but this function i patched is used for many other context menus i didnt realise

the discord desktop app has a hard memory limit of 2gb regardless of your system. if it gets over 2gb it crashes. discord doesn't know how to not use 3 million terabytes of memory so this happens somewhat frequently if you are in a ton of servers and have it open for a long time

solution is to use a platform without the 2gb limit, such as discord in your web browser, the vencord desktop custom app, armcord, webcord, etc

as such it's potentially risky and has been removed

you can Vencord.Settings.plugins.PermissionsViewer.unsafeViewAsRole = true in devtools to egt it back, but it's at your own risk

i'm making edits to a custom theme of mine and i'm hosting it on github, and i use raw.githubusercontent.com/<username>/<repo>/<branch>/theme.css to point to the latest version of my CSS file. if i commit and push to edit the css file, i have to go to the vencord settings, make the url invalid so it defaults back to the normal theme and then make the url valid again so it fetches the newer version of the file. if i instead just reload (ctrl+r, not fully restarting) the client without going to the vencord settings, it uses the cached version of my theme instead of fetching the new one. it's kinda annoying

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it
