outside of gaming, in general using a melee weapon is literally a disadvantage compared to a gun, the finals isn't built around close range encounters so that's why melee feels so bad. if we're gonna even the playing field by buffing melee to the point where they can consistently go toe to toe with guns it's just gonna feel really frustrating and unrealistically hard to play with for even more people, i dont think that's how they should go about it

Its best to watch a video explaining it, but there's some sound queues that tell when it will attack, either with fire or electrical damage that breaks shields.
