I definitely get where you're coming from with the idea for monetization. Smaller devs have to balance funding and public appeal, tho. It's very easy for people to say 'why the hell would I pay for a demo?' and they're just as valid on that point as the devs saying, "We'd like money to improve the demo to the full game."

Make damage based on weapont ypes like peircing slashing blunt and make it more or less effective against different armors. Also more damage over time and not instant damage base don momentum of attacks so teeny weeny pokes dont do full damage

As a cleric main, I also want to say that I am adamant spellpower does increase your healing.
But I never really looked at the numbers.

also a little nit pick of mine, does debuff and buff duration affect buffs on you, or buffs from spells you cast on teammates
Like casting ignite on a warrior, the damage of ignite depends on their spell power rather than the wizards power.
The cleric ability "Protection from Evil" suggests it is stuff on you.
Not the debuffs you dish out.

I was browsing suggestions and it looks like suggestions for some sort of matchmaking are more often downvoted. Anyone have any argumentation as to why the game shouldn't attempt to put players of similar skill together in the same matches?
Because skill isn't the only factor. Gear plays a major role in the outcome of a fight.
How do you factor that into matchmaking along with skill?
What happens when you lose all your gear and your rating is high?
Fair point, I assume you start losing a lot and your raiting goes down, but that seems lame.
However, even suggestions saying match based on gear were getting downvoted a lot.
Because why would you take your time to collect and risk gear if it is going to be even anyway?

I think the answer to that is so that you can defeat other players of your level of capability. The same reason adults don't compete against children in activities.

That's a positive thing, even people at lower tier gear should be able to have a fun, "fairish" experience.

Lower tier gear people should try to run and hide more, from my experience, the lower tier gear people (who usually also are less good at the game) just charge at everyone

It depends how a skill or power estimationg system could be implmented. There are four factors right now: Player skill, gear power, character level, and party size.
Finding a way balance all those things is the tricky part.
But also, I think you should be able to use your advantages you worked for.

This suggestion will ruin the market and make every lobby be overly geared over time. It makes it way to easy to just buy gear and ruins the trading experience with bartering etc...

An auction house would make more powerful gear more valuable I think.
You can play the game without bartering. It is the time and difficulty getting good gear that makes it valuable. If you can just buy it overtime it becomes worthless like in tarkov

There isn't an insurance system like in Tarkov.
If your stuff isn't looted, it is actually gone.

What I mean is you can't take the loot of 15 people in your lobby.
If you have ever played tarkov you know that a market like that simply makes the gameplay loot buy gear go in over and over. We don't want that. How it is now makes getting gear more difficult and random increasing variety of builds and allowing for less meta geared lobbies
its very buggy, hits don't render some of the time and you dont do damage to the enemy, crossbows sometimes when you shoot it doest shoot the bolt and you have to shot the crossbow again, blocking is super buggy and most of the time it goes through ur block and does full damage, you get one tap from a bow with full metal armor
If only one group gets out, a lot of gear is lost.
You can take like at least 3-6 people's weapons

Seasons! Like in Diablo or Path of Exile. All gear gets transferred to "standard" at the end. Each season brings new mobs and special types of gear

I think having only 1-2 backup gears is the optimal amount so people actually sell good loot they get from runs.

Alright, here's the compromise. We have some sort of mmr, but every wipe (couple of months) the mmrs get wiped as well, so the skilled players get to stomp on the casuals for the first few days, but at least at that point their gear is not also out of control.

@spare pine I’m not for queue dilution I don’t think there needs to be a duo queue for both maps. Tarkov created that problem and now has 24 queues for each map, mode, etc.
Also gear risk is just part of the game, the starter kits are fine.
You can kill people up to blues with just starter gear.

35 damage is reasonable, 4.5 meter range, need to target the enemy with your crosshair, leaves you defenceless (you can't move) and is your only offensive spell or magic damage.
Also spell fails and goes on cooldown if you walk out of range.

I've heard requests for pve modes. The main issue is just that it could flood the market? Like unless those items were flagged PVE only, which seems like an additional step.

How much chopping down of the playerbase is reasonable? Remember the game will likely be B2P so alot of the F2P folks who play it now wont be around. I still think the game will do fine pop wise but not if you continue to hack away at the population by segregating them

PVE/PVP Character creation. This would allow nonhardcore people to come into the game more easily. Creating different chats and different trade channels for their respected character PVE/PVP choice. This would limit the market against those who would try to flood markets with tons of items from other Character selections. A lot of people don't have the time to "No-Life" games but still want something like this to casually play. If PVE selection they can do the 4man squads (that has already been spoken about by devs) and this could be a way to introduce this. Bosses in deeper levels are tougher anyways and people wipe already on those bosses without the correct playstyle and lose tons of great gear to them so its not like it would add an "easy" mode. This PVE character selection would only allow them to join PVE raids whether its solo or even up to the 4 while still keeping the other maps with PVP running and not interfering with the PVE characters. This could potentially bring in a lot of casual gamers into this new game!

I think it's so you can't just boost a character with your 'Main' but really all you need is a friend to act as the in-between. I think having an unshared stash is an outdated thing.

The difficulty curve of starting in hard instead of normal, stacking with the fact that you can spawn in a room with enemies/get little to no breathing room at the start is not for me
this is by no means the final iteration either, last playtest they had everyone starting in their own little spawn room attached at the edges of the map

afaik only a couple spawn have immediate enemies on you, and they have a healing shrine right next to them
I think once you learn the enemies you will see that the only thing dangerous are the champions, and even they can be cheesed.
And other players, they are also very dangerous.
yeah anything with elevation can cheese the boss mobs
just crouch below the wraith with a spear on some stairs and it's the easiest kill you'll get
The thing that "feels off" about this game i think is the inverted difficulty curve. The game gets easier the more you progress in it, instead of having a rising difficulty like other games.

Hard agree with this. Not all players enjoy PvP. Not all players enjoy only PvE. Personally, I have a ton of fun just running through and exploring thee maps with friends and killing some of the more difficult encounters. But having that experience abruptly ended by a random Barbarian cleaving my skull or an Archer headshotting me out of nowhere honestly ruins the experience (for me) most of the time. Game has an extraordinary amount of potential for both PvPers and PvEers. Let the PvPers hunt each other down and sharpen each other's skills. Let the PvEers explore, take on bosses, and play casually. Forced PvP isn't enjoyable for everyone.

You can instanly take off armor like pants and plate to run faster.
just go into the inventory and right click.
It is pretty funny because due to how the curser spawns in menu, the next best item they will take off is always pants.
Leading to people following you or running away look like they drop their pants and run away.
This could just be me but if I have to take off my pants to survive an encounter with a ranger (wether that be to have enough speed to kill him or to run away) I'm not gonna like fighting ranger

If the ranger is running away, you are not surviving them, you are running them down.

Teaming is not forbidden.
If anything, adding a voip to the game shows that teaming is something the devs are ok with.
After all they gave tools to make it easier.

Rogue for example has a pickpocket skill. Team with them in solo and they could be robbing you blind whenever you are interacting with a door, exit etc.

You also have the footsteps perk to see steps, which is god tier for finding invisible rogues.

I disagree, current pve is pretty trivial once you learn the mechanics of the game
All you really need is one successful run and you can buy weapons to help you clear mobs faster.
At the start of each wipe I usually buy a ton of white maces and grey/white spellbooks.
the explanation for current difficulty was we were starting on B2 of the dungeon, and that B1 would be introduced later
they didn't say the difficulty would be adjusted that B1 is basically B2 levels of hard

Getting hit feels a bit too punishing, I get that it's easy to dodge and weave, but as a human ima make mistakes, just don't want those mistakes to take half my health bar
To be honest B2 pve is really doable.
You will take an l three or four times to normal enemies, and maybe three or four times to champions.
And then it will be mainly mis-kiting and being pushed by the border/other players when you die to pve.
If you are doing solo just be friendly to people to get the best pvp feeling when they attack you and you demolish them lol just did a game where I literally saved a dude and gave him a good bandy and he tried to kill me

Karma is a thing where you can vote for your mates being good or bad. It will eventually make their name red or blue in the lobby, telling others that they are rude or perhaps even team killers.
Whereas blue mates are team players.
It is of no concern in solo for example.

@onyx timber i mean... in solos u shouldnt be having to fight 2 ppl at at time but .. yeah,.. i was thinking maybe they could put a debuff.. so after like 1minute of being near another person in super close proximity both your dmg gets reduced to 1 so you cant team effectively.. then again ive seen fights take over 1 minute so i really dunno any thoughts/ideas on how to keep people from teaming up in solos...??

There's also the risk that the incredibly judgmental gaming community could go insane over some minor things they 'd need to sort out first. It seems they're taking their time because they want it to be right. Though, I bet we will get early access within a couple of months. Totally guessing here. They did say they want to have the bard out when they release it so maybe there will be one more playtest?

I hope rogue caltrops and smoke bomb get reworked. Right now they feel so weak and minor utility that I cant imagine using them instead of Hide and one of the damaged skills

Well the feedback could still help. They could do things like add crystalline areas and other visual changes to it, it did feel a little small too. Not sure if anyone else has had the problem but I've had naked players just run around the map shortly after spawn bringing their horde of enemies to a nother players spawn location (mainly an issue as the play test has gone on in length) . Team players also take a risk of being betrayed too so there is that if it makes you feel even slightly better about it.

Hello everyone, gonna add here something most likely said elsewhere but hope to get wider view.
PvE mode, solo teams in dungons. Get used to old dungons or even try new ones without risk of getting wrecked by higher geared players.
plus gives a group of people that good ol dnd feel of just dungon diving.
Can be connected to normal pvp characters or even seprate , no issue for ether really to insure people don't abuse the system or maybe help new players gain some gear before truly going into the real pvp stuff.
