I find a map good if it works well with the game's mechanics, feels fun to play in, and has an interesting gimick that separates it from other maps. Looks are important too, but a good looking map is easily hated if it is not fun.

Syshorizon is a map that does not achive anything, as Arena destruction, movement, and firefights all feel bad, as there is not much meaningful things to break, obstacles to dash through, and Little to no cover for firefights in majority of the map.

Kyoto is a great map(not mentioning performance), but I belive suffers from too many gimmicks, which makes the map feel alien to many players. The water pit traps, the semi-cover bamboo gives, the very fragile buildings, and tall hills make for a map where every point feels completely different to fight over. But with so much gimmicks in one map mixed with the poor performance it is clear why much of the community hates this map, and on the other side of the coin, why this is many people's favorite map, for the same reason.

Fortune Suffers from the blandness of Sys, but makes up for one of the best maps to destroy, the destruction is VERY meaningful in this map, and that makes zooming around in the rubble great. But this is dependent on people picking heavy and breaking shit, if this is one of those game with no heavies(happens too often) will make the statium feel very bland.

No, it's random. So there's different game servers your client will connect you to once a match is found and then the server randomly chooses a map for each game. So if a game ends it'll switch to the next map, but will disconnect your client to show the score board, earned fans etc.

i just finished a game on the new mexico map, and there was a glitch where around the cashout on top of the church in the "dome" the walls were like glitching i guess? i was sitting next to the cashout and a heave with the spear went through the wall and hit me multiple times, and more people just glitched through the wall idk if they knew (honestly they might now that im thinking about how confidently he was just spamming through the wall) but i think it should get fixed :))

Europe is what makes sense to me, I've seen a lot of people requesting medieval map so that could be Scotland, maybe Wales or Norway, Rome or Venice could be pretty cool too.

That being said, we haven't been to Australia or Africa, just Europe once, Asia and NA twice.

Also, while I'm aware it's not really TDM, I've had games in power shift where people ignore the platform for the first 90% of the time and just play TDM, its where I go test weapons and loadouts as well, so for me it fills the TDM slot pretty well.

Yes but the jousting area is more like a festival? You know? But also the inn/villages circle needs to overlap the other circles around it partially. And let's add a wall that separates the castle from the other three circles (one gate per circle separates it from the others)

please change "new maps" to "all the maps in the game". there is no need to expect less. this is needlessly over-problematised: the maps need not fit the mode perfectly, but they need to be implemented. should this however still seem to be the issue, I suggest the devs either build maps which fit their game modes, that is, all their game modes, or build game modes which fit their maps.
