In the newest playtest, I had this unerring feeling that less portals spawned in general. That or the algorithm for their spawns felt wildly different. They have changed the portal spawnrate/density in previous PTs. at one point, there were no group portals until the final circle... I think that was tried for half of PT3? It mighta been PT2.

Also, different maps have different portal algorithms. Gobby Caves are very different than crypts, which seem different than the ruins.

Is the arrows mechanism going to stay? It feels so inconvenient but I do agree it makes the class a lot more balanced when fighting bosses.
perhaps a better option would be to add mechanisms to elite enemies to deflect arrows/counter when dealt enough arrow damage.

Is double jump doesn't seem to fit into the game as it currently feels when everything else is clunky/semi-realistic. Is there a plan to balance this with cooldowns or having the initial momentum not be reset when double jumping to prevent full 180 turns midair

Not just bosses though - It effectively ended arrow spam in PvP as well. I don't think anyone tried to shoot me through the door view slots either in PT5, and I had been dropped at least once by a headshot through the door in each previous playtest

P.S. I don't know what part of a fireball or lightning bolt on demand is realistic per se... this is a fantasy PvPvE extraction based looter. Fantasy being pretty key there 😉

I definitely think some sort of limitations need to be put on doublejump so it can't just be spammed though.

Sometimes you gotta ride the edge and go back outside the zone to get to a portal if it closed up before you swung around. It can spawn on the far size of the map from you - just so long as it's not in the swarm yet

Early access was announced to be late april/may. But lawsuit kinda ruined that and therefor it is delayed. Personally I believe they want early access on steam because of the exposure they get there rather than their own client. And this might take a while with the ongoing lawsuits.

The lawsuit won't be over for 6-12 months; EA isn't waiting that long. If anything I'd guess the delay IS cause they need to figure out distribution since the Steam delisting. If ironmace complied with it, shut it all down, and didn't do PT5, there would be no lawsuit at all. That's what a C&D is. "Stop doing X or we sue".
IM chose to do PT5 anyway. Shows they think they can either win the case by merit, or are just incredibly ballsy to do it anyway.
That in mind, EA will probably be the same. Except this time they make money from it instead of burning money hosting a free playtest.

And yes. The c&d applies to the whole of the game. Nexon wanted it gone and gave them an opportunity to do so.

It's not faster attacks, but a longer attack chain. It only works if you weave between them, once you've reached the end of one attack chain the total chain is complete. Honestly I think this is slept on

The better idea is to give more possibilities to spend the money: houses with some benefits (like you have in tibia), guilds, outfits (idk change the pants colour, hairstyle of your character, some scars on face and tattoes)

The time i have put in game just got wasted unless i have collected full gear and used it before wipe for a little moment of fun. everything i've collected dissapear. Idk after 2-3 wipes i would probably stop playing. Why shouldn't it be also collectible game? I think there are many better solutions to the problem of gold inflation in game.

so i can understand that you may have time and want to collect but for a gross majority of players who have a small attention span or work. games should have equal opportunity to play at a high level portion of the game. I think wipes should be max of 1 month unless they change the system of legendary and unique items. I was able to get legendary and unique items within a week in the playtests aswell as make multiple seperate acc's. rust has servers that are 2 weeks and they make massive structures and get to endgame items. tarkovs wipes happen what seem to be once or twice a year. leading to a very repetative endgame gear sets which drown the small players who don't have 50 hours to become competitive. to have a game that never wipes would need a huge rehaul of the simplest systems. making matchmaking take longer as well as massive amounts of rework for common to legendary gear with major continuity problems. imo what makes DaD good is the community of silly ideas in a intense game where you can die and still feel like you made progress. I want as many people to play the game and having someone play the game for an entire year compared to someone who played for 2days trying to compete in a game that doesnt wipe sounds upseting. imo if i was the guy who only played 2 days trying to battle the massive curve of tryhards having an indefinite amount of time who will never need to experience low level gameplay sounds terrible.

You are right, the wipe is the easiest way to balance the game and make it more open for new players, no doubt. The question is, what's the point of playing the game if you gonna loose all the progress anyway, except the fun for like 2 seasons? And after the wipe, i can bet that the most sweating players will be full gear in 1-2 days while regular players need like a week, so you will have one day of easier dungs in a month as a casual. Not mention the fact that stash is small so you can't fit in it more than 4 sets anyway.

However i'm more talking about the clima of the game. DaD has potential to be something more than just ,,kill mobs/players in dungeon simulator,, and you got bored after 2 weeks. If they provide some lore, quest items, collectible items and easter eggs which you can flex with, and get achievments from collecting them that would be a good start and wipe doesn't play well with this stuff. I also agree that people that play more and have played before will have a better jumpstart. I agree on that which i said one or two messages later. Wipe is good for balance in lobby, new players etc. If we look at this game as on something you play 1-3 months, get bored cuz you loose anything anyway and forget about it ye, its reasonable.

My point is to search for some other solutions for problem of items price inflation and all that stuff, different than just regularly wiping everything what players collected as it kills a bit the RPG side of the game. You can be very good, wield good gear and all you get is wipe which can be boring after couple of seasons. I like the idea of the ,,looting dungeons,, game where your wealth and arsenal grows in time. Starting from the poor adventurer you become an experienced elite with full stash and a lot of gold. I would love to see something like personal ,,house,, where you can atleast put some very rare items you have collected on walls (even if they can't be used in runs after this) and other players can check your profile and see it. That would make the game a little bit more rewarding for the players that were in game for long time. That's my little idea, let ppl save some items as decoration or exchange them on some cosmetics.

But to be completely honest there are a lot of ppl that gonna be full gear one day after the wipe anyway. Also the stash size let you keep only 3-4 sets and some supply items.

Few things,

1. I'm not sure if the injunction (preliminary order that would stop release of EA) would only stop IM from releasing early access or from publishing anything. It would depend on what kind of harm Nexon was arguing and what the judge was willing to buy from that argument. Playtests would be much more likely to survive an injunction than the early access (sales being the big difference).
2. Theoretically yes. There's nothing stopping them from releasing anything at any time, until an injunction is signed and ordered by the judge.
3. For an injunction? I'm not sure. Maybe a few weeks - that's a question very specific to jurisdiction and judge.

A victory for IM there would be the judge dismissing the motion for an injunction, but that doesn't really change anything for IM. It's a preliminary matter - and theoretically IM could publish EA with their own launcher right now and not face immediate legal repercussion. The injunction is just a blockade Nexon can place in IM's way.

There won’t be a pve mode for sure. Atleast not at the beginning. Like u said they can’t implement a completely new server for pve‘s only. The costs for servers are way too high and the input to have a running system with pve characters is too high too. Just remember the playtest, there was a lot of stuff need to be done and fixed why should they implement a full new „meta“ of servers with a no PvP? It just makes 0 sense. Maybe in future days when everything is running smooth starting outside, getting down and going to infernal with enough portals at every stage and keep the game balanced then they can think about a pve cluster.

As long as they don't lose to an extreme amount there is a high likelyhood like every other case this will come to a settlement and IM will have to pay a certain amount and then Nexon will drop everything. Unless IM is 100% sure they are not in the wrong if that is the case then this could last several years depending on how long Nexon wants to try and drag this out. If the case gets thrown out with prejudice in America then it could be back up on steam within a few days after that which I think that is determined on July 14th but nexon will try and appeal that (most likely at least)

because you may also try to cooperate but there is also the possibility that they may just try to betray you
also in the goblin dungeons there are really very few portals, it may end in betrayal most of time

only thing you are missing outon is barbuta and that has 12% HS reduction, so you'd only use it if you want more magic resistance, but if you're worrier about headshots then hounskull and its 20% HS reduction is banger
