I feel like I'm going crazy bringing this up over and over, but it's only getting worse. The performance in this game is completely unacceptable for an E-Sports style FPS game, and the new map is somehow even WORSE. If you don't have a 7800x3D CPU, you can expect this game to completely fall apart when in a fight. The new map drops my FPS down to 70 or lower and I'm on a 5600x, which is a generally good gaming CPU. Games on the same engine routinely get better fps, and other FPS games like Apex, Fortnite, COD, Splitgate, BattleBit Remastered, all run 100x better. COD in particular has always been a PC optimization mess so I'm surprised that it's better than this.

I'm just gonna say it, this game is the E-Sports shooter equivalent of Jedi Fallen Order's disgustingly poor CPU performance and I don't say that lightly. Embark please for the love of god do something. I know you've made improvements with each season, but it's not even close to enough. The game only runs a little bit better than the Open Beta which is saying something. The game just isn't stable and it's hard to enjoy on any system but the very best.

Since i cant post media here or open a bug report, typing here, just played final round twice. After we captured second cashout in the final round game went on instead of ending, we somehow got 27k and enemy team had 1500. Round counted as 2nd knockout round and we proceeded to "final round" (meaning we played final round twice). Got a last minute of bugged round recorded tho.

I play on PS5, and ever since the game came out, I can't rebind the jump button, because if I do so, I can no longer revive using a coin or navigate through menus that require an 'X' input, because the game things that 'X' or 'Jump' is no longer binded.

in the powershift game i just finished i could see every single person on the map via the sonar grenade effect
even after they die (invisible body ragdolls spinning in circles) and even right when they spawn

we had three lights, but even if they all ran sonar grenades theres no way they could have covered literally the entire map at all times constantly with no downtime
ive never had that bug before but we won the game easily since we knew where every player was and where they were coming from

Is there a short term fix for the Finals Mic Volume Bug? The one where the game lowers your mic volume to 10 every minute or so? Cause its getting really annoying to have to minimize the game and turn it back up every other minute, sometimes have to double down because it immediately defaults to 10 after setting it back to 100.

I saw a Reddit Post about this issue with a short term fix being to set your Headset/Microphone to default through Nividia broadcast if you have a Nividia graphics card, however that doesn't seem to work anymore.

@ancient moat i had the same problem while playing tarkov i kind of forgot what i did but i also had a focusrite 2i2. I think changing the bitrate or whatever the settings called in focusrite app then changing the power to the 2i2 to a different port on my pc. I read if you have a lot of stuff plugged in ur pc it can make some ports less powerful causing stutters

only when playing the finals and probably when discord is open… my pc will freeze for a few seconds (some say its audio drivers catching up) (i have a focusrite 2i2) and then audio becomes delayed ab 5 seconds on discord and the finals loses audio. i have disabled all other audio drivers and confirmed my default communication device. yet this happens very very often and i have to shuffle from alt tabbing to resetting my audio interface to restarting the game/ computer to fix it.

after the stuttering the finals likes to switch my voice chat input device to something not plugged in so i believe there is something with the client that is confused about my audio setup, which should be straightforward. not using any virtual audio cables or anything just my audio interface to usb. This has been happening a WHILE so some suggestions would be lovely.

one last idea: check that everyone has set the server region to the same region (and not set on Automatic. E.g. if you are all in EU, tell everyone to set the region to EU).
also, i don't have a playstation but i've heard you can minimise the game and go into the playstation home menu or whatever, which from what I've heard can also introduce issues when queuing up for a game; so, I'd also tell everyone to not minimise the game while queuing and see if that changes anything (I guess this is rather a shot in the dark though).

Still in the loading screen after the match starts, but i can hear all the audio and chat with teammates, but cannot move or leave the game. See the picture.

When in a party the game is preventing matchmaking because I'm "allegedly" stopping the matchmaking when I'm just chilling. Only workaround to this is for me to be the group leader.

Not receiving invites in game after playing a match or two and after some time (like 5 min or so) I get a bulk of invites suddenly. Only workaround to this is to get invites through Steam.

When in a party and not being the leader I cannot see people being added and removed to / from the party after I have joined. Only workaround is to be the party leader.

Getting stuck in the tournament screen when finishing the first round of a tournament. There is no workaround, you gotta wait for the game to kick you and then you can rejoin. If you try restarting the game, you get a ban.

I have already reported the spike lag problem several times, the less network upload bandwidth you have the harder the spike lag will be. But it is definitely a problem with the finals, no other online game do that, in fact in other games the upload always remains stable, exactly like the green download line as you can see in the graph in my original post.

Your speed on paper does not dictate what actual speeds, jitter, or packet loss you experience on production. There are ...thousands of us... that have no connection issues at all to Embark servers. Blanket blaming the game and it's servers is unfortunately not the answer, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and prove-out your connection.

A good exercise is running diagnostics in the background while the game is running. There are freewares such as pingplotter for this, you can set ping targets and leave it running to log data. If you see -any- dropped packets or latency that hits much above 80ms, you will start to see impact from it. Google DNS is a good target to ping (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) since you will always get a nearby hop when resolving it.

Thank you but I have done this and haven't found anything causing latency or dropped packets. In this case I am pretty sure it is def on embarks side because I have played at least 20 games and asked every teammate if they are lagging like crazy every game and over half of them said yes and its unplayable. Even my IRL friends are lagging lol.. I am thinking something is stressing the NAE server out cause thats where most the complaints are coming from. I'm in NA region as well, and it isn't one server there, it's an army of them. Are you saying you ran pings and netgraph while playing the game? What were the results? Are you certain it wasn't Kyoto every time either? There is a noticable difference in performance on some systems as that map has a lot of polys and textures (even Ottr notices and comments on this on stream)

Ah, ok so you have not actually looked then. Resource monitor and task manager both show some good live graphs, however they do not test a connection strength. That requires sending an echo (ICMP) to a target, to test it's transit time or lack of (lost packet). You do that from a command prompt (ping -t 8.8.8.8, stop with ctrl+c for summary) or (from Linux terminal ping 8.8.8.8, ctrl+c for summary) or use a tool that sends actual pings or traceroute for you (like pingplotter). You will never know if you drop packets from looking at either tool you mentioned, or see a real time spike in transit time since both are taking snapshots at intervals. Hope this helps ..

Reconnected players don't get suspended
If a player doesn't join or to be precise reconnect within 10-15 mins then issues a suspension.

Maybe if a thread is opened for this issue where players report their sys specs, it could help the devs identify the problem.

I like the fact that when we load the game back, the only option is to reconnect which discourages quitters but even after reconnecting neither does your score register ( it's all dash - - - - - K A D R) and the system still suspends the player

Additionally there is one more bug, let's say you play a round as a light using thermal vision, in the end round card display... Your teammates are seen in thermal, player features white out - not a game breaking bug but something I noticed while trying to level up thermal vision

Hi, I have an issue but not sure where to report it, or get some helps. Basically, after last patch my game has been randomly crashing/closing by itself in middle of matches and it has been a continuous occurence. Probably an issue with quick melee. Apparently there are work arounds for arena carriables by just lighting stuff on fire by shooting instead of throwing but no confirmation. As for quick melee its my last circuit challenge so ik how you feel . #⚡┇the-finals-chat message

Very strange bug I encountered. Pressing enter to chat shrunk my screen size to 1920x1080 (I play on a 2k monitor) and didn't open the chat window--this also worked on most of the menus except for while I was rebinding text chat to the enter key. I got curious and closed the game while shrunk using the X button and it sent a crash report instead of closing normally. Upon relaunch the game was still in the windowed mode (it was recognized in my settings) but the bug was gone and fixing my settings was fine.

I was playing heavy with sledgehammer and when I spawned in my weapon was invisible. If I looked down I saw that my character model was standing still and kept facing one way. I could still use my weapons, I couldn't use ziplines. Then I respawned and it looked normal, but my winch claw was invisible for the rest of the match. Also, at the end the skin of my rocket launcher was inside my sledgehammer skin.

We are mad about TA taking over ranked is that it feels like betrayal of the original game we all spent money on and spent time on. If they can and will add tacked on modes which copy (poorly) other games like R6 or CSG, etc halfway through a season and then suddenly make that new trashy throw away mode the only Ranked mode possible, then what else can/will they change in the future? Will they make guns unlocked by $$$? Will they just go full COD or add Battleroyale? Etc, etc, etc... I frankly don't want to play TA. I didnt like TA and now seeing how theyve changed the core mode to TA for Ranked, I dont feel like i can trust them at all anymore. They claim Cashout is still the core experience for The Finals, but how can I be sure they wont just remove it entirely if people started playing TA more? Okay, now THIS is infuriating -- There are matches, where when I switch classes during power shift, that it WON'T let me use my special device chosen (default, "Q" button). Kind of hard to platy the game, when the whole time, that device is faded and unable to be used. I've posted on a different thread regarding this - instead of quitting the game try to get booted for player inactivity. Then try to reconnect - if successful you get back in the match(probably will lose if it's the last match in a WT tournament 😭) buttt you will retain points and xp and MOST IMPORTANTLY get no suspension afterwards - every time I had to quit the game and reconnected, no xp and suspension after rejoining - pretty sure the devs will iron this out but meanwhile this could help you from the suspension issues which is a sore issues

@sullen surge maybe the player didn't leave but experienced the loading screen freeze issues. I don't understand players leaving right in the beginning after the match loads 😅

@wanton timber dude try playing light and using the suppressed submachine gun, I think the meele contract - it's somehow tied to the contract - probably a coding bug, getting kills with the weapon finished the contract for me

@left forge this bug has been happening for sometime, pretty sure the bug will get ironed out eventually... But if you're playing World tour make sure instead of quitting the game and reconnecting - get the game to boot you for inactivity - then reconnect - this will let you in back on the action and not get suspended. - if you do quit the game because of the issue, it might place you on SUSPENSION for quitting a tournament or ranked match.

@oblique quest and @soft rapids have created bug-reports so follow them so we can get the attention of the devs. Regarding your problem, @soft rapids has suggested that if you are in a gamemode which you can be banned let you game disconnect you for inactivity, that way you don't get suspended.

I think they need to fix the crashes before anything else. This is serious, as it is game breaking. I enjoy the game, but I might take a break if this keeps happening.

I have now tried The Finals (present update) on 4 different computers. INTEL i9 and AMD Ryzen 9, minimum 3080 Ti, minimum 32GB of RAM. Three were NVidia, 1 was AMD Radeon. All of the computers have had the same crashing.

I've not faced any crashes or even any lag issues like the ones people report on the Kyoto map- though I play on all medium settings

Can you recall any consistencies with the crashes. Are they random. Are they on the same map. Areas. Textures can cause these types of problems. And again me personally never had the issues. But it is entirely possible it’s a texture issue. If you can narrow down a possible cause or a consistency in the issues then it’ll help the bug fix team figure out what it is and find a solution

Rarely are these issues tied to the game themselves. It specified specifically in your error code that the GPU was the component having an issue. Which really does make it sound like a hardware problem that needs to be fixed. Power supply. Cables. Connection pins. Motherboard. Who knows. The only thing for sure is that somewhere in your GPU there’s a problem

Virtually all maps. Virtually in different instances. Upon replication, it can be upon key actions, and it can be upon mouse movements that would create the freeze. I certainly doubt it is from limitations of the GPU/CPU/RAM/BIOS/Drivers, as all are updated regularly (And checked as of 6/22/2024)

Considering that all 4 computers tested are of different CPUs/GPUs/Chipsets/Etc.? And considering that I am NOT the only person currently facing this issue? Especially with a 4090 Super being among the GPUs used in this battery? I am having a hard time believing that it's simply a texture issue.

I have even checked to see if it's a problem with mice/keyboards (12 different keyboards, 15 different mice). Uninstall/re-install, as one would do along with resets. Again, no dice.

And again, considering there are a number of us who all face the same issue? This is hardly coincidence. It's not like we are all running potatoes for rigs.

I for one am basically running a potato compared to your stuff and am not suffering from issues. I have heard of problems where higher end computers have issues meanwhile lower end ones don’t. It might have to do with the game optimization being catered towards lower end parts so that it would be available to more people. It’s definitely an issue. But I’ve never suffered from this issue and neither has anyone else I know. Including people with high end PCs. As the devs have stated recently about another bug (the healing beam issue I believe) they need to be able to replicate the problem and find a pattern. If there’s no pattern even if they can replicate the crashes the bug cannot be fixed. I would honestly just keep trying hardware related solutions until it’s either solved or they put out a patch that might fix it. In any case I don’t think it’s as wide spread as you make it seem. It sounds like a case of survivor bias IMO. Where only the people who have the issue say anything about it. It could be a majority in either camp. Crash or no crash. Unfortunately I do not have any connections with Embark lol. This is all just one fan trying to help another. I’ve never given up hope on the finals and will continue to play it as it is. It’s only in my case that a smaller simpler to fix bug which I can replicate and identify a pattern in with this deflection stuff. Definitely an easier fix and would be a help to fans of the dual katanas.

Only, there's just one thing: Everything is updated. And Intel Profile for Intel i9. AMD Profiles and Ryzen 9s and Threadripper. Already read. And Season 3 is the only updates that have given me these issues. I can pretty much run about anything on the Threadripper Rig, for certain. I have no problems checking one more time, for the laughs.

@restive marten In this case, I am literally capturing all of it, to send to Embark. At first, it was other people with these issues, and in the last week, I too started having the issues; in both rig and laptop chipsets. I figure, if I capture enough? I can give them something to tinker with.

I would really appreciate if some attention was taken towards this bug I keep encountering, as it does affect my gameplay quite a lot and it is super annoying for both me and my friends. When playing Power Shift, if I die (and say I was playing Light) if i then try to change my loadout to the heavy, and while the loadout customizer was open the person I am spectating dies, the game will show that I am editing the heavy's loadout, but switch all of the weapons back to Light, and the only way to fix it is to reselect my Light loadout and click back onto the Heavy. This has been annoying me and two other friends, and is really annoying

It's very difficult to know exactly what's happening without killcams, but the dual blades deflection rate is mad inconsistent. Sometimes I get a bounce, sometimes I don't (despite always getting the damage reduction and deflection animation). I don't know if that's because of lag/desync or because there's some behavioral variation each time it happens but I feel like I've had plenty of times where an enemy shooting me from quite close range, directly in front of me, has not recieved any bounce damage despite the fact I'm looking straight at them.

There are several new bugs with this new season I keep getting kicked from games and not able to reconnect to servers but I have an internet cable directly connected to my console and it still does this and second is that the button to play again on console is y and so is the report button and you can’t press the play again button until your in the scoreboard screen and every time you try to press play again it tries to report someone. And I think the sledge hammer has gotten way to powerful for our own good

Normally my gpu utilization is around 70-80%. However, I have a bug where in some matches I’m on 50% gpu utilization, which causes me to get low fps. Then the next match, it fixes all of a sudden and I’m back to 70-80% gpu utilization again. I have noticed that this only happens in world tour and S2 ranked cashout and it never occurs in casual matches. I haven’t played ranked TA yet, so idk if that bug happens in ranked TA. Does anyone know a fix for this?

First, you have to find a bug. Reading monitors for GPU utilization is not really troubleshooting a drop in FPS, it just shows you what the monitor has snap-shotted at that moment. If you utilization is suddenly pegged really high, it can be a variety of different actions that cause it to do so, none of which can be found by watching a monitor.

You have already proved it's not inherently the game: "only happens in world tour, and it never occurs in casual matches" -Where it's important to note the same maps are used in both examples, so unless it's the same result across all modes it's not a "crunching the graphics in this specific game mode" problem.

*Also good to note that even with a beefy top end GPU, this game leans heavily on CPU. If you drop a ton of framerate suddenly, check that nothing else is getting priority or running in the background.

The cooldown period is single player specific. Regardless of what your team is (or is not) doing, if you leave it will count against you and may trigger cooldown. Additionally, if you triggered a cooldown, that means you left more than once in a short period over several games.

the speed of that transfer is RAM dependant, since you are moving data from one physical drive to another. It will be a full write to RAM operation, then write to new drive, then delete from old drive (not necessarily in that order). As far as transfers go, this is about the slowest a system can do. Faster happens for example, if it's within the same drive but a different partition then it won't write out to RAM to transfer, it'll just change the table of where that data lives.

The speed of this transfer is not RAM-dependant, DDR4 RAM is in the range of tens of GB/s (about 26 for DDR4-3200), not even the fastest consumer-grade SSDs can do that (and PCIe 5.0 x4 caps out at about 16 GB/s).
(also it would still go to a RAM buffer for binary patching)

Anyway, it would be faster to just download the patch files to the drive the game is on (or download ONLY that to another drive) and not copy over the whole game, patch it, copy it back.

For anyone else suffering from this issue, I moved the SteamLibrary\downloading folder to an SSD, and linked it onto the HDD that is somehow always picked for updates via an NTFS Junction. Still way slower than it could be, but best we can do without Embark (maybe maybe Valve? unsure who controls what about update process) changes something

edit: Yes, RAM is still used, but that's not the issue during a file transfer/copy when even DDR3 RAM has a higher bandwidth than a NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, let alone SATA SDDs or even HDDs.
If I had several fast SSDs and concurrent file transfers, it could become the bottleneck.

I have another bug on top of the 15 elims with launcher/shotgun not working. When teamed with a friend, on occasion I will get stuck on the map load screen before you see you're team mates. i can hear the game start and go on while I'm still stuck. only solution is the close game and restart. So far hasn't happened while playing solo, only grouped. This bug has been constant since the beginning of Season 3 for me.

I had the craziest bug today in ranked TA. We found a game and it took a minute to load. So long in fact that we had to restart our games and rejoin. Once we did it seemed everyone had reverted to the basic loadout on both teams. It sucked but we pushed through, 4-2 on attack. We were then switching to defense and then THE GAME RESTARTS and makes us attack again, but this time we have our loadouts. We then again went 5-1 and destroyed them again, only for the game to never load on swap and close out. No rewards, no rank fluctuations, just a waste of 30 minutes.

i dont know if this is considered a bug but it 100% is in my opinion. the new anime face has very obvious eyes on it, i was waiting to get this skin and now that i have finally gotten it im a bit disappointed that only the "calm cool lenses" work as a change for the pair. this is a anime face and the "fiery photon lenses" would be a perfect fit as they look like a sharingan. i dont understand why its not in the game. i understand for faces such as "dashboard smirk", "multi-mood mask" and "ariad" for obvious reasons. but i feel as though if the "calm cool lenses" work on this face the others should as well. it feels like a bug and/or a easy add. its especially disappointing as i had high hopes and grinded for these lenses and skin and i cant use them how i want. i see no reason why this isnt available on this face.
