What happened in this kill cam?

Sus sniper got me, you can see the bullet hit my body, not my head, yet my head explodes before the bullet hits my body, and 246 damage even though I only have 150 health. Confused, its in super slow-mo. You can see he was aiming at the middle of my body AND the bullet hitting it.

Embark im here to suggest some improvement for us controller players, and no, i'm not asking for some sort of aim assist buff, what i'm really asking for, practically begging is an improvement for the joysticks and how they feel in game, a true 0 Deadzone would be so nice to have, micro adjustments would feel mutch more natural. I think a good fix for quick cash could be. Keeping it but making it a more on the side game mode that lets you level up faster, get more cash, get more fans, stuff like that. Then of course make head to head the main stay, or make quick cash 4 teams like cash out.

Nerf the range, damage, and reload time of double barrel. Please. It's way too oppressive. Also nerf evasive dash and buff cloak. Cloak is too easy to notice, making it useles.. Evasive dash has been so strong and meta for a while now. Reduce the amount of charges and/or nerf cooldown time

It's a minor thing, but there are too many buttons to get back to the main menu and queue for another game. I know there is a "queue again" button. Sometimes you want to go back to the main menu and adjust your reserves loadout.

As a current light main who used to main flamethrower, I have a couple of perspectives on this. First, flamethrower (my fallback no skill weapon for when I'm outclassed) does not by any means need a buff. I've often went 1 and 8 as a light, swapped over to flamethrower because I'm tired of dying, and ended 13-10. The only reason I don't main flamethrower anymore (I used to) is because the playstyle is incredibly repetitive and the skill ceiling is so low. It's already such an easy weapon to play with that it's no longer very fun.

Second, the effectiveness of spear (my first ever main) varies wildly by gamemode. For example, I stopped maining spear originally because it sucked in cashout on most maps, but running spear on power shift is decently strong if you use it right. Buffing spear would be tricky to do because it's already strong in some gamemodes but incredibly weak in others. (Not to say I'm against buffing spear, it would just be a tad bit hard to balance.)

Third (and probably finally), from my experience (not a fact, just what I've observed), light weapons take a decent bit more skill at the moment than heavy weapons. When I first started playing The Finals (which was my first ever fps game), I ran exclusively heavy because I was trash at light and medium but since most heavy loadouts don't require much skill, I did pretty decent running heavy. As I've gotten better, I've started being able to perform somewhat well with light and medium contestants, but I still do better with heavy, not because I'm good at heavy, but because there's such a low skill requirement for most heavy loadouts.

I do agree that Riot Shield is a bit underwhelming at the moment, though. I've seen a couple of really skilled players be able to dominate lobbies using riot shield, but other than those couple of players, I've yet to find anyone who can perform well with riot shield (at least, nobody who does better with riot shield than other weapons).

Suggestion: And option for a calmer, more to the point versions of scotty and june.
Currently, after a certain point, if you turn off the announcer voices, you suddenly start to feel like you turned off a noise/music that is playing for hours, and your head suddenly feels less tired. I get it we already have the option to turn them off but it's a trade off.
Plus, can we get a more realistic scotty and june? Like live reactions and actual excitements when cool things happen.

  • Add projectile behavior and bullet drop near max range for all guns, just like KS23 and SR84. This will make it easier for teams to fight campers guarding cashout stations in open areas

  • Add 40 damage to direct hits with MGL32, letting it break arena props and shields while also rewarding accurate body hits

  • Add a midair detonation trigger for MGL32 and CL40 with aim button, allowing for early detonation of the shots at 50% damage so that they can still be useful when out of position

  • Buff the damage of Pike back to 50, but also nerf the firerate by 20-25% so the overall dps remains unchanged.

  • Make all Pike .556 scopes available for the SR84, and vice versa

Skin idea for KS-23, BFR, and R.357:

The Handcannon: your character holds a toy-sized artillery gun in the palm of their hand, and it's operated by miniature Finals characters who fire and load the artillery.

ie. The Revolver could have a Bofors 40 mm cannon skin, and the KS-23 could have an 8.8 cm Flak skin (I get that it might not be appropriate to use the WW2 variants, but you could probably use the 8.8 cm Flak 16 variant from WW1).

Would also be neat if the artillery crew cheers whenever you get a kill, or shouts "hurry up!" and curses if you try to fire while you're still reloading (would only really work with the R.357 since you can reload-cancel with the BFR and KS-23).

I don't know the e-sports drama all I know is that as a long term player it feels like wasted effort when the game could've leaned into casual play. Point Break has been the single best addition to the game imo because it's mostly a casual mode that leans into chaos and (occasionally) team work. Stalemates when teams lock-in are especially great.

Not everything needs an e-sport scene, especially when it's forced rather than organic.

Add more maps to Point Break please. Continue to give the mode attention, it seems like a good learning space for noobs.

Why isn't the Head2Head monster game event in Cashout?! A bombastic game event and it's not even in the rotation.

The community is real hit or miss. There's a lot of good people to play with in the disc, but also a lot of toxic whiners. More just an observation. Git gud slur slinging cry babies

is there a way to add queue preferences when queueing for ranked? i can wait a little longer than having to queue against rubies or another Kyoto map or the absolute best teammates that totally had game sense last game. also please fix your servers. even after a reconnect sometimes there's lag (300+ ms for no reason - pinging other game servers is ~50-80ms for me during your laggy servers)

All Dagger really needs:

Backstab angle 150° -> 180° (nerf from 5.9.0)
Backstab attack windup 800 ms -> 500 ms (nerf from 4.0.0)
Remove the movement speed penalty during windup (nerf from 4.0.0)
Bring back tap-to-stab during windup, like throwing knives, instead of only hold and release (nerf from 4.0.0)
Re-enable backstabbing inanimate objects (nerf from 7.0.0)

All of the above are just reverts to previous mechanics. These are not buffs. They are simply undoing past nerfs that made the weapon worse.

Also, when is this game finally getting proper match data?

Things like detailed match history, profile statistics, and an API for player data. Riot games titles like Valorant and League have extremely detailed statistics available for every player: kills, win rate, match history, performance tracking, etc. That kind of data is incredibly useful for players who actually want to analyze their gameplay.

Even something as simple as a replay system would already help a lot so players can review their matches, understand mistakes, and improve.

How has this still not been added?

3 simple Ranked Mode ideas:

  • 4 team tournaments with 1 cashout round and then a final 3v3 round between top 2 teams and a final 3v3 round between bottom 2 teams
  • Cashout round only ends when the first team hits $50k
  • RS changes after each round so feedback is immediate and feels fair
    Whatever you do, though, at least make some change to Ranked for Season 10, if only to bring something novel to the game.

I have to agree at the very least with the smurfing thing in this. In every PvP game I've ever played one of the most frustrating things are smurfs. Whether you're actively trying to figure out to to improve your own gameplay so that you can go up in rank/skill or just trying to have some fun balanced games- Smurfs ruin that so frequently. You can achieve niether of those goals if there is an uber sweat smurf in your lobby keeping you on the respawn screen the entire match just so they can have better "content" of stomping lobbies below their skill level for their audience. Any live service FTP game where you can easily make new accounts suffers from this too much.

I think yall should just scrap the whole easy, intermediate, and challenging rs decider all together. Putting rubys against teams of golds plats and diamonds just gives them easy matches, even if theres another team of rubys in that lobby its just a battle of greifing at that point, that goes the same for putting diamonds and plats in gold and silver lobbies, same issue. rubys shouldnt be able to go from 40k to 60k by triple stacking and going against lower ranks of solo players.

everyone in the entire tournament should be an 1000-4000 rs between each other. If there are longer q times, I say so be it. if you dont want to wait a long to time in q then dont play ranked

FUNDAMENTAL RIGGING IN TOP 500 LOBBIES... Once you get up to having top 500 lobbies, a lot of people will recognize their friends and actively help each other. This is a glaringly exploitable problem that needs to be addressed. To be clear, it is perfectly acceptable to grief a dedicated team out/ third party when it's the last box and you are in first place, trying to get the worst team or team that you counter to qualify.

What is not okay, is having a 3v3v6 for the entire duration of the match, actively cultivating and working together to make sure themselves and their top 500 enemy's on the other team both qualify by both actively coordinating from the very first second the match starts. I called it within the first 2 min of the match by the way they were refusing to shoot each other and defending their enemies box.

The match starts off by both teams coordinating a double cash, then the enemies actively go out of their way to help, and NOT try to steal the cashout for their own. Then next go, same thing, double box to help the other team. And so forth.

Again... working together with another team on last box, big whoop. Part of the game. However, this colluding for the entirety of the match is egotistical and exploitable.

This happens frequent enough, it's starting to become a bigger problem. Rank is miserable once this vacuum occurs. I wish i was recording so you could see the entire match and realize how cowardly it is.

Id love a stim gadget for the medium class- something that shortens regen timer so its not oppresive during combat but still allows medium to sustain during longer fights. heavy has shields+big health bar, light has regen and movement. This would give medium self sustain like the other classes without changing the base class balance and doesnt effect direct combat

After 30 Minutes, a Countdown starts running and everyone gets kicked. That way, you don't get any XP or Progress in WT or BP ( or account XP)

This is probably the best MP/pvp out there, by far my most favorite. But the cheating problem needs to be dealt with at the highest levels. Almost every single day I play, there are some extremely suspicious, low level players, all less than level 30, who are better than everyone who was in the grand majors and anyone else that I've played against since open beta. The game is flooded with cheaters on low accounts and people with alt accounts exploiting the game. Every cheater needs to be permanently banned before they can get to level 2. Alt account exploiters need to be permanently banned on all accounts they have active. This game will never grow if you continue to let people cheat and exploit at these levels. The anticheat isn't catching people fast enough, and there are too many people exploiting on low level/new accounts.

i disagree. i find it egotistical and exploitable to grief by doing it anyway whatsoever, even if its the last box. The reason being, is that ranked is place you test your skill against other players. If rubys or any first place team can grief out the 2nd place team or what they think is the strongest team....where is the skill? Because then, at that point, its just first place team exploiting how the rank system works and making it easy for them by literally making it a 3v6, so no matter how much that 2nd strongest team is, no matter how much skill they have, they fundamentally cant win. Then when you throw in rubys recognizing each other (which that part I agree with btw), and the fact they go against plats and diamonds rather than other rubys, its becomes a mess. Theres no skill in that, just, like you said exploitation, and manipulation.

Plz embark just stop with the massive rs gap in lobbies, even if its longer q times. If you cant fix the griefing and rs gain/loss ratio, and the smurfs. Then at the very least just make it so people fight against their own rank in some way shape or form. Put ruby's against ruby's, diamonds against diamonds etc. Shouldnt be seeing a plat and a silver on my team when im in diamond. Ill play the game out, but its still doesnt make annnny sense

Imagine water physics in the finals. I'd love for deep waters and swimming to be added into maps and have cashouts in those pools of water. I'd love to have firefights with all those different teams and classes in an arena full of seaweed, sunken objects used for cover, some floating wooden boxes chained to the ground that float up when the chain is broken, barrels that float around in the water waiting to be picked up or shot, seaweed and other foliage to hide in, maybe some maps can have hazards like fans, mines, or deadly fish (either big or small, i'd prefer big and scary!) and maybe also have the pool covered by a grate or something solid that contestants can smash through, that way the pool isnt just super open unless contestants want it to be, i'd love for there to be water in this game so long as it's the kind of water you can actually swim and float around in, and not the kind of water that is basically just low gravity or whatever.

Also bring back bank it. why did you guys remove it in the first place? Literally so many people were begging for its return and you removed it anyway

I always find it odd to see so many calls to have light nerfed here. Been playing support medium for four or so seasons now (which stacks up to a few hundred hours) so I keep pretty close eye on how the team is moving. Lights (being played the way most of them are played) are so deeply unimportant to most comps, to the point if I join say a power shift lobby and most of my team are lights I just leave because I know they’re going to immediately scatter and get killed leaving my dork ass alone with a heal beam to go up against the encampment at the objective.

So what do we do? They’re already easy to kill, if your brain is mostly functioning (I mean hey I can’t talk they get me too sometimes.) In my opinion sweeping buffs to their specs and gadgets and weapon range changes to encourage them to stay closer to the team is the way to go. The idea with the weapons is to reign in the ranges of basically everything that isn’t like, a rifle lol. That means the ARN should stand out as the mid range option and lh1 and sr-84 should be the only viable options way out at long (SR-84 also probably needs worse hipfire but that’s another story.) AND THEN, beef up almost everything else. Dash, nullifier, and sonar are basically the only things I’d leave alone. It is imperative in my opinion that this class is made more useful to the team while lightly nudging it away from being a dedicated killer. For the medium and heavy mains here Imagine how great it would be to have gateways up to cashouts or darted snipers more often, lights just need to be encouraged to stay closer to the team and these benifits and more can be yours hug_friend

I mean really when is the last time you saw a light with the tracking dart. Or a light using anything other than the sr-84 using grapple. Ever? Neon doesn’t count.

Perhaps Point Break needs some kind of idiot-proofing, for lack of a better term?

Some games are great, absolute peak, exciting chaos, the best of the game, but a lot of rounds I get matched into simply end because the attackers hit respawn, every single time, as soon as their timer runs out.

You cannot make F2P gamers, especially younger console players, understand a shared ticket resource. If you get unlucky even a single selfish/ignorant player can choose to spend every single ticket long before a hard-defended set of objectives could be effectively contested.

Making the experience of the entire team (which does matter in terms of wasting player time, as people are often playing for dailies during a short period of free time) hinge upon each individual not being an asshole is... Flawed.

And this isn't within player-control as you can't party a full team of Point Break players - there is absolutely no way to escape this problem. Too much power to waste others' time and spoil their fun is being placed into the hands of each individual.

Embark im here to suggest some improvement for us controller players, and no, i'm not asking for some sort of aim assist buff, what i'm really asking for, practically begging is an improvement for the joysticks and how they feel in game, a true 0 Deadzone would be so nice to have, micro adjustments would feel mutch more natural. Other nice improvemet would be a higher x/y sensitivity already is 750 why not go higher like 1000? let us roller player turn even faster plz. Thank you. Also fix gyro plz

Fans should still be awarded in the post game screen visually after completing the sponsor track ESPECIALLY since there is an event for the sponsor showdown. When attempting to track total fans for a sponsor after completing the track via leaders there is no visual difference either.

Don't know if this was said before, but I really, REALLY want there to be music during the match. I do understand however, that it would be obstructive to the gameplay and most people would probably disable it to hear the enemy footsteps and sounds. Plus, most matches are more than 10 minutes long, so multiple songs would have to start and end, and the transitions would be awkward.

But the music is SO good, I think a certain way could work. Inspired by what Splatoon did, what if the music came up during the last minute of the match? If a match goes down to the last minute that means the battle is heated and more or less even, as most end before the one minute mark. We could have "Final Minute" mixes of our favourite tracks (I would do anything to hear You Wouldn't be Here Without Us during the last minute), and it would really drive up the drama and adrenaline. Make use of that wonderful soundtrack, its a crime it only plays in the menu and not in the actual game.

Besides unobtainable Twitch Drops, Circuit rewards, and event skins, seeing unavailable Ultimate Battle Pass skins in legacy battlepasses now added to the list of permanently unobtainable items is such a huge bummer. I know this might sound a bit dramatic, but it honestly makes me really sad.

I’m a relatively new player. I originally came because of the ARC Raiders event, but since then The Finals has actually become my main game. I’ve already put in 200+ hours and even convinced my friends to play the game with me. We play together regularly and have a great time in matches, the finals became such an awesome game.
But recently I found out about all the skins that are completely unobtainable now, like the CNS AKM circuit skin or the bunny ears event skin. I love collecting things in games, and knowing that there are items I would instantly grind/buy - but can never get - really kills a lot of my motivation.
It’s a strange feeling and a bit hard to describe. It’s not that I suddenly dislike the game, but logging in and grind matches the whole night for some currency/cosmetics somehow doesn’t feel as “worth it” anymore. As a newer player, I’m already far behind more experienced players. Seeing cosmetics I really want but will never have just makes me feel like I missed my chance completely. Instead of feeling excited about collecting things over time, it feels like I’m locked out of a big part of the game forever.
I really love the game and want to keep playing it with my friends. I just wish there was some way for newer players to obtain older cosmetics - even if it required a lot of effort, grinding, or special challenges.

Right now it just feels discouraging.

Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole but of course that increases the frustration for alot of people. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 138 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

legacy battle pass? - the whole point of the game is that cosmetics are limited - if you could just get all the circuit rewards and event skins, whats the point of even playing? The game is centered around exclusive skins, and if you take that away the player count will be even worse than it already is. As a relatively new player myself (joiend in season 7), I do wish that I had access to previous season cosmetics, but that would ruin the whole point, and make people who stuck around since season 1 or beta have nothing to differentiate theselves with. Furthermore, I've investing over 700 hours already and its completely worth it, not because of the skins, but because of the game. So yeah, I do wish that we had older cosmetics, but its a video game - play it to have fun, not to be jealous of veteran cosmetics. Personally, I bought some of the legacy battle passes to get older cosmetics, but the even and ultimate battle pass cosmetics are for the people who played the seasons. If we added this, people wouldnt even play the game anymore because they know they can get any cosmetic they want later.

Showing queue player count would help low-player regions coordinate Cashout/Ranked.

  • Sound slider for footsteps or fix it

Footsteps are barely audible in some cases.

  • Big On-Screen Alert When a Cashout Is Being Stolen

During fights the audio cue is easy to miss.

  • Show Region while Queuing & Fix Estimates Update

The visual upgrade to the Riot Shield honestly just made things more confusing. As a die hard Riot Shield player since season 1 its made me think that my shield is at a 45° angle instead of a 90° and it obscures the left of my screen entirely unnecessarily.

It was mentioned in the dev notes that this was to provide visual clarity but I can attest it has done the opposite.

Also, day 89 of Fix protanopia settings, the purple is too easily mistaken for allied blue, please and thank you. I suggest pastels or Bright Yellow, Orange, and Dark Red.

Seconding the above, please revert the riot shield visual change so that I can see more than 60% of my screen.

Also please look into desync, there are instances where the riot shield fails to block any bullets whatsoever from an enemy directly in front of you (while properly angled to block their shots).

If it’s not actually desync, just make the shield itself a bit larger so the blocking is the least bit consistent

stop pretending cashout nonranked is a competitive mode and remove penalties for leaving, OR introduce some kind of sbmm in there too. why should I be punished for leaving when I notice my team is a bunch of clowns typing slurs or just new players not having idea what they do? do you only care about new players? if you want experienced ppl to play ranked reduce it by 1 round because there's not enough players to keep matchmaking fair in this mode

Queue times might go up but i think we'd all rather wait 10 mins for a good game then 3 for a shit one.

And make ranked PURELY RANKED BASED MATCHMAKING. NOT SBMM. THE WHOLE POINT OF A RANK IS TO DETERMINE WHO YOU GO AGAINST.....DUH.

i really wish the game had color coded captions. People playing don't really use the normal team names the game assigns because it's simply easier to call them by color. I think that could help a lot with giving information to players during a match.

Not to mention the captions right now are really buggy, which is quite annoying since I rely on them a lot and I don't imagine i'm the only one.

LOL, a lifetime ban for toxicity is something out of the ordinary, you can block a chat or other things, but giving a lifetime ban for toxicity is nonsense. And lately I've rarely played, I've never spoken out on the subject of religions, nations, and other topics, touching only on the underdeveloped intelligence of my teammates, and even then not always. As much as I wish The FInals project success, time has put everything in its place and the game inevitably slides to the bottom. A vivid example of this is online players and ridiculous attempts to keep him. By doing everything possible to balance the game towards weak players, allowing weak players to make easy frags, a huge imbalance in weapons, gadgets, perks and more. The presence of Aim Assists for both melee weapons and firearms.

For me, it was an interesting journey with a length of 3532 hours of playing time, I watched as the game from a promising breakthrough project with great promise and ambition slipped into the trash, losing the trust of the players. It was my turn to finally leave the project, with the decision of the Administration to ban me for life for the so-called "TOXICITY". In general, it is incredibly strange to see how they focus on the comfort of players with low intelligence, while ignoring the comfort of players with high intelligence, that is, you owe a stupid player and have to put up with him because you are smart and he is stupid.

Other nice improvemet would be a higher x/y sensitivity already is 750 why not go higher like 1000? let us roller player turn even faster plz. Thank you. Also fix gyro plz

even if it did you would still auto mantle everything because the game has such a huge input delay that it holds inputs for extra long to ensure that you do the thing you meant to do before it's to late which is often detrimental to what you actually want to do. AKA the reason why you can't hold a second grenade immediately after throwing the first grenade and it will just throw it as soon as you push the button.

I've come to the realization that this is simply not the game that I fell in love with years ago. I don't know what is going on at Embark but they have successfully sucked the magic out of this game entirely. Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole but of course that increases the frustration for alot of people. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 138 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Bro you need to do some serious self reflection. If every time you “ask for help” by weak players you are getting snapped at, it has to do with how you are acting. No “altercation” has to ensue if you are friendly about it.

I exclusively solo queue ranked (supposedly the most toxic environment) and have 95% positive interactions with the randoms I play with. Bring good energy to your matches and people will reflect that back to you.

Ranked and World Tour are the least fun game modes in the game.

World tour is supposed to be casual equivalent to ranked however as someone who has a job and doesn't spend their life on the computer it really doesn't motivate me to keep playing and grinding towards emerald when I haven't won a single game of these game modes in Season 9.
I have also hardly seen anyone with less than 70k kills. I've been playing since launch and I have only 22k kills to my name.

How should I find the motivation and desire to play this gamemode when a loss is guaranteed 99% of the time. Is there not a bit of matchmaking in at least the casual modes so we don't just keep dying and not having fun 15 minutes at a time?

i’d love to see sapphire skins implemented somehow, like if you max your weapon level you could do a very long list of contracts for that weapon to eventually unlock the sapphire skin. like 100 contracts of various different bullshit like kill 50 lights or use the weapon to destroy 10 chairs in a match, 10 times. when a new season starts, you gotta max the weapon’s level again before you can start grinding the contracts. not a perfect system, but general idea is that sapphire skins would look dope, so attaining them should be on a similar difficulty level to ruby in terms of the grind

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole but of course that increases the frustration for alot of people. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 138 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Some highly conditional and speculative feedback:

Is it the case that casual matchmaking is K/D based in some respect? I've just hypothesised that it might be based on experiences from several roughly top 20% players who solo queue in that mode. There's a trend of these 'decent' players reporting eventually ending up in the matchmaking such that they consistently dominating on their team, but not in a good position to win due to their teammates being worse to a huge degree while the enemy team are, not necessarily great, but better than those teammates by a notable margin, with limited evidence to demonstrate this. If this is truly a state that the matchmaking may trap players in, then it might be problematic to their experience.

Please make riot shield just a tad bigger so that the blocking feels consistent, or make it so that the ADS stance covers your feet and you are in a truly defensinve position that, while you can barely move, you can at least be fully protected from an enemy that you are looking directly towards. Currently, the riot shield ADS serves no real function outside of using it to block shots coming from above you.

Also, please buff some of the Medium gadgets that are not defib, jump/zip, or goo - those 3 feel absolutely mandatory to bring in ranked and it's not good for variety. Breach Drill could be useful if it detonated quickly, data reshaper needs variable charge consumption based on action (ie turret reshape is 1-2 charges, barrel reshape is half a charge, etc.), explosive and gas mines could use shorter cooldowns, pyro and gas nades still sort of suck compared to goo/movement/defib.

Lastly, CL40 feels really weak in combat right now (which is fine because it's annoying af to play against, which I think is actually mostly due to the audio and visual clutter it causes, rather than the actual damage it deals), so it would be worthwhile to buff its arena damage to give it some utility, or just buff the reload speed a bit.

More dual-wield weapons / Dual SMGs (like Dual MP5s) would make the game super fun and exciting, especially for Light builds and the Cashout mode.
It would also make the meta more dynamic and reward aggressive playstyles.

Ranked Solo Queue literally does not let you climb as is because you get two instalock lights that then go 2-3-12 every other game.

My proposed way of fixing this is simple: Just increase rank gains for solo players but keep losses the same– they'll always be worse than two-/threestacks, so they'll lose more and it'll balance out, bringing those players to a rank that actually reflects their skill level.

Melee Heavy needs some sort of gadget that can help them in open areas of the map. Most of the gadgets and specializations have been balanced around ranged weapons in mind and there hasn't been a gadget that felt like it belongs with melee. Most gadgets and specializations work with melee Heavy, but are not necessarily meant for melee compared to something like the shak50 or sa1216. A ranged weapon in gadgets like a derringer or a pistol would be cool weapon as that can be balanced around multiple things, specifically around swap speed when using longer ranged weapons or gadgets.

  • Add 40 damage to direct hits with MGL32, letting it break arena props and shields while also rewarding accurate body hits

  • Add a midair detonation trigger for MGL32 and CL40 with aim button, allowing for early detonation of the shots at 50% damage so that they can still be useful when out of position

  • Buff the damage of Pike back to 50, but also nerf the firerate by 20-25% so the overall dps remains unchanged.

  • Make all Pike .556 scopes available for the SR84, and vice versa

  • Make KS23's hipfire accurate like all other shotguns, lack of headshot and hitscan already makes it too weak and unreliable compared to Akimbo and BFR

  • Rework Guardian Turret to instead deploy 2 smaller turrets with less health, damage and cooldown

  • Let burn damage from Cerberus and Flamethrower light the ground and walls on fire for a few seconds, giving them some area denial

  • Add a 20 damage explosion to gas burns, making gas+fire loadouts actually useful for offense

  • Let explosions and destructions create craters on the ground as makeshift covers in open areas, allowing for trench warfare similar to BF6

  • Add knockback to explosive self-damage, allowing for tricks like Rocket Jumping and Nade Boosting from TF2

  • Add double jumps, wall running and wall kicks for all classes, like Titanfall

  • Remove ADS slow for shotguns, since they don't gain accuracy on aim anyways

@dark niche it’s not that new players are irrelevant, they typically just don’t have the experience to know what good balance looks like. reactions aren’t a good idea either, too many people would just thumbs up what they agree with instead of what’s actually best for the game.

for example, many new players want dash to be nerfed and think light is OP because they haven’t built the skills to deal with it yet. such a nerf would be horrible to the game, but it would receive many thumbs ups except for the people that have played the game for a while and understand that dash is balanced.

I agree with your opinion about online play. If it were larger, then ranked would be more balanced, but there are also times when you're intentionally griefed. And after reviewing this system, I believe I've come to a more appropriate solution: the top 3 team from the winner's bracket will be in the final against the top 1 team from the losers' bracket. This means the team that wins the first round has a better chance of making it to the finals (three out of four teams will play in the finals), which more accurately reflects a team's skill and rewards them appropriately.

I want to highlight how frustrating the “Easy” matchmaking currently feels.

You can spend nearly 20 minutes in a match, fight through multiple rounds, and still end up losing rank points (for example, -9) even if you made progress.

On top of that, the opposing team can include Ruby-ranked players. When matches like that happen, it’s hard to understand what is supposed to be “Easy” about this mode.

The ranking system also feels unnecessarily complicated. Instead of a confusing system where players can invest a lot of time and still lose points, it would be much clearer and fairer to use a simple system that everyone understands:
win → gain points, lose → lose points.

Right now, the current system makes the time investment feel unrewarding and discouraging.

Please consider simplifying the ranking system and improving the matchmaking so that ranks actually reflect the difficulty players are facing.

Hi, I need help with an ongoing TFGE0001 issue in THE FINALS. Support keeps sending me the same generic network troubleshooting reply, but the problem does not seem to be my connection.

I tested this on the same PC and network with a different account, and that other account works fine. But my account still gets TFGE0001, even on a different PC and different network. So it looks like an account-specific issue, not an internet problem.

My ticket number is 699152. Does anyone know what I should do in this situation or how I can get this properly reviewed by Embark support? Support has already sent me the same automatic response 3 or 4 times about checking the router, DNS firewall, etc.... I haven't been able to play my favorite game for 6 months now, and even after figuring out the problem on my own, support doesn't really want to help me.

The same VoiP issue that's been giving people trouble in ARC raiders since it launched back in October is also affecting players in the finals. I have not been able to use Voice chat in either game for over 6 months now. Is there a planned fix for this?

It has made me want to play less and less. Works perfectly fine in literally every other game and service

im not sure if this is the right channel for here, and this is a very out there suggestion, but in my opinion the developers should add challenges to earn skins, similar to the old call of dutys, something like 'get 200 headshots from over 20 meters', '50 cashout steal interruptions' or 'heal x amount of health' etc. in addition to this if we get a specific number of skins using this system for a class, we unlock a special skin for those guns.
this is because weapon levelling is currently slow, and a way to earn skins that isnt tied to playtime or with Multibucks, rather tied to challenges, would be nice, as sometimes there is not enough of a grind to chase in the finals that doesnt involve playing games on games in a row.

Low level / invalid opinion - all of those weapons are C tier at best except for maybe sword in the hands of someone who has put 500 hours into mastering sword.

All of them are hard countered by decent movement skills and spacing due to their limited range (and CL40 can’t deal damage to opponents who have the high ground on the CL40 user)

Embark im here to suggest some improvement for us controller players, and no, i'm not asking for some sort of aim assist buff, what i'm really asking for, practically begging is an improvement for the joysticks and how they feel in game, a true 0 Deadzone would be so nice to have, micro adjustments would feel mutch more natural. Other nice improvemet would be a higher x/y sensitivity already is 750 why not go higher like 1000? let us roller player turn even faster plz. Thank you. Also fix gyro plz

Heres a change for daul blades i think would help a lot: when in deflect stance, apply the muse zoom sensitivity like how you would when aiming with a gun. Dual blades is already hard to aim enough with with the server issues, so i think this would help a bit. Theres also no excuse not to do this because the change i want is already on the riot shield.

@quick stag actually, no not at all. bot technology has advanced extremely far ever since the big ai boom of like 2023. bots are not like tf2 anymore where they spin around and control in very obviously botty fashions. ai, which embark are huge proponents of, ARE able to MIMIC player interactions and play styles even with the large amount of mechanics this game has. it would be expensive, but embark has tencent and arc raiders money. maintaining ai synthetic players would be a piece of cake for them

@worldly oak because your matchmaking is already “fixed”. you probably feel like you are always the best player on your team or in your games and still lose because of that right? that is exactly because of ai synthetic players getting injected into your games without your consent and without the devs telling you they exist. ai bots cannot compete, but they can come really, really close to appearing like they can. just like how ai can come really, really close to writing a school paper for you, or creating a beautiful painting, but it will always be one step short of actually succeeding in what it is trying to do.

Im a pretty new player and I have some things that I instantly noticed wich need an urgent rework.

UI: the UI can be very unintuitive and its hard to find stuff when you espacially regarding your stats or other players stats.

For example: I dont know where I can find my ranked points other than in the pre match lobby

Also it would be nice to see the whole lobby's ranks and add some kind of user profile with stats in general, where you can just click on the players name it pops up.

Health: I feel like THE FINALS has the highest ttk ive ever seen in a fps atleast from what I played before, I dont even mean a huge change or rework but it feels like its off for a few milliseconds and I often have fights where the enemy gets away with 3hp or so (could be my aim)

Please switch up the ranked meta. Would be really refreshing to have a plug meta for a season or something instead of this grief meta. Also having rank decay would make the beginning of the season ranked so much fairer for both high elo and low elo players. Like why do rubies need to start at gold. We know they can make diamond just put them at 40k from the start or 30k or whatever. The placement matches just make the skill ability in matches at the beginning of the season so mixed making solo queue impossible for the first two weeks.

Managing third parties is like, the entire point of quick cash, this is such a baffling suggestion to me. Why replace it with something entirely different when we already have several cashout modes with even team counts? Why not just play H2H instead if that's the gameplay you want? To the removal clause, gamemodes do get removed when they're very unpopular, the mode shouldn't be removed just because you don't like it if others do.

Hello dear Embark Studios team,
First of all, I want to express my deepest appreciation for your work. I absolutely love The Finals; the concept, the destructible environments, and the overall pace are fantastic. It has quickly become one of my favorite shooters, and I have a lot of respect for the passion you've put into this game.

The Issue:
Even when I set the in-game "Deadzone" slider to 0, there is a very noticeable and quite large deadzone on the right analog stick. This means the camera doesn't react to very slight movements of the stick, making fine-tuning aim feel less responsive compared to other games like Apex Legends or Battlefield.

What I've already tried (to make sure it's not on my end):

System Calibration: I performed the controller calibration in the PS5 system settings.
Hardware Test: The issue persists on two different DualSense controllers (one of them is brand new), so it's definitely not a hardware drift issue.
In-Game Settings: I've experimented extensively with the Response Curve (Linear, Sinusoidal, Exponential) and Boost settings, but the initial "stiffness" in the center remains.

It feels like there might be a small built-in or "hidden" deadzone in the game's code that the slider doesn't fully remove. On PC, I've seen players mention similar feelings about the linear curve . I'm bringing this up with the utmost respect because I believe that with your commitment to a growing and competitive game, polishing the controller feel would significantly enhance the experience for many console players . Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for everything you do for the community. I hope you can look into this when you have a moment. Keep up the legendary work!

  2. If we added a secondary weapon mechanic, similar to that of pistols and the V9S, then the range and magazine capacity of the secondary weapon would need to be reduced. Daggers would remain largely unchanged, as they can be used for flashy maneuvers like in Counter-Strike. However, the longsword's secondary weapon mechanic would need to be weakened; for example, removing the dash effect from heavy attacks.

Experimental idea:
Right now a MAJOR issue that is actually plaguing cashout, is how easy it is to just winch a cashout out into the open and play from there. This gameplay is incredibly boring.
A rough idea I had, is what if we implement some sort of "point break" area around the cashout? Make it larger of course as that is a pretty big part of the game, but still restrict it.
Like allow a large area of the building, and maybe a few meters (like only 2) all around the actual building.
This would make cashout fights far more fair, and interesting.
Again it is a really experimental idea, kind of a cashout for a weak type of test, but I think it would improve a lot.

Sword seems to have an almost over extended range alone but paired with dash is inhumane. The hit box feels huge, any swipe from far detects a hit. maybe if we can shorten it’s range at which it rushes forward for the heavy attack and don’t allow lights to pair it with dash

heey it would be awesome if light had a bit more movement options, because they're the fast class and fancy movement is fun and I like fun.

this sounds weird, but it would be really cool and unique. a light main ability that makes them continue moving as they just were (ex. if you run off a building with it on, you would just wile e coyote float outwards) it wouldn't be as fast or unpredictable as the dash, or as far travelling as the grapple, but it would let you get super creative with how you move, and strike weird angles. hover in place, extend a jump, float across rooftops, you could do a bunch of fun things, and light could use a bit of new unique gear. pls wait a bit before another full auto light gun

Embark y’all have got to add some sort of permanent tooltip about using coins in point break. I’d even be in favor of the press space to respawn prompt literally saying like “respawning will consume your team’s coins reducing your score” or something. As many have already said here one or two bad players can totally tank a game. I’ve just experienced it myself more than once, even with me averaging 15-25 revives a few folks not waiting for me to get them costs us the game.

It might seem obnoxious to add something like this but the decision has been made to make this game free to play which means technicalities like this absolutely need to be idiot proofed.

I know this server is mainly for THE FINALS, but I’m sharing this here in the hope that this feedback can be passed to the ARC Raiders team.
Please seriously consider adding an optional PvE mode or PvE servers in ARC Raiders.
Many players want to gather materials, craft gear, improve loadouts, and fight ARC with friends, but constant PvP makes using our best equipment feel too risky. We spend time building strong gear, then keep it stored because taking it into a raid often feels like guaranteed loss to other players.
We are not asking for PvP to be removed.
We are only asking for a separate optional PvE experience for players who prefer co-op, progression, and fighting ARC.
ARC Raiders has strong PvE potential, and a proper PvE option would help many players enjoy the game more and stay engaged longer.

Showing queue player count would help low-player regions coordinate Cashout/Ranked.

Footsteps are barely audible in some cases.

  • Big On-Screen Alert When a Cashout Is Being Stolen

During fights the audio cue is easy to miss.

  • Show Region while Queuing & Fix Estimates Update

Estimate is always wrong after changing region.

  • Automatic Tournaments

Most players are veterans but not pros. This bridges casual and competitive (Rocket League approach).

  • Polls & Roadmap

Players who invested time/money should influence the game's direction, not only the pro scene. We also need a roadmap (OSRS style).

Remove the ability to double a cashout. This mechanic leads to a lot of griefing, and it’s honestly crazy how many games people around me have lost because of that tactic. Removing it would likely prevent a lot of frustration and solve several issues with match integrity. Just my 2 cents.

Embark im here to suggest some improvement for us controller players, and no, i'm not asking for some sort of aim assist buff, what i'm really asking for, practically begging is an improvement for the joysticks and how they feel in game, a true 0 Deadzone would be so nice to have, micro adjustments would feel mutch more natural. Other nice improvemet would be a higher x/y sensitivity already is 750 why not go higher like 1000? let us roller player turn even faster plz. Thank you. Also fix gyro plz

Light invis is the most annoying thing to deal with. I’m sniffing them and can’t see them. The audio is not consistent so all I have to work with is my sense of smell. I abandon matches because of this and turn of the game.

Kinda BS that it just kicks everyone from the server and you get nothing for playing for 30 minutes o your life you'll never get back.

Big issues needing work:

  1. Server delays. Cant begin to describe how many times Ive died behind hard cover. Makes every fight require full commitment unless you're a heavy which dulls the depth of fights. For context, I have 50 ping so taking 3 hits from an automatic while behind hard cover is really bad.
  2. Invest more in balancing. Some items and weapons feel really clunky or outright bad. Not that any given item is terrible but make the feel and operability of said items more consistent.
  3. Improve AOE feedback. Right now, AOE can be either useless or downright broken depending on how it propagates. C4 has a huge delay that can be hard to time that animations dont communicate well. Pyro has a delay before tick damage kicks in. Gas can be hard to tell where it will tick damage.
  4. Shift mines from contact to proximity. I cant begin to describe the amount of times ive laid out mines and it fails to trigger despite being right next to an opponent due to not making direct contact. In a game as open as The Finals, it severely limits the depth of placement for mines.
  5. Put in match replay. It is really hard for new players to understand macro decision making without it.
  6. Add names to loadouts. 'Medium 1' and 'Medium 2' arent helpful tags at a glance.
  7. Add a roadmap. Trust is getting low when all we keep seeing is skins, a small balance update, or a week long arcade gamemode.
  8. Give M32 GL impact/sticky detonation switch and keep bounce option. The lack of impact detonation is the biggest reason that the M32 GL pales in comparison to the CL-40.

Experimental idea:
Right now a MAJOR issue that is actually plaguing cashout, is how easy it is to just winch a cashout out into the open and play from there. This gameplay is incredibly boring.
A rough idea I had, is what if we implement some sort of "point break" area around the cashout? Make it larger of course as that is a pretty big part of the game, but still restrict it.
Like allow a large area of the building, and maybe a few meters (like only 2) all around the actual building.
This would make cashout fights far more fair, and interesting.

if you want your game to stop bleeding players you need to focus more on the casual modes. you hardly ever improve anything about tdm, or power shift. Terminal Attack never got any changes after season 3 and it hemoraged players because it had major issues that you never addressed, and you never introduced new maps to it. Point Break needs MULTIPLE new maps, preferably the NEWER maps and not maps that are 2 years old everyone is tired of

Hi Embark Team,
I wanted to send some feedback about Terminal Attack and why a lot of us in the community would really love to see it return.
Terminal Attack added a completely different layer of strategy to The Finals that the other modes don’t quite capture. The round-based format, limited respawns, and focus on coordinated team play made every decision matter. It slowed the pace just enough to reward smart positioning, communication, and clutch plays without losing the chaotic energy that makes The Finals so fun.
For many players, Terminal Attack felt like the mode where teamwork actually shined the most. Instead of pure respawn pressure, squads had to plan pushes, defend objectives carefully, and think about utility usage. It created those high-tension moments where a single player could clutch a round, which made matches incredibly memorable.
It also helped broaden the appeal of the game. Players who enjoy tactical shooters or more competitive objective modes had a place to play within The Finals ecosystem. Removing it takes away one of the game’s most unique strategic experiences.
Bringing Terminal Attack back—even as a rotating playlist or ranked variant—would give players more variety and bring back a mode that many people considered one of the most exciting ways to experience the game.
Thanks for continuing to support and evolve the game. A lot of us really hope Terminal Attack makes a comeback!

cl40 is absolute bullshit. Fix it. Its the only gun that forces me and my team to completely change strategy. Don't have highground? might as well give the enemy a win. FIX SELF DAMGE this thing barely has any self damage if the shooter can jump. FIX SPLASH too much damage for terrible aim/prediction. reward direct hits or very close hits. The current cl40 is actually very close to the version we had back in 4.0. Honestly the only reason why this is still in the game is for accessibilitty reasons so that heavily impaired players can still have fun or because the entire dev team moved to arc a year ago.

I had a craving for a FINALS gamemode I made up called HOLD EM’
THE FINALS needs a cash accumulation, oddball style game mode that has all 4 trio teams start on the four corners of the map racing to a cash box that spawns In the middle of the map, when players grab the cash box, their team accumulates money, but You can win the game by kills alone. Dying can also lose your team cash. If a team holds on to the cash box in their possession for an entire game without anyone else stealing it, they automatically win. In special event variation game modes the team who has the box can be buffed like juggernauts, but the other teams are speed buffed. The first team with $50,000; OR the team with the most cash from kills and/or holding the cashbox; OR the team who holds on to the box for the whole match without it ever being stolen once in the game is the winner 🏆 📦 💸 💀

I know its a dumb thing but why is the 93R hammer down/resting all the time?, I love how they made guns extremely realistic and still fit the gameplay through small adjustments (dmg, ammo count, etc)
But something that always itches me is that in all that realism they apparently forgot about the 93R not being double action only, and instead the real thing is single action only
Yeah its a small thing but I really do hate seeing the hammer like that every time that I use it

Guys, I need help! I don't know where to post this, I hope devs or somebody else from Embark will see this. Or maybe someone from this chat knows what to do in this situation. I was wrongly accused of cheating and got perma banned for that. I've opened like 10 tickets appealing this ban but every time I was turned down by the same templated message which stated "our security team has confirmed the use of cheating software or tools that provide an unfair advantage in the game". This, of course, is not true. I've been playing this game since its release and I've spent like 1000+ hours and 100+ USD on it not to risk it all by using "cheating software". I don't even play ranked! I asked the support team what can I do to prove me innocent: provide data from my PC, anything, but it's all the same: "as previously stated, bla-bla-bla..." And by the way, I'm playing on a freshly installed Windows and haven't downloaded anything suspicious from unknown sources. Again, I hope somebody from Embark will see this message and do something about that unfair ban. Because I feel like I've been robbed.

with the announcements regarding the charity raising for disabled gamers, i think it would be a good idea to have some changes regarding the fair play's writing to specify what is and isn't allowed, to help gamers with physical disabilities adapt their control scheme more effectively.

the game is great, but if people's disabilities aren't properly supported in game despite the support of charity events specifically to help gamers get better support [within reasonable extents], it can end up sounding like their needs don't matter.

Hello dear Embark Studios team,
First of all, I want to express my deepest appreciation for your work. I absolutely love The Finals; the concept, the destructible environments, and the overall pace are fantastic. It has quickly become one of my favorite shooters, and I have a lot of respect for the passion you've put into this game.

The Issue:
Even when I set the in-game "Deadzone" slider to 0, there is a very noticeable and quite large deadzone on the right analog stick. This means the camera doesn't react to very slight movements of the stick, making fine-tuning aim feel less responsive compared to other games like Apex Legends or Battlefield.

What I've already tried (to make sure it's not on my end):

System Calibration: I performed the controller calibration in the PS5 system settings.
Hardware Test: The issue persists on two different DualSense controllers (one of them is brand new), so it's definitely not a hardware drift issue.
In-Game Settings: I've experimented extensively with the Response Curve (Linear, Sinusoidal, Exponential) and Boost settings, but the initial "stiffness" in the center remains.

It feels like there might be a small built-in or "hidden" deadzone in the game's code that the slider doesn't fully remove. On PC, I've seen players mention similar feelings about the linear curve . I'm bringing this up with the utmost respect because I believe that with your commitment to a growing and competitive game, polishing the controller feel would significantly enhance the experience for many console players . Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for everything you do for the community. I hope you can look into this when you have a moment. Keep up the legendary work!

  • Add projectile behavior and bullet drop near max range for all guns, just like KS23 and SR84. This will make it easier for teams to fight campers guarding cashout stations in open areas

  • Add 40 damage to direct hits with MGL32, letting it break arena props and shields while also rewarding accurate body hits

  • Add a midair detonation trigger for MGL32 and CL40 with aim button, allowing for early detonation of the shots at 50% damage so that they can still be useful when out of position

  • Buff the damage of Pike back to 50, but also nerf the firerate by 20-25% so the overall dps remains unchanged.

  • Make all Pike .556 scopes available for the SR84, and vice versa

  • Make KS23's hipfire accurate like all other shotguns, lack of headshot and hitscan already makes it too weak and unreliable compared to Akimbo and BFR

  • Remove the last 2 spins on Spear's heavy attack, or better yet, turn it into a charged spear throw with more damage than the Bow but shorter range, longer chargeup and slower recovery

  • Hide kill noises and scoreboard notifications for Dagger backstab eliminations

  • Rework Cloaking Device into a Phasing Device, which also lets users move through walls at a massive energy cost, adding useful mobility tech

  • Rework Guardian Turret to instead deploy 2 smaller turrets with less health, damage and cooldown

  • Let burn damage from Cerberus and Flamethrower light the ground and walls on fire for a few seconds, giving them some area denial

  • Add a 20 damage explosion to gas burns, making gas+fire loadouts actually useful for offense

  • Let explosions and destructions create craters on the ground as makeshift covers in open areas, allowing for trench warfare similar to BF6

  • Add knockback to explosive self-damage, allowing for tricks like Rocket Jumping and Nade Boosting from TF2

  • Add double jumps, wall running and wall kicks for all classes, like Titanfall

  • Remove ADS slow for shotguns, since they don't gain accuracy on aim anyways

Make clubs have something like

''Solo'' and ''Group'' contracts.

You still can only choose 2 club contracts per day.

Solo you can just do it solo like the name says.
Club will only be progressed between a squad of the same club or if you're just in a squad with them, and will reward more due to them being harder.

Or you could also just add something like Weekly/Monthly club contracts where all of the club will progress it and everyone who contributed gets rewarded a good amount, like 15k XP or something.

9 seasons into the game, and still dumb bugs are present.. It's a consistent thing with you embark, the barricade NEVER seems to work properly. always is a bug that keeps coming back

Honestly your game just deserves to never blow up, and stay the way it is and slowly die. Also still sprint bug present, nobody knows why. It's just embarrassing atp

Anyway just remove barricade atp, if u cant make a gadget work

"Can not shoot bug" still present. Has been since release of this game. It has something to do with reloading. Maybe it is that the goo gun wants a reload, but it makes so you can not shoot your normal weapon. So you have to switch to he goo gun reload it first, then you can shoot your normal gun. very annoying bug.

hear me out, remove vanish bomb from both the Dash and the Grapple.
i rarely see anyone use the cloaking device after all the nerfs, and i don’t feel that it needs a buff in order to bring its usage back up.

it just needs its own identity. being able to get the best of both worlds (movement & stealth) by simply using the vanish bomb in unison with the dash or the grapple; makes the cloaking device feel like a bad choice.

i feel this change would bring some emphasis back to the cloaking device.

most of these are really good.
to add: stricter premade queueing, fix the current way where you can pretty much queue with anyone. especially if duo. the solo player gets punished for playing the game when a 3k bronze and 20k gold queue together and the bronze simply doesnt have hands.
allow such premades only when they are in a full premade, so that a random solo doesnt get punished by it. look at cs and valorant, they both do it this way.

I'm gonna contribute to the general consensus that Ranked is not in a good place right now: I placed Bronze at the start of the season which is pretty far off from my usual rank so I was playing in Gold lobbies with my teammates who had much better placement matches. For 4 tournaments straight we played against Diamond trios (1W/3L) and I was winning/losing the same amount of RS as them. That means I get no extra reward for winning against people 5 ranks above me and I'm losing insane amounts of RS on a loss (literally over 10% multiple times)

I feel like matchmaking and RS rewarding needs a serious rework for Ranked to be a functional game mode.

From a personal standpoint, Season 9 was the worst season yet. Every featured highlight of Season 9 was left in the shadows of poor maintenance of the game itself.

Matchmaking being the biggest downfall. The one thing Embark could have fixed over the course of the season ended up being the biggest contributor to negative perception toward the game and player retention. If I could conclude this myself with the data I captured, I could only imagine what the hundreds of thousands of data points at Embark's disposal can say...if they even have the talent or the means to analyze it.

The lackadaisical approach to maintaining this game for its fans is really quite insulting. If Season 10 doesn't nail it...it's probably best for players to give up hope and watch Arc Raiders slowly refuse to die the same way.

Are we cool with heavies negating every fight with mesh + heal ball (or dome)?

Before you had to have med heal and heavy protect, but now the whole damn team can heal, shoot and be protected at the same time. Heal ball should at minimum take a long time to set up, or not work while holding mesh. Seriously, every time I try to drop in on a heavy he just heal ball places and mesh shields till his team gets there, or I'm out of ammo.

Heavies already have crazy strong weapons for the 350 health class, why do they also get shields AND self healing????

I'm tired of being REQUIRED to run glitch because otherwise heavies have huge advantage over me. Light is a pretty gadget diverse class, but meta is FORCING light to run some variation of H+, Glitch, Invis Bomb, and maybe gateway sometimes.

UPDATE YOUR ANTICHEAT!!! It's not ONLY THE BRAN NEW ACCOUNTS that are the best players. Never ever are the games completely one sided and it's levels 60-100+. It's ALWAYS THE BRAN NEW ACCOUNTS. It's not a coincidence that only new players are challenging to play. Fix your anticheat and stop cheaters before they cam get to level 2. It's absolutely ridiculous how I can play entire teams, levels 60-100+ and it's fun challenging, evenly matched games. It's only when the opponents are level 1-30 when the match is completely one sided with a level 6 light build 30 kills and 6 deaths. There are people in the game who've reported that their own friends are able to relentlessly rage hack over and over again. FIX YOUR ANTICHEAT TO THE HIGHEST LEVELS POSSIBLE.
I can't get through more than 3 or 4 games without getting into a match vs mysteriously impossible level 6, 12, and 20s. Even the other level 100+ players on my team quit, or can only get 5 kills while the level 2 and 6 on the other team have 28 and 32 kills. It's blatantly obvious these people are cheating. People have literally told you their own friends cheat over and over again for fun.

I wanted to send some feedback about Terminal Attack and why a lot of us in the community would really love to see it return.
Terminal Attack added a completely different layer of strategy to The Finals that the other modes don’t quite capture. The round-based format, limited respawns, and focus on coordinated team play made every decision matter. It slowed the pace just enough to reward smart positioning, communication, and clutch plays without losing the chaotic energy that makes The Finals so fun.
For many players, Terminal Attack felt like the mode where teamwork actually shined the most. Instead of pure respawn pressure, squads had to plan pushes, defend objectives carefully, and think about utility usage. It created those high-tension moments where a single player could clutch a round, which made matches incredibly memorable.
It also helped broaden the appeal of the game. Players who enjoy tactical shooters or more competitive objective modes had a place to play within The Finals ecosystem. Removing it takes away one of the game’s most unique strategic experiences.
Bringing Terminal Attack back—even as a rotating playlist or ranked variant—would give players more variety and bring back a mode that many people considered one of the most exciting ways to experience the game.
Thanks for continuing to support and evolve the game. A lot of us really hope Terminal Attack makes a comeback!

Please take into consideration changes to the Ranked system with the new season.

  1. There should be prober RS loss prevention in place in case someone leaves/disconnects.
  2. The game should finally accurately categorize ranked lobbies (Easy/Intermediate/Challenging). I, as Gold 1 SoloQ should not encounter 3stacks of Diamond players in an "Easy" lobby.
  3. Personal Performance should influence the amount of RS gained/lost.

oh and outside of ranked:
-Nerf to Sword (CD on Dash)
-Nerf to Double Swords (Block on a timer/stamina bar, and/or smaller hitbox that needs to be aimed at incoming fire, giving opposing players a outplay condition)
-Nerf to CL40 (more self dmg, bunnyhopping should not negate selfdmg. (see RPG) also, it would force players to position themselfes smarter.)
Yes yes "those weapons are bad/useless in top lobbies ... but most people don't play top lobbies, and they DOMINATE the majority of lobbies.

How to correctly balance the 93R (its current TTK is awful)

The 93R's current TTK is even worse than it was pre-S5 and in my honest opinion it is subpar versus other light class options (like the ARN, the XP-54, the V9S and the LH1).
This weapon gets out-damaged in most cases by the FAMAS (across all classes), a similar 3-round burst weapon with 4 more rounds in the magazine present in the medium class, which has 100 more HP.
In my opinion it doesn't make sense that the light class burst weapon has... less DPS potential than the medium class burst weapon?

Proposed 93R changes:
Damage: 24** (same)**
Burst delay: 0,275s > 0,23s

This change will result in the following TTKs (Time-to-kill):

Body:
light: 0,81s -> ** 0,72s** (7 shots) (does NOT 2 burst lights with body shots only)
medium: 1.28s -> 1,14s (11 shots)
heavy: 1.74s -> 1,56s (15 shots)

Head:
light: 0.47s -> 0,42s (5 shots)
medium: 0.81s -> 0,72s (7 shots)
heavy: 1.22s -> 1,08s (10 shots)

Damage drop-off minimum range: 30m ->** 27m**
Damage drop-off maximum range: 37.5m ->** 34.5m**
Damage Dropoff Modifier @ Max Range: 50%** (it stays the same)**

These changes will make the weapon solid while not making it overpowered; for comparison, the ARN, a weapon with effectively a 60 round magazine, more range, and fully automatic has TTKs that are on average 10% faster than the 93R. This makes it effectively a completely superior option while being easier to use and way more forgiving. Missing a burst on the 93R means you are extremely penalised in your killing potential. This isn't the case for the ARN.

With these changes, the 93R will not 2 burst lights with body shots only, which was the product of an oversimplified "nuclear" buff made in Season 5.
This proposal will also make the 93R less capable to poke at long range due to lower minimum and maximum drop-off ranges, leaving that task to options such as the ARN and the LH1 (preserves the weapon niche).

for gods sake embark, i got disconnected from my ranked match NOT ON PURPOSE i had some wifi issues and i reconnected but I STILL GOT MOVED TO LAST PLACE AND LOST ALL OF MY POINTS. I know it is prohibited but if i dev my own cheat with DMA/kmbox/fuze/Yolo vision for me and my friend AND create a support platform for embark to let them create a ticket if they see us abusing it, like they do, do you think it is OK ? The cheat will be ONLY to counter other cheaters when we see it of course, we promise like you when you promise a fair matchmaking without cheaters !
(All "they dont cheat they just better" or "I play 10 million games and i just see 2 of them" you just naive and dont know that "The house always wins".)

Please consider looking into the issues with lack of players in other modes in Oceana and Asia. Not sure what you could do about this Embark, but it would be nice to be able to play other modes without using the US region, which comes with 220 ping minimum.

This means a lot of Oceana-based players cannot even get their challenges done to unlock the free weapon skins.

Maybe combining the regions, or making an option to also include players in matchmaking beyond your region selected would be nice.

Heavy is a tank class, but it is not reflective of that. Tank classes should have high health, low speed and lower damage. Most heavy weapons have <0.70 TTKs on lights, which is sometimes LOWER than TTK of med or light on lights. Now that was a little more balanced when heavy couldn't heal themselves, encouraging teamplay more, so you had to throw up mesh and wait to be healed or helped, but now its just an extra like 100 health as they heal behind mesh, PLUS mesh health, PLUS ruining most surprise attacks, which is a large part of lights gameplay.

Light is a hit-and-run class, in case you forgot.

Every heavy is Dome + RPG + Heal Ball, every single time. Unfun and non-diverse meta.

You are kinda asking for the possibility for a light to win when you play into a heavy's strengths. The meta is going to be strong but there are definitely ways around it. There are various ways to drop the box, etc. You cant expect a light to win if you run into a heavy with mesh, dome, and an rpg yaknow what i mean? I do agree it can feel repetitive but meta is meta :p If a heavy has heal ball out they are gonna be stuck in one position, so try to find an off angle. Hit and run tactics mean you dont want to be seen. You wont get a kill off of one peak everytime, but the damage will help.

because TF2 spy backstabs r cool like that, Wanga Prick and Eternal Reward daggers let spy get silent backstabs without notifying enemies.

The main reason is because Dagger is too much of a gimmicky weapon rn, especially after the nerf to backstab angle. In TF2, Spy can consistently get behind enemy not only thanks to his noiseless cloak but also his disguise kit which works all the time.

The only current viable way to use backstab rn is to dash and backstab, because light doesn't have any other specs rn more fitting for that weapon. Cloak makes too much noise and makes enemies turn around, Grappling Hook has too much cooldown to be used consistently. So this change would open up ways for chain backstabs and reward good positioning. At the very least, this would be a cool gimmick that fits the assassin style gameplay associated with the dagger.

i'm hard stuck plat, and have been for 4 seasons in a row, never hit diamond on ranked, i get into a gold rank this season.

i get 2th seeding (very easy). i go against several season diamond and ruby stacks who are 8th seeding, i get my teeth kicked in and lose 2000 points.

you guys said you are going to do a new rework the match making to make it better for players in their ranks to feel like a fair match, clearly not.

not only is the smurfing problem impossible to fight against, i run into fresh accounts, with 30 wins and 2500 kills some just flat out spin spinning and just head shooting everyone.

the worst fresh account i ran into was 40 wins and 12000 kills and 100 revives. how is that possible

if this game is to survive the two main things that need to be fixed is the ranked match making, and the smurfs. cheaters are one thing because when they get banned, i get my elo back.

Perhaps embark should work out a good method to not have to totally wipe everyone’s rank every season. It’d largely avoid the issue of good players being underrated due to not having hit their peak yet.

If embark could figure out roughly how much of an RS reduction from the system would be needed to prevent inflation, then they could shift everyone’s rank a little to do this and have the placement matches start from there, rather than from the baseline every time

I really enjoy collecting outfits and skins, but my outfit slots are already full and it’s getting difficult to decide which one to replace whenever I get a new style. Would it be possible to increase the number of available slots?

I also have another feature request:
A “Random Favorite” outfit option for loadouts. If that’s not clear, the idea would be that the game automatically selects a random outfit from a player’s saved outfits (or possibly from outfits marked as favorites) at the start of each match.

This would make it easier to use a larger variety of cosmetics without having to manually switch between them every time.

Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole but of course that increases the frustration for alot of people. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 138 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

Embark please make the matchmaking better cause I was having some fun with my friends showing how underated this game was. But the second match we played in (they are both under lvl 20) and we get into a match against 2 ruby 3 stacks in quickcash and we get absolutely smashed. even me who has a lot of experience still ended up with only 14 k and 12 deaths while my friends started getting frustrated.. Please embark fix this when S10 releases because the players have a lot of fun but being put into the sweatiest matches after a hard day is something people will start to get annoyed at and ditch the game altogether. I love this game and I hope you see this.

  • Give us 3 Avoid as Teammate slots for Ranked Cashout, that's enough for one team if we're playing as a trio, or a couple of teammates if I'm solo.
  • Let us designate a new group leader before we start a match. Gotta be honest, this is a basic feature for an online multiplayer game.
  • Allow us to play custom games, practice range, or TDM while queuing for any game mode. Just like Overwatch, R6, etc
  • Enable changing weapon optics during practice range. Enable 2-second equipment and specialization cooldown in practice range
  • Test out map bans in Ranked. Buff/rework data reshaper. Buff/rework mgl32. Rework/nerf m11. Where is thermal vision at?

@copper blaze better yet, move the platform path somewhere else in sys horizon, and Seoul. Great maps, but the platform path enables and encourages frustrating play styles.

For people saying "Why don't you play Head2Head?": it is NOT played in SA, my region. Quick Cash is the main mode there. New players constantly face veterans who ignore the objective and treat it like TDM, making it frustrating and easy to quit.

During fights the audio cue is easy to miss.

  • Show Region while queuing + fix estimate updates

Estimates stay wrong after switching region.

I think you need to consider class based weapon damage balancing in some cases. For example - the CL-40 overall isn't OP - but against lights it's WAY too strong - especially in cashout final rounds where you can just switch to CL-40 if there's 2 lights on the other team! I don't see any downside considering class-based weapon balancing at this point (just for fine-tuning)

I stopped giving feed back to this channel long ago because i feel like embark doesn't read or give active feedback. I and most of the players wants to see the effect of their feed back at the very least they want to see that embark reads them. I hope you guys give directly or indirectly answer to this channel but i guess you guys only look at dumb ah reddit posts... I have 2k+ hours i started to play the game when it was open beta and play soloq climb to ruby like when i give feedback i feel like they need to look at it. I and a lot of high level players don't just yapp about the game. I am not saying we don't yapp but if we say some stuff is bad don't just ignore. We don't have a lot of ways to give feedback like pro players (i might have played comp but phl stuff happened you guys didn't give a usefull info about that as well as far as i know)

Why is there no replay in Point Break? It just incentives in an already chaotic gamemode! Ive gotten over 20 accounts banned in the last few weeks.

The anticheat also needs an update it seems. Alot more cheaters that usual this season. Most notably wallhacks and no recoil exploits.

I would really like to see more "The Finals" brand cosmetics in the the in-game store. I think as "Worlds Greatest Gameshow!" it should have a bit more ways to show our dedication as fans. Even if it's just re-skins of existing items, I think there should be a more "The Finals" options in the store. I love all the various sponsors but I think the store have a bit more "The Finals" branded "merch". I think the F2P customization options are great and I like that they are mostly "The Finals" but I'd love to see just a few more "The Finals" cosmetic free or paid in the store. I think it would be fitting for the in-game narrative/lore to see contestants of all skill levels rocking "The Finals" cosmetics along side all the others options.

That doesn't make sense when talking about the riot shield, he's talking about the fact you take little no damage from explosions while using the shield getting DIRECT HIT BY A ROCKET, it should not be able to tank a full clip of the minigun and kill a guy in a few hits without having to only smack them or switch to a melee to deal enough damage to kill them since fire and gas can be walked out of with little issue since you can't deal enough damage for it to finish them off

No clue what that consulate to what I was saying all I’m saying is a riot. Shield shouldn’t be able to withstand six different people firing at it and not at least get staggered not saying let’s owe nerve to the ground. I’m saying just add a stagger effect to where at least somebody can kill it without having to mag dump five different times on them while we have to focus on a full strategy on how to counteract one person or let’s have an entire team of mediums using riot shields just a bull rush into a point and guess what can’t do nothing one’s blocking the back end once blocking that in while the other just jumping you all I’m saying is at a stagger effect it kind of feels like an unbalanced weapon then again there is the double barrel shotgun as well where I’ve watched my teammates get dropped by that thing from three stories down from a light using it while dashing and teleporting or grappling. I’m listing these off individually because one those are things that are mainly just kind of annoying dealing with as people running away from every fight like that, but I’ll say it again the riot shield feels a little bit overpowered because if you’re on PC, you can just whip a full 360 and block a lot of stuff and it’s not just me who complains about it either my friends do too just feels like that thing is a little bit overpowered adding a stunt effect would actually make it feel a little bit fair because for one you can stun them and they can no longer just charge you and then down you not trying to start like a whole hate thing going on just saying make it a little bit fair if you like to continue the conversation DM me

Embark im here to suggest some improvement for us controller players, and no, i'm not asking for some sort of aim assist buff, what i'm really asking for, practically begging is an improvement for the joysticks and how they feel in game, a true 0 Deadzone would be so nice to have, micro adjustments would feel mutch more natural. Other nice improvemet would be a higher x/y sensitivity already is 750 why not go higher like 1000? let us roller player turn even faster plz. Thank you. Also fix gyro plz

hey there, all class main here who has both used and countered riot shield. Riot shield is kind of spesifically made to counter your gun. Your gadgets like pyro grenade, jump pad, or anything that will allow you to do Area Of Effect damage. Heck, explosive canisters are scattered around the arena so you never have an excuse for not being able to to damage. Jump pad is a very good gadget to use as well because whilst flying through the air, a riot shield will not be able to block your shots. Oh and btw you can shoot their feet.

Embark, I love you guys but I'm begging you to please fix sword. Doing this will raise the skill ceiling to a place where skill expression is possible at all. Sword won't dominate lower lobbies as much because people won't be spamming M1, and sword will be usable in ranked past platinum. This will also completely fix the "360 spinning tech" because there will be no reason to spin if you can only hit one target.

Right now, sword is only viable in plat or below. Any player who is good will instakill sword because of the aimlock. Almost any sidestep will make the sword miss their lunge. As soon as I hit Plat 1, and certainly into Diamond, sword is COMPLETELY unplayable. And this is coming from a 700 hr sword main.

By removing multihit on lunge but keeping it on M1, we maintain the unique identity of the sword (which is the lunge because spamming M1 on an enemy is not viable for a light weapon) and give the M1 a purpose (which will be to hit groups of enemies because it will have multihit). The M2 buff is necessary, because sword will be incredibly underpowered without the multihit if it stays at the same damage.

overhaul ranked, use an invisible rs with concrete ranks instead of rank being based off numbers. Ranks are only changed every week and works the same as the weekly rank adjustment, this means that in the long run you are punished less for going against smurfs and cheaters. If you lose like 8 games in a row you lose less rs for the last compared to the first and the same works with winning. This means that you wont be punished for having a row of bad games aswell as makes boosting harder. For a game that is so random the rank system is too straight forward and just looks copy pasted from basically every 2 team shooter games

For people saying "Why don't you play Head2Head?": it is NOT played in SA, my region. Quick Cash is the main mode there. New players constantly face veterans who ignore the objective and treat it like TDM, making it frustrating and easy to quit.

One Cashout round followed by head-to-head matches → 1v2 & 3v4 → 2v3.

Serious feedback on Sword

I played Sword for about 1000h (hit rank 90 with it before) and a few things get lost in the heated "Sword is overpowered/unplayable" discussion.

First of all both sides need to be understood where they are coming from.

Yes in a casual lobby where people don't hit the important shots a Sword that is just running around and left clicking people to death seems absurd, overpowered and has little to do with skill expression.

The Problem is as soon as you cross the line of people investing enough time to hit even just a moderate amount of their shots left clicks become less and less viable and you have to learn combos and movement tricks to minimize the damage you take while maximizing the damage output. That's where the sword lunge comes in. Lunging is the part where skill expression shows with movement, spacial awareness and positioning. With reducing the damage AND introducing a rotation clamp the lunge becomes really clunky to use and less effective than the simpler M1 spamm.

So what can Embark do to fix the issue for both sides ? Put the focus of the weapon back on the lunge to reduce frustrating scenarios.

Second Problem, lunging through an entire team and dealing massive damage with very little counterplay should not be a thing. It is very frustrating to play against and extremely situational. It should be like other melee weapons. Left clicking less damage but can multihit and the "special attack" single target but is special in some way. Hammer has a single target high damage and destruction. Sword should have single target damage on the lunge but high mobility.

The rotational clamp itself got introduced to get rid of people 360° rotating through an entire team for a huge hurtbox and is without multihits therefore redundant.

I intentionally didn't talk about hit registration because it haunts the game as a whole but of course that increases the frustration for alot of people. Like all other bugs it should not be a reason to increase/decrease the weapons power and should rather be fixed.

Changes

M1 Damage 88 -> 74 (one more left click for each class)

Lunge Multihits -> removed
Lunge Damage 120 -> 140 (without multihits and less left click damage you need the combo breakpoint of 138 to have a fighting chance)
Lunge rotational clamp -> removed

Other Feedback

Ranked needs one less round. The current playerbase can't sustain proper matchmaking with 24 player lobbies. Cutting it in half with 12 player lobbies and 2 rounds for everyone so even the "losing teams" play for 3rd place would not only help with players being on similar skill levels but also relieve frustration for the casual playerbase from losing rs in 15 mins but gaining the same amount in 45 mins.

I wanted to send some feedback about Terminal Attack and why a lot of us in the community would really love to see it return.
Terminal Attack added a completely different layer of strategy to The Finals that the other modes don’t quite capture. The round-based format, limited respawns, and focus on coordinated team play made every decision matter. It slowed the pace just enough to reward smart positioning, communication, and clutch plays without losing the chaotic energy that makes The Finals so fun.
For many players, Terminal Attack felt like the mode where teamwork actually shined the most. Instead of pure respawn pressure, squads had to plan pushes, defend objectives carefully, and think about utility usage. It created those high-tension moments where a single player could clutch a round, which made matches incredibly memorable.
It also helped broaden the appeal of the game. Players who enjoy tactical shooters or more competitive objective modes had a place to play within The Finals ecosystem. Removing it takes away one of the game’s most unique strategic experiences.
Bringing Terminal Attack back—even as a rotating playlist or ranked variant—would give players more variety and bring back a mode that many people considered one of the most exciting ways to experience the game.
Thanks for continuing to support and evolve the game. A lot of us really hope Terminal Attack makes a comeback!

A few suggestions, feedback, and ideas

  • balancing at a more reasonable rate these season long reworks are getting tiresome and is just annoying seeing it there not being able to use it

  • remove what ever match making bs system and add a decent match making for ONLY ranked

  • add a list or playlist section full of the arcade and ltm modes that cycle or is a list to pick from for the casual players sometimes the game is way to competitive in just regular queue and to stop removing and reworking slightly to call "new"

  • introduce new modes into the playlist or section I recommend as permanent additions

  • lessen the focus on cosmetic don't get me wrong you got some awesome cosmetics but it just seems like that's the main focus over gameplay

  • make a currency transfer of sorts to allow vrs to turn into show tokens and then allow excess show tokens be made into multibucks by players choice

can yall make it so anything object going through gateway doesn't comeback on its own?
it ain't the portal gun, its super counter intuitive when you want to transfer something like a teammate statue and it fails not because it hit a wall, but its shot upwards slightly and it falls back in it with like a few milliseconds because you threw the entrance on top.
