Wasnt implemented properly, i only found out you could do it because when i bent down to pick up a magazine i accidentally bumped the bolt catch with my head. So i tried slapping the bolt catch to see if i could slap it closed like Pavlov. But that didnt work so i just started waving the gun around till i eventually figured out i could just jam the buttstock into my shoulder to release the bolt

Is this game going to get all fucked up by people who go into raids and run around aimlessly and back down from every fight? I ran into that two times in one raid last night. One person was meandering along staring at the ground while holding a mac 10 in one hand and a Glock in the other, one up in the air the other down near his knee. That person was so stupid when I shot the character I felt bad. Like I was picking on a little kid or something. The other one peaked around a corner and peppered him and the doorway with a burst of five or so rounds and he yelled “nor sir, nope!” And ran to the extract. I’m afraid this is going to turn into something similar to the dead zone in the division where players don’t actually learn how to fight they learn how to avoid each other. That’s going to be a challenge for this genre.

I’ve been gaming a long time. I’m old. Especially with tactical shooters it’s has always been the case where developers make a really bad ass game then they have to dumb it down so idiots can play it. Once the idiots can play it the experience gets wonked off into annoying shit. I love the idea of a gunsmith option in our bunkers but we are already seeing clowns putting grips on the top pic rail and using the guns that way in raids. Can’t wait to see the pure fuckery they come up with if they are given a chance to douche the game up even more with even more options for customization. I wish it worked differently. Developers have to make a game everyone can play but everyone doesn’t have to be smart enough to play them correctly. So we wind up with some extremely unrealistic shit.

Call of duty modern warfare was the first one. Before that game tactical shooters were intense. You couldn’t eat half a mag in your chest and jump up and down and expect to win. Now that’s generally what people do. That sort of thing really started with Halo but in that game you were a modified super soldier fighting aliens so it seemed okay because maybe a super soldier of the future could jump five feet in the air and fire a 50 cal sniper rifle with pin point accuracy.

My experience was the original ghost recon games where their hair in the back of your neck stood up the first 40 multiplayer games you played. Followed by ghost recon 2 that was the same grittiness and intensity but it was third person. One of the very best shooters ever in my book. If you could immerse yourself in the game you didn’t fell like it was a fun game. You felt scared and payed attention to cover and watched for muzzle flashes from the bushes. Now people sprint around maps like baboons and dodge bullets. And in those older games recoil was a real thing. After about three rounds you needed to let up and let the muzzle settle or you wouldn’t hit shit. Now people dump mags while running and get 3 inch groupings. That’s what I mean about the games being dumbed down.

I think those were the mainstream titles of the time. I’m thinking 99-2002ish? I don’t remember what other games (counsel) were out there at the time. But I never remember anything like COD. And part of the issues with this game is that VR is still relatively new and older people hasn’t figured out the benefit of standing the fuck up and moving around a little while you waste countless hours shooting imaginary bullshit in a screen. They would rather sit down and relax. That shit isn’t good for us. That being that way is attracting a player base that is very young and squeaky. I’m not going to tell little kids they can’t play video games (that’s really who has the most fun with them) if I remember correctly back in the good old days one person could host a lobby and control who was in the lobby and with that had a little bit of influence in the type of shit players did. So if you got some real idiots you could kick them. Maybe that sort of thing needs to come back. Then people can control what type of bullshit they want to deal with. If you think it’s cool to hold a rifle upside down between your legs then cool. You can play with others who like that too. You can already play something with lobbies like you described on VR, it's pavlov

And regarding standing to play, there's lots of people playing this and other VR games while seated, some (like Tabor and itr) actually handle seated mode pretty well

Try the galil. Throw a cobra optic on it halfway up the pic rail, kirss grip, nomad suppressor and a flashlight. The optic is way up there so it doesn’t block your field of view, the rate of fire is slow enough that the thing doesn’t bounce all over fuck. And it’s all kinda cheap so if you loose it over and over again it will take a long time to go broke. See about armor pricing ammo too. And if you really want a tip….line the gun up in your hands so you can see the light in the optic then keep it just like that and lower it just enough that your character can move quickly. When you see someone who needs lead it takes spit second to put the reticle on the bad guy. Be a weapon handler not a weapon shooter. You do most of it with your body not your eyes. That’s even more true with pistols in the real world.

I love this game so much. Just got out of a match where I was betrayed by a man with a Makarov who failed to kill me, got ambushed by a 3 man and somehow killed them all, and struggled not to get hit even once because I only had 2 bars of health left. I made it out with 3 rifles, my trusty high tier armor that kept me alive, a bag full of goodies and my life. This game is so much fun but damn is it stressful in the moment.
