Debatable, let's say for the sake of argument there are two kinds of FPS realistic & arcade.
The finals is very much an arcade shooter, so is O.W. Apex, & rivals
Cs:Go P.U.B.G even CoD tries to be realistic, although Cod is at the bottom of The spectrum about to cross over to arcade.
Again embark created an evolutionary masterpiece with their original design mixing Battle Royale & S&D very effectively. 30%, or just High S.W. in general was great design. Sure you can say a team doing well the entire round shouldn't get punished at the end but there's a reason the rest of the industry tried to mimic a Battle Royale style. Krafton caught lighting in a bottle, & evolved FPS games and loosened the grip CoD had with its run & gun style. Even they had to embrace the new mode, & stop relying on zombies to carry the franchise.
Apex was the next evolution to P.U.B.G & that game did much better thanks to its utility and mechanics, P.U.B.G quickly became dated, but also mainly because developers couldn't fix bug issues, or give new content, Fortnight capitalized on what both did wrong/poorly, while I honestly only liked the game before it added a royale, even with the minimum time I have in it I can see they have the best devs in the industry giving utility for a arcade experience, & amazing cosmetics/fan service.
Yes I agree The Finals isn't O.W. or anything like it, but it is an arcade game & took note of what other arcade games did well, & needed.
Mercy, lifeline = Heals , Gibby, reinhart = shield , Octane, Junkrat = mobility
The game mixed both flawlessly & masterfully sprinkled in a little bit of Cs:Go. Embark managed to put an objective in what feels like a battle Royale. something The genre needed as the final circle always felt a bit cheesy especially the higher up in rank you went(Apex). Just a bunch of rats camping for placement, kinda like high Elo in ranked. They only do work on the first two sets of vaults & coast for the third A.K.A. the Plug Meta
Having High S.W. was also a good choice because it made the objective, & kills matter.
Coins hardly matter anymore outside of an Ego, or just arrogant push, with the occasional although minuscule moment where you need that extra 3 to 5K...
S.W. need to matter in the finals & right now they just don't, Not in Ranked, W.T., Or quick cash
For the most part it's actually just strategic to just die & S.W. & that's the biggest flaw design the game has right now after turning it's back on utility, & it's ordinal design.
O.W. died after all the nerfs, & they had to bring the day one design back to actually please fans, unfortunately too little too late, & poorly implemented... Marvel Rivals learned from that mistake & will not take a CoD approach & nerf everything, instead they will focus on counter plays, & buffs something Embark should have done.
T.A. ranked was the worse the game was at period, 0 Defib, 0 Heal B., 0 regeneration, Like any good Royal The game needs all, or tools to do all effectively. Light had more than enough offensive capability to dominate those lobbies, the only reason they wouldn't work in High Elo is poor coordination, & tracking. CashOut was a new game & many didn't know the best way to play the hand delt.
