and it's first talking about homo sapiens and homo nianderthalis or however its spelled, the neanderthals...we were slowly becoming impossible to have offspring together, as far as science can tell, before they went extinct, but the whole co-exsistance thing made me think of something..

yknow the uncanney valley? likely some genetic thing that makes us feel uncomfortable with things that look like us but not quite right?

maybe it was to discern from other homo species besides our own?

true, true...one staple of the uncanney valley is too wide smiles or too many teeth...that could relate to faces rotting off or seeing more teeth than usual due to that

we co-exsisted at the time, so one thing i thought of was that maybe the whole 'uncanney valley' thing, though to possibly be via genetics, this thing that makes us uncomfortable with things that look close to human, but not quite right...

maybe that's partially due to living with other species that arent like us, they're similar but looked different, esp in the face, so this might be due to that...since we couldnt often have viable offspring with them, there werent many 'hybrids' that were produced...so the homo sapiens that were averse to neanderthals had more offspring than ones that tried with neanderthals

religion is on the decline, at least in the US, afaik...not the main point but due to this i wonder...

burials are usually based on religious practices and superstitions...if humans became fully atheistic, would burials stop? and if so...how would that affect future archeology? lots of studies about he past are from archeology, for example finding an early case of a dog buried with 2 humans. so except in cases where people die from floods or similar, leaving fossils...how might that lack of burials affect far future archeology? assuming we dont go extinct...
