ive made a tier list of how much i like the maps and variants

omg I just realized they're probably gonna do an under construction variant of fangwai in the future, with the big building breaking up the middle
that could actually be PEAK

one thing i realized in a convo with my friend recently is that fangwai is basically the only map with realistic geography and architecture - that is, in a vacuum you could see it being a real place - that isn't actually based on/named after a real city. Seoul, Monaco, Bernal, Vegas, all real places, Kyoto is of course Kyoto in the era of feudal japan, and the rest of the maps are all unrealistic and videogame-y. Except fangwai, and I guess PEACE center counts for that though it's not trying to represent any real place to begin with

I think my personal favorite to this day is still Seoul aswell. But the quality of Fangwai is undeniably great.
And it feels like the map is pretty balanced in terms of spawns and positions. Haven't played as much either, but every push for cashout, felt like we had tons of possibilites, which is great.

The big flaw of Seoul is still the hospital. Older maps can feel unbalanced, and i didnt have that feeling with Fangwai which is great

Point break feels so crowded sometimes. It’s just overwhelming to do 5v8s when 2 teammates are lights constantly waiting in respawn and the last is a heavy reinforcing the wrong vault.

Not asking for a brand new map, but in the same type of way Vegas got reworked: make a couple variations of arenas that significantly change their layout and designate them as power Shift maps. Same with point break. Give them a brand new flow, and especially in power Shift maybe it won't enable and encourage frustrating play styles. Keep their visual and aesthetic design.

This is the best proof of medieval season. But still I can't visualize it. A castle doesnt necessarily means it's medieval. The Pitchforks at the end of the trailers is also another decent clue.

But the interchangeable mace looks too modern, Alfa Acta being a sponsor known for weapons and firepower doesnt indicate medieval either. Idk, to me it just doesn't seem medieval at all. Seems a bit stretched but not impossible.

I actually think hopefully it's going to be a part of the melee rework. One idea I love for the melee rework is giving melee weapons a utility on their reload button, and I really hope this weapon was designed with that in mind and is a sort of teaser for the melee reworks.
So primary attack is a standard attack
Secondary attack is that mace heads special move
And the reload button will let you change out the mace heads

I feel like light has to have the crossbow because medium and heavy already got their new weapons in S8 and I predict that the new specialisation would go to the medium class because the figure in the teaser video looks like a medium class model and giving it to heavy is too many specialisations to have and light already has enough movement to have a hover UFO type specialisation. And by the size of the mace it should make sense to give it to medium cuz the melee weapons are buns and that blue sphere gadget should also go to medium because both light has gravity vortex and heavy has anti-grav cube and if you look closely the sphere has those similar particles identical to the gravity gadgets or let it be for all classes.

Hey medieval friends, I'm loving the new map, but it's still a lil disppointment the fact that we don't got the full map release. And the lack of castle... The theme is just so awesome, BP phenomal, not complaining at all.
But seems to me like a waste of resources to make a map for a specific gamemode. Instead of having the map avaialble accross all modes :/ Idk how's yall sentiment towards new map.

I just have hoped that medieval season would feel way more epic in sieging castles, have proper defense walls to breach etc. The village seems bit underwhelming imo, but still cool. And also hoping that we get more in the future, cuz technically Embark has the blueprint for medieval buildings in the game now, so could mean something in later seasons....

also, I thought the idea of each map was to either be a clear digital arena like fortune stadium, CNS' artsy arenas, or an actual place. the new map is just kinda made up. thats probably a nitpick but I think the last thing this game needs is a departure from it's original cool feel and odd grounded-ness, despite being obviously a virtual world.
