However, here are some solutions that should work:

• Many people have stated that opening devtools while Discord is still loading prevents the crashing
• Devtools work fine in Vencord's custom client, Vesktop, or just your web browser - you can use the Vencord browser extension
• It seems to be an issue exclusive to Windows. You could try switching to Linux

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

Im having an issue where discord randomly 'closes', it doesent seem to be when im doing something specific. Its happening very frequently now which makes it unusable so Im using vesktop for now. I cant open discord for some time after it happens and in task manager it opens as a background process then closes immediately after. Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

I noticed when I'm using Vencord my notifications (even pings) don't notify me. I tried to debunk if it is a Vencord issue by uninstalling it briefly and sure enough, when I got pinged it notified me. I also have a video proof of it not working.

or, warning rather

its just telling you there would be no problems unless:
a. you are running the installer as administrator
b. you have UAC set to "never notify" (google it if you don't know what it means)

It was just to warn that every time I do a discord stream in 2k60fps thanks to Vencord, it appears a lot in gray (perfect example in the photo where I was doing a Fortnite stream)

And strangely when I put my stream in 720p 30 fps (basic resolution) there are no more grays

Why do I get logged out after opening DevTools?

Discord tries to protect you from getting scammed by "hiding" your token when you open DevTools, which means it deletes it from storage and only keeps it in memory in order to make it harder to obtain.

If you now close discord before closing DevTools again, your token will not be saved anywhere anymore and as a consequence you will be logged out

Solution: Close DevTools before closing discord or better yet enable the NoDevtoolsWarning plugin which removes this "feature"

Question regarding Message Logger

It has been this way for quite a while, and persists even into the new update. Example is, one server I'm in has General, Memes, Media, and Bot Commands channels open to all. If a bot shows up spamming something, only General gets logged, the rest of the channels show there's a new message, because there was, but when I go into the channel, nothing is there.

Tested it with a friend where he went into the memes channel, posted a message, and deleted it, and it would light up to show a new message, but going in there, it was completely gone, not logged. Is there a way to make it log everything that gets deleted? Or is it preset to just specifically named channels?

Just wanted to report that linux screenshare audio still isnt working on arch (manjaro). Not sure why not - the virtual mic is showing up for sure, stream is showing up for others, but listening to the output (either entire system or just the application), no output is found. Interestingly, I do get some activity on the mic if I click? But nothing I can hear.
