From a 6k hour player here - thank you for the good times 2 1/2 years ago. The game is unplayable and boring currently. Ranged/ physical meta/ one tap meta is boring. ZERO skill required to one tap anyone. reducing modifiers to 1 would have been completely fine and leaving the hp pools the same..... but the current changes are unplayable and the game will have no players unless major overhauls back to playtest 2 levels in the next 48 hours. most servers are dead already.

Balance balance balance wahh wah wahh. Remember when SDF said "Every fight isn't meant to be fair"? I guess that only applies to solo players. I'd rather get gear diffed than team diffed. Both removing solos AND removing gear have nuked the player base. They removed solos to have more people in lobbies but there is the same or less per queue now with the player count. Soon will easily be less with the rate of player loss. All they had to do was keep the game the way it was before removing solos and adding +all +ms to gear and finish the damn water map.

Sorcerer is better with gear that has a bunch of magic stats on it, and they just pretty much removed all gear stats that was worth looking for so its gonna be rougher than usual learning it rn. Playing with someone or watching someone at a higher level stream sorc play is your best bet just copy what they do. Normally there's multiple ways to build it like melee, merge, or single spell spam but idk what you can pull off and it feel good with this gear situation

There's been multiple times when lobbies and balance were just fine. Not perfect but it is never perfect in any game. Fact of the matter is SDF dropped the ball trying to micro manage the meta and queue sizes. Now we have no gear, no lobbies, and a player count in freefall that won't make it to the end of August if the trend of loss continues.

Unlikely they will unless we have a massive influx of players. Reducing lobbies for queue times is what happens when a game is dying. They don't have the player count to fill all of the features in the game so they reduce the number of features.

If I'm not wrong Iron Mace made at least twice the amount the judge fined them, sadly Iron Mace didn't divulge the money earnings outside the court so we can't know for sure how much money they made, but the fine was based on a short period of time not all the time DaD was released meaning it's not all the money they made.

Genuine question, what if instead of no random modifiers, and instead of the broken move speed bullshit we had in the last few weeks, every piece of gear has ONE random modifier BUT the ROLL VALUE depends on rarity. So like, a green chest piece could roll for +1 Vig, blue could be +2 Vig, purple is +3, gold +4, and unique +5. I genuinely think this would solve the issue that currently exists where no random modifiers makes gear feel minimally valuable, but also makes it so you STILL have to build what you want to build. You can’t spend 500k gold on a kit and just have all stats. I think this would be good because it could potentially solve both issues. What do yall think? Good idea? If not, why not?

This is a good ideia, the one i had was 1 modifier for green and blues, 2 modifiers for purple and legendary, 3 or 1 higher for unique and artifacts.

Hopefully the bones of the gear and class identity actually do get some balance.
I believe this was actually a sober play for long term game health, a lot of people mad because you cant build an anyclass anymore, you have to play your strengths as your class. Obviously there are some problems because they ripped the bandaid off. From here I think they want to still add power without making it possible for example; a rogue approaching 200hp.
I fully expect the readdition of random modifiers in a new capacity (perhaps relevant to the item itself) not because people are crying but because that was always the plan, they need the base stats to make sense first though.
Either way I’m not dooming, its just shitty to have to have this sobering change so late in development.

There is so many direct competitors to this game now, where previously there was not. It's a Medieval Arena BR. It is no longer a looter/extraction PvPvE. This game sucks now. Loot feels meaningless now. There’s barely anything exciting to find. Substats are gone, and everything just feels bland. If I wanted to PvP that badly, I’d just play For Honor. You either die and lose your common loot, or survive with common loot. Even the Squire gives me better loot than what I find in the dungeon. They removed substats, flattened the gear curve, and raised the overall damage, so fights end faster and feel even more unforgiving. It’s like they solved nothing and just ripped out half the game’s identity. Sure, some people enjoy hopping in and swinging swords with no strings attached — that’s fine. But that’s what Arena Mode is for. The main game was always about risk, tension, and reward and not just mindless fighting. Either way, who cares? Time to move on to a different game.

Genuine question, what if instead of no random modifiers, and instead of the broken move speed bullshit we had in the last few weeks, every piece of gear has ONE random modifier BUT the ROLL VALUE depends on rarity. So like, a green chest piece could roll for +1 Vig, blue could be +2 Vig, purple is +3, gold +4, and unique +5. I genuinely think this would solve the issue that currently exists where no random modifiers makes gear feel minimally valuable, but also makes it so you STILL have to build what you want to build. You can’t spend 500k gold on a kit and just have all stats. I think this would be good because it could potentially solve both issues. What do yall think? Good idea? If not, why not?

Don't worry, not a player anymore. You must be fairly new to the game and play about 2-5 hours a week. Hope they enjoy that demographic of players compared to folks like Fwog, Lorr, Soapy, Todd, Jay, Sparky, etc... Must be players like them too? This is not even close to the game I got excited about and I will absolute complain when they remove the main element of fun in the game.. Looting. Ah yes, an extraction looter where the loot/gear we find don't mean anything. One to two point difference is barely anything. The whole point is to loot and get better gear with better modifiers so you can do something against those with gear. Kill them and take their gear to improve your own. Those complaining about being stat checked is most likely those who zero to hero high roller which is gonna have people with gear. What do you expect 😂. I love this game and I want to see it prosper but when I can pretty much one tap someone in purp or legendaries or vice versa then there isn't anything to it. I still play because it is the only game I actually like ever since Cycle Frontier shut down. All I can really do right now is really improve my skills through fighting because there is no point in gear currently.

This whole chat isnt even about game discussion its people crying and other people complaining about whos tear fell out of which eye. Talk about what you think needs changed not threaten people that make the game you play. This has been ongoing since Ice cavern dropped. They are tired of balancing modifiers and worked on gear. Big win. removing tho??? Random modifiers needed changed to stats only, idk why the devs havent figured that out but if our random modifiers were literally just our main attributes (strength, dex, agi, etc) you can have fine tuned builds for specific combat styles without making a boc lock with catice have 200 hp and one tap 300 hp barbs. Now big loss time. Stop fixing and changing. Dump a lot of content. My take (flawed but reasonable) MS shouldnt be a roll or attribute period, and classes should have different soft caps (gear based speed) with a hard cap (ability usage or shrines) being universal. Barb shouldnt catch rogue, just as a fighter shouldnt catch a ranger. I really liked the new teaming system actually. I thought id hate the trios only but atleast in normals it was fun to find dudes lacking a 3rd and join up to help out. If they make the spawns per match balanced instead of random (for instance, even number of team types in the same match, if you load in with three there will be one trio team to match, solos one solo player to match) No friendly encounters is actually the lamest stupidest thing ive ever seen a game do. Taking away from players enjoying games with players. Imagine that. Also, to any developer listening, Ark and Conan Exiles dropped around the same time, Conan spent a couple years fixing bugs and patching glitches while Ark pushed out content endlessly with only major gamebreaking bugs being a priority. Ark absolutely stomped out Conan in terms of sales for a long time. The ceiling for potential for Dark and Darker has always been freaking humongous, so stop breaking the foundation and work on adding floors.

insteead of addressing the gear disparity to such a large degree why the fuck havsent u devs just tried to adjust the variables of the stats themselves instead of completely removing them. In order to get all spells for casters you need mostly knowledge gear leaving you in 1 tap range to ranged weapons. give back random modifiers but cap stat gain to "1" or "1%" so gear actually means something...

• they should not be decreasing TTK. They should be increasing it, giving more chance for class/skill expression during PvP and more chances to use the environment of the dungeon during fights
• there are problems with MS/true damage/+all and they are right to re-examine those rolls and limit/remove them
• removing all stat rolls is a terrible choice. They should lower the number of rolls per rarity and maybe adjust the numbers to be lower across the board
• the lack of end game progression (especially with no real reason to hunt gear now) is a game killer. They should invest in expanding options for players to grind towards (put out titles/cosmetics associated with hard achievements), player housing/social spaces with cosmetic rewards for huge grinds
• new content needs to be prioritized over balance changes. 8 months of balance tweaks with no major content updates is crazy
• they need to demonstrate some tiny form of credibility in their decision making. Spending time developing multiple systems just to make them meaningless a couple months later is a joke

The only thing Dnd need to add is : 1 extras stats on all items BUT! exemple : a green item can only can +1 max HP, a blue item can have +2 Max hp, a Purple item can have +3 Max hp and Legend can have +4 Max Hp. That was you can improve your max Hp or Move speed or DMG but not all stats !
