You have no idea how to balance your game. Barbarians will still be 1-shotting everything, while half the classes will be stuck at the low end of their potential due to stat curves.

Without high end gear modifiers: Classes like Wizards, Sorcerers, and Warlocks will be essentially useless. Only Clerics, Barbarians, and Druids (who do well with squire gear) will be forced to the meta.

Without the ability to gain rolls on gear, you cannot create any form of interesting build.

You say you have "plans" to focus more on building around perks and skills, yet history has shown you will take years to make any new features that are balanced.

TLDR: YOUR GAME IS DYING BECAUSE YOUR VISION IS ABOUT AS GOOD AS HELLEN KELLER'S WAS AND YOU ARE AN INCOMPETENT DEVELOPER

ok what do we think about giving slight buffs to solos or duos in the trios queue allowing them to have a fair fight against trios? Escape from Tarkov has one queue and you can be 1v5 but due to their 1 shot mechanic you can win 1v5s. I don’t think DaD should have a 1 shot mechanic but I think this is what SDF is aiming for whether it’s insane or not.

they could just make arrows stack in 200s and bolts in 150s would fix the quiver issue and all you would have to do in code is change game_arrow_stack_count by adding a 0 or for more effort for the devs make it stack in 100s and 75s but that would require more key presses

I agree, but being competitive shouldn't be reserved for people who grind 8h/day (has been the case the half the wipe for several wipes now). High gear gap means new players get skill diffed AND gear diffed at the same time. Also, the current random roll system has a steep and boring learning curve. At the same time, looking at a player never tells you how geared they actually are (with exception of crafted items, but even then you don't know if they have BIS rolls), so if you are not BIS yourself, it's always a coin flip when you commit to a fight.

I think the current game loop is grindy and a bit toxic to the playerbase. It takes quite some effort to put together a good kit. Imagine having 300h and wanting to play HR 😅

Well that's kind of what they are doing (as far as I can see), but they are taking an incremental bottom to top aproach. They testes no rolls and are now testing all gear with 1 random roll. Their goal is to not have it random, so I'm guessing pieces will have set bonuses (kind of how crafted gear has some base stats in the same category). That way, you can tell what build someone is running and I think that would go a long way to make PvP more interesting. I think of how you can kind of tell in Rust how many bullets you need to take someone down at a glance.

Nope, already seen what theyve done to items on test servers. Its a very severe nerf and removal of certain rolls that makes certain classes (casters/rangers) good at a high gear level. Imo as someone that only plays hr trios, before this season the rolls were in a ok spot. Not perfect since +all and MS%/HP% rolls were in the game but a lot better than currently. They just had to do simple tweaking and it wouldve been in a great position.. Random rolls are very fun imo and makes gear either good off rip of just used for socketing. I dont personally see the fun in picking up items and everything is just good. At that point just make us load in with prekits like CoD TDM. Yes theres plenty of skill I dont understand how people dont see it, Its not all holding rmb and w key. At least in HR trios you have to think a lot about positioning meaning tiles are they cleared, low/high ground. What classes they are running, who should we focus and how. IS this a good module to fight in for my team or should we move. IF i have a caster/ranger on the team do we have enough space for kiting, are we outranged and should someone flank. These are all things i think people should think of more and it makes my team win a lot of fights but it does require a lot of split second decsion making and cohesion. You can also block (not saying blocking is perfect) weapons if you know their patterns pretty easily also dodge a lot. This is all examples of skill expression in the game and theres more i just cba typing more shit out.

I disagree, youre in legit nothing. It takes 2 seconds to get gear in HR even if youre ratting solo. Also gear is more available then ever before. Ive killed hundreds of teams in HR when i was in makeshift blues and they were in rolled legos. Its not as big as you would think, the rolls as they currently are make the gear disparity so much worse. To clarify I think DMG rolls should only be on weps and maybe jewelry and HP defensive stats should only be on armor and shields. I think the stat modifiers between gear is a big deal cuz the change from from blue to purples is a 9-10 stat difference and I think the fact the all stats is so good is kind of a indicator the stats are a big deal.

Reallly really, this is pretty standard course for EARLY ACCESS games. And extraction games tend to have a hardcore emotionally immature core player base anyway. So this is all standard for the course.

I advise you ignore the noise, and enjoy the game as much as you can. Personally I think the devs have a strong chance of clutching this, but they clearly overreact too much to noise and when they do that they act too quickly and cause additional pain. All details aside, they do keep doing this unfortunately

Game dev is a skill anyone can learn, requires no degree or education to pursue, and can typically work remote from any place with internet access.
