Well think about it, heal gun is faster and requires you to be dedicated to healing said teammate losing your ability to shoot, healing drones would automatically heal a teammate at a much slower rate to full health, without you needing to dedicate yourself to it

I'm going through the teaser frame by frame, and at about 10 seconds in (during the blue bridge clip with the mesh shield) I noticed something different about turrets.
(I would add a screenshot but no image perms :P )
The player places a turret and, instead of unequipping the turret gadget immediately, it instead gives the orange hologram/pre-placement thing that shows where a turret would be placed. I tested this in the current game, and it immediately stops showing the hologram once it is placed.
In the clip, the second hologram never goes blue (showing that the turret can be placed), but I think that is because it was still inside the first turret and would be invalid placement.
So either:
- Reworking the turret's charge / pickup system or allowing replacement
or... - Multiple turrets can be placed at the same time?!?! I presume that if they did this, it would also come with a nerf to their damage, health, or aim. Sounds fun!

I'm not gonna lie, it just kinda comes naturally to me. always use evasive dash with it. travel through buildings when you can. use invis bomb when you cant. remember how many and what kind of hits kill each class. keep in mind that one lunge/swing can hit multiple people, so use your dashes to take advantage of that when possible.
my main loadout is evasive dash, sword, invis bomb, flex slot(usually portal), and breach charge.
light takes a lunge and a quick melee (which can be done in quick succession to absolutely delete them)
medium takes a lunge, a swing, and a quick melee (or just 2 lunges if the situation allows)
I always either run from heavies or give em 3 lunges. depends on the weapon they are using.

I usually use my lunges in tandem with my dashes to either create distance or break line of sight when I'm fighting a heavy. I really try not to stay near them for too long
Especially sledge and spear heavy they just shred lights if you don't have timing down
yeah I just create distance with those guys. just dash lunge straight through them a few times
something like that. usually they are also trying to move around so as long as you just do straight lines, they usually take care of that for you

nothing special really lol. Just jumps and slides if they have a ranged weapon and the portal also works as a "get outta jail free card"
or just try to pop invis and break line of sight

portal is pretty good. I used to run either Pyro nade or goo nade in that slot to help me break line of sight but I found portal is better because it helps get height quick, and if someone follows you through it, they then have to reorient themselves to the area you brought them to.
Thats a good though I'm still running the season 1 classic of vanish stun and frag
part of why I run sword is my abysmal aim, so stun does almost nothing for me cause I can't hit it lol
I feel you my aim is ok but sword and dagger are just so fun
they are. they require a whole different playstyle. try adding breach charge to your loadout somewhere. it's really nice to be able to open up hiding spots/unexpectedly drop objective stuffs
that or thermal bore. they both work about the same

hot take i think once heavy isnt hard meta and isnt seen everywhere that sniper might actually be seen on a few maps as a viable choice

honestly someone who is good with it at cqb could probably be a menace in cashout defense
the sniper in finals is probably the only good implementation of a sniper ive seen in an fps game. rather than focusing on 1 tapping people its about creating damage and pressure for your team to capitalize on. which is really cool
just very hard to make work compared to other strategies
honestly i think sniper would do better if it had better close range damage but a projectile instead of hitscan so its not as effective at really long ranges
idk it always feels super cheesy to fight a sniper up close and have them hit a headshot
im fine with how it works now i just think the meta needs to shift and also it needs to get more gadgets that support the playstyle
i just want sniper to be more viable in close ranges and encourage the player to play closer to their team and not sit on a crane halfway across the map
but really open cashouts are so fun with sniper
idk i think the game is most healthy when weapons have clear strengths and weaknesses and you are encouraged to craft a team comp that plays with a specific strategy in mind and adapt that strategy to the different situations the game puts you in
which is also why every weapon that's been meta so far has been meta because it doesnt do that
only exception would maybe be the SA1216 which rn is meta because the other heavy weapon are either really bad or people just dont want to use them (lewis gun) and previously was meta just because even though it forced close range, your mediums would be using fcar which could beam across the map and the SA was so unbelievably stupid up close that anything else was throwing
the problem is that if team comp matters, soloq is fucked
in a perfect world this game would have enough players to not match solo q against full stacks but yeah
this also kind of fixes itself with a proper ranked mode. team comp doesn't really matter at lower ranks because bad players dont know how to execute strategies properly or play to the strengths of their team. but at higher ranks when it does matter, you'll be paired with other high rank players when you queue. which means more communication and team coordination
overwatch has the same thing and it works really well

You can't say for sure that mediums melee are bad or not while M doesn't have specialization for melee gameplay
From what i felt dual blades are pretty good in terms of dealing damage and Riot Shield should have melee damage reduction (30%) when raised just like DB do
I don't consider suggested changes a nerf — it's a rework which wouldn't affect the overall gameplay but will make this gun more skill dependant and rewarding at the same time
This rework will also force to play with SR84 from closer distances at which it can be countered with ARs
At least imo this is more healthy that a weapon that can hitscan through the whole map
- devs have to give other classes more mid/long range weapons too
There's already enough slow paced high damage weapons: Sledge, Bow, MGL32, SR-84 — do you want them all to be removed?
I believe good balancing will be enough and there's no need to remove guns
increase time between shots and increase reload time and add ballistics are all nerfs, the only buff is 10 more damage which doesnt actually matter since the ttks are all the same and sr usually dont deal with large chip damages

A really skilled sniper is already a nightmare, the problem is that this weapon isn't that easy to use at close range but that's the way a sniper rifle should be balanced

A sniper is good at one thing. Range. Snipers should pretty much be dead if you catch them up close because that is the risk vs reward of the weapon.
Light is the most annoying class to possibly have a sniper. Imagine if sniper from tf2 had the speed of a scout and spy cloak. It’s insufferable.
It’s not even about wether it’s op or not. Simply just that it completely sucks the fun out of every match by forcing you to stay behind cover or go deal with the sniper.
If im on one side of the map fighting someone I should absolutely not have to worry about a hitscan weapon that can kill me in 2 hits from the actual opposite side of the map.

Not enough people compare this game to tf2. There is basically a formula to follow and while deviations from it are mostly good and make this game unique, essentially combining scout and spy was not the play.

Medium. Magnet 2 charges. Throwable. Throw a little tower that attracts all projectiles (grenades, arrows throwing knifes. Not bullets) into that area. Can be attached to enemy players. The tower lasts indefinitely on the ground and 10 seconds on a player.
Heavy. Already has four so none needed

I definitely think the new weapons will drop powerful this season at first. I think it's better to introduce OP new weapons.
Since it's hard to perfectly balance new weapons Id prefer them to lean towards OP and not underpowered. Then they take time listening to the community and make proper adjustments to the new weapons. EZ.

i think cl-40 should deal slightly less direct-hit damage than current model 1887 (so it just about doesn't 2 shot mediums with directs)
(something like 110, so it takes 2 directs and a splash for medium and 3 directs + splash for a heavy)
and model 1887 should deal current cl-40 damage with less fall off (so more range)
maybe make cl-40 reload slower (and maybe increase self damage again) and model reload slightly faster if needed

Recoil nerfs are absolutely never necessary in this game. They make the gun feel worse to use while also keeping the weapon OP. The xp-54 needs a small fire rate nerf and then a very small fall off percentage buff
It should be the lower dps / longer range version of the m11. Right now it’s just the m11 with much better range and nearly identical DPS
