current theme links to your clipboard as a backup
remove all themes

When joining voice channels, I get "RTC Connecting"

Cause is unknown, so there is no real fix.

However, a simple workaround that fixes it temporarily is to click the text that says RTC Connecting, then click Debug. Close the page that opens again and it should now be fixed!

Note that you need Discord Developer Mode (Discord Settings > Advanced > Developer Mode) enabled to do this!
