Cashouts is the better metric. How could I get third partied in a game where I had no cashouts? Sure, the same team might third repeatedly, but they can only do that 3, maybe 4 times before the game ends. My stats show it's clearly a general trend, not just one team bullying me.

If anything, including third parties where I'm trying to steal a cashout would probably make this metric even higher. Which is ridiculous to think about. I kept track of the groups of thirds/cashouts per game at first but then got lazy, so I don't have that data for most of it

A third party is just whenever you are fighting another team and yet another team comes and joins the fight. But depending on your definition you can describe whatever you want it to be, and only mark when you get third partied. Taking both the total number of games into consideration and the total number of cashouts you get thirded on allows you to get better data like "what is my % chance a game will have a third party" or "what is the average amount of third party instances in a game". What you have now is biased very high because you only have 95 total results. If you have 2-3 games of people constantly thirding, that gives you roughly 7 - 9 third party instances, changing your data by over 10%.

I just fundamentally think that's a flawed question because that value will vary greatly match to match depending on your opponents. You could throw out the outliers of people constantly griefing or third partying but idk if that's in the best interest of this study because regardless of whether or not it's an outlier case you're stuck in that match.

I'm confused what your point is then. Mine is that it's too easy and too rewarding to third party, and I think the game needs to change to fix it. I don't need to tighten the variance in my estimate to show that my experience is pretty far from "random chance". It's significantly higher than the theoretical odds of getting third partied at all (which is slightly below 50%, assuming each attacking team has a 50% chance of thirding, the lone defending team has an 80% chance of fourth-partying, and counting third partying teams as "third partied" themselves -- plenty of generosity towards the highest possible value this could actually be).

If anything, my question being more specific (per-cashout defended rather than per-time-per-game generally) just makes my point more clear
