I can't get into the game due to a fullscreen scaling issue. The developer title screen shows up appropriately, but then it seems the game itself is scaled too large for my display. I have tried the following: changing my resolution, refresh rate, trying all compatibility settings (high DPI scaling, etc.), forcing windowed mode through properties. I also tried rebooting my system.

For reference I use a 4K display at 120Hz. System is an i7-12700K / 3070-Ti, 64 GB DDR5.

I suggest renaming the category, as "Art Gallery" suggests artwork (yes, art can be all types of media, but the word isn't frequently used as that). The sole channel suggests that any media goes, so having that category name is a bit unclear. Or at least was to me at first glance.

Unless you want to repeat the channel name, perhaps "Creative Corner" or something would fit.

I've seen this floated in the Tester chat, but I think testers would appreciate if we could hold onto our Technician role as thanks for testing the game during alpha. I've also seen it suggested that the role get renamed to 'Sandleaf Lovers' for comedic reasons, and I'm all for that given the importance of Sandleaf in the alpha version of the game.

I am not sure if it's a proper idea, considering the test access was given at random.
At best, I think the roles should be kept by testers who made considerable and positive contributions and feedback in the relevant channels (i.e. fulfilled their tasks dutifully).

Not to mention, there are cases of users hoarding multiple accounts and reselling them, preventing many people from joining the test and locking out potentially valuable feedback, and I don't think such behaviour should be rewarded.

I wouldn't mind as long as this same role would be given to EVERYONE that took part in any of the testing phases. That includes alpha, closed beta or open beta if such is planned.
This way, everyone who really cared about giving feedback and testing the game wouldn't feel left out just because they lost the gamble or some abuser took their slot. And no different roles such as "Endfield technician", "Endfield Beta tester" etc..

Just give everyone one role and don't make alpha testers unique from beta testers just because they tested the game earlier as it wasn't under any NDA so there's a lot more people that gave out feedback just by watching CCs/friends even if they didn't take part in the test itself.
Among those can be future beta testers that weren't lucky enough or played fair using one account to get into alpha and lost.

That's, if you do plan on keeping the role permanently and running a beta test at all.

I just realized that if you keep everything to one role then the test channels you make will be available to alpha testers as well so my entire essay makes no sense.

It started as a joke, but over the days, we had a lot of fun discussing the test. We then had the idea to ask if we could have a memento of it, given that the channel is likely to get archived at some point. (The "Sandleaf Lovers" Shinoda mentioned is part of an ongoing joke related to a plant.) It wasn't meant to spur discussion; we just thought it would be fun.

The points raised (regarding account hoarding, for example) make sense, but personally (probably a biased opinion, but let me go on), I don't really see any harm in it.
In the end, the idea for the role emerged to remind the people who had discussed and enjoyed each other's company in the channels over the past few days of all the shenanigans.

With due respect to the staff behind Arknights: Endfield Official, I want you to consider the other members here who were waiting for the game's technical test since the day of the first announcement. It isn't fair when some of the people who got in either:

• Were content creators, so they had higher priority.
• Spammed dupe accounts and got in.
• Bought e-mails with tester access (There were at least 5 keys being offered on this very server).

I would suggest to either give all of the members who waited in anticipation since, for example, before the October 2023 Announcement a special role to balance things out, or not to give any.

I usually don't get involved with this kind of stuff, but it is clear this decision has made a lot of people upset and could be a source of friction within this community, which would have very negative impact in the long run.

I'd say yes and no to this above point.

While I can admit it's likely my status as a content creator that I got in, anyone else that got in also has (you would hope) the same responsibility to help provide feedback and help improve the game as much as we can. Even if our feedback may not necessarily have added much compared to the previous Technical test, it is still a role that was played by a good number of the testers. Feedback helps both in variety of points to improve, but also the volume of certain aspects that MUST be improved.

This feedback could be pivotal to help them know where their game needs improvement and what else needs to changed. I believe that responsibility alone should warrant this role. Now granted, those that did nothing to aid in the test period...definitely would not satisfy this position and I can understand revoking that. The same could be said for those that bought their way in.

But for those that contributed to the testing process, they've done something that will help them to create a better game for everyone here to enjoy on release. In that regard, some acknowledgement should be given to those that sacrificed their time to do this for them than simply just play the game.

I'm a software engineer by trade, testers for our code are invaluable regardless of whether they are internal or our end-users.

I was trying to remain neutral in this since I was the one who made the suggestion, but I'd like to say something as parts of this statement (while well-intentioned) rub me the wrong way.

From what we know, the test had at least 600 testers and at most around 1000. Of these, it's true that some were content creators and that others had unscrupulously gained access to the test. However, this fails to acknowledge that:

1. The number of 'unscrupulous testers' was extremely low. It's no better than collective punishment when part of your argument is to deny a majority of legitimate testers a role because a minority gained access unfairly.
   2. Content creators, despite their privilege, can be just as dedicated to providing feedback and engaging with the game as anyone else. Several individuals who I know are content creators were active during the test and gave good feedback, so why should their priority matter? They still tested the game, their priority in entry doesn't change that.
2. The overwhelming majority of testers gained entry legitimately, performed heavy internal discourse on the game, and gave extensive feedback. I understand that non-testers have to take that with a grain of salt since they can only hear it secondhand, but I promise you that I fully believe it to be true.

For these reasons, I personally believe that the arguments I've seen against testers maintaining a legacy role are unfounded and aim to deprive the majority over concerns regarding the minority. I also find it silly that there's this much controversy over a Discord role to begin with, nor do I believe its inclusion would have a 'very negative impact' on the community in the long term. In all likelihood non-testers would forget about it in a week, while testers would be able to look back on it years later and feel nostalgic on their efforts.

I humbly ask that you let the majority of testers be rewarded; regardless of the minority.

I think it would be just as unfair to the testers, who all put in a ton of work. We all provided valuable feedback, found and reported bugs, gave the devs a ton of analytics, filled out 5 extensive surveys... I could go on and on. It was a random selection, we had the same equal chance as anyone else. Regarding content creators, they themselves are in the minority considering the tech test had 600-1000 people. That, and having content creators themselves test the game/show the game off is also of benefit to everyone; consider that without content creators, you would not have even been able to see any of the game content at all. I’m following this “topic” for some time, tbh I have enough of this farse and I need to add my own 3 cents to it.
QA is a normal job, people get paid for it and it follows strict protocols, those are not some surveys filled by random collective of people. If u want be a “tester” go work in QA and I guarantee you, basic QA testers are on the bottom of the food chain and are never recognised.
Man people say, “how much we discussed it. How many people participated. How may done their job. How valuable we are.”. Data people, data. If you want to toss so lofty arguments give me numerical data. How many surveys were done, how many people participated in them and not just played game on early access, how many individual people got access. You can say how big you are as much as you want, but without the “meat”, you are like a balloon. Big outside, but only hot air inside.
Content creators were always a holy cows with special privileges so why anyone should be bothered by them, it’s how current world works and we cant do anything with it. Also as far as I know content creators had their own invite pool.
Main topic of that entire circus, “legacy roles”, for me it’s very simple. Access was given away by random, there was no tests or checking qualifications. So the fact alone that you were given the access should be a reward in its self. It’s like giving someone additional rewards because he won on lottery and took the prise. **Simply saying, you are entitled to anything, be happy that you received access at all. **
The case of apply spamming/ account selling is a septic tank on its own and I don’t even want to touch this topic. Only thing I will say is that I hope HG will put some countermeasures against something like that in the future if there will be more tests.
So yea, those are my 3 cents. If you really want to be those special snowflakes with different colours go ahead. Just know that many people will consider you as clowns for fighting for something so stupid and insignificant, especially when they find out how fervently you were fighting over it.

In my opinion, there should be a single tester role for those who have tested the game, regardless of what phase they partook. We may get an alpha test, beta test, and the roles may become too many. And some may flaunt superiority with having more than one tester role.

I really wanted to address an issue related to the tester roles.
The reason you see people disappointed they didn't get in, is because they were dedicated. I myself was here since day 0, there for the announcement of a new Arknights title, there on the countdown and hype of the very first reveal. Since then I checked this server every so often for news, patiently awaiting for something. Regrettably, I only lurked in that time since the server cleanup and rarely engaged in this community. But I can imagine how it feels for those who did invest so much time in the Endfield community. The game was regularly on their minds, day to day, waiting.

Myself and others, especially those who contributed to the community, few of us got in after all that. I get that not everyone who gets in should have been a dedicated fan from the very beginning, especially because HG needs non fan opinions. But I'm a tad surprised that not more of us got in. Looking at the testers, the majority are new. At times, there were people completely clueless about the Arknights franchise, didn't even know or care about Endfield until the technical test was announced, those who sold their access and the ones who bought it, those who got in through multiple emails, and community contributors. Add it all together, it's a bit disappointing to us who were dedicated, and it's a feeling of being left out.

This all goes back to the roles, and why they're controversial. Many feel it wasn't entirely fair, therefore badging an unfair system.

You may disagree, but my goal is purely to shine light on the common perspective and feelings of disappointment among the dedicated of us who did not get in, and how it relates to the roles.

Think it's prob wise to make a early stance regarding user-created polls. Since well, it can be abused especially once this server gets much larger the closer it is to release. There were some discussions about it and cases of eggplant polls I seen in #endfield channel. Oh and it is intended for feedback channels to have this long of a slowmode? Since users might have to eventually reply for further feedback rergarding suggestions.

If you are trying to set up vc for beta testers to stream to the Endfielders, what you can do is set up a Stage Channel and then give access to the Beta testers. That was whoever comes in to watch is automatically muted and only the beta testers can stream and talk as host.

It will take at least one mod to get it set up but after that said mod is able to leave and trust that the Beta Tester can stream without interruptions. The watchers can also still have a side chat to talk amongst each other for no clutter in main channels.

Think the problem with stage channels, especially if you want multiple people who have beta access to stream, is that only 1 person is able to stream on that channel at any time even if there are multiple speakers (i.e. if a beta tester is streaming, other beta testers can't stream unless that guy's stream ended or so). You'd realistically be having 1 channel for each streamer if they decided to also stream for it to be able to work. Unless people are fine with that, having one person to stream for the entire stage channel, then stage channels would be fine especially since it does centralize all users and thus makes channel moderation easier for the mods.

Hence it's probably why @outer veldt went for the "Create a VC" option. Though I think that one as well probably needs additional setup and the fact there's multiple channels makes it already challenging for the mods to be able to moderate.

You can't just block words when they have other meanings and can be used in other contexts.

I can make a compromise for 'impregnate' or 'get pregnant' sure, but then what happens to off-topic when people talk about pregnancy in an innocent manner, do they just get filtered? A bot can't really tell differences and there's always backdoors to bypass it.

That's what moderators are for and if you can't ignore now just block the people you don't like talking weird, once the game releases you'll have your '84 family friendly atmosphere, mods are currently in a semi-strict state and they close eyes on a lot of stuff cuz it's still beta.

If you want proper lists I could surely compile it, but I also don't see much reason to at this point. It's unclear what will be acted upon. Now think about it, they have something that already been planned out, they don't want people to suggest anything yet, because they already got enough feedback from the last beta. Until then they want to focus on those feedback rather than people who haven't test the game. And while taking on those feedback they also improved some stuff on their side.

Now, if they put out an open feedback for the game, they will get unfiltered feedbacks and getting flooded with questionable feedbacks, making it harder to get a proper feedbacks.

Yup yup. I do understand that they are different in terms of development companies.
and i am not forcing them about it. But because they are in the same franchise. and they work together to have seemless or somewhat seemless gameplay and story connection between these two, they do need to work together as well for enabling its franchise available in social platforms. [well, this is a suggestion as this enables people to see other Discord users that you are into Arknights. more like a "free" marketing or advertistment overall]
