Yes but it’s not designed to penetrate as much armor as the 6.8x51. 6.8x51 can penetrate 10mm of armor and the 7.62x51 can penetrate only around 6 mm without ap. So realistically, there’s absolutely no world where the xm250 would do around the same damage as the fal. With ap, yes maybe without ap; completely underly unrealistic. 6.8x51 is literally designed to punch straight through level IV plates and 7.62x51 is made for DMRs not AR’s anymore. I’ve been researching this stuff for the last 2 hours and Ik that it’s unrealistic. All bc bigger round doesn’t exactly mean bigger damage. All because a 700. Nitro round can take down an elephant; doesn’t mean it works great against armor. I’m just saying how unrealistic this game is in how the damage works and I thought this game was meant to be pretty realistic? I get it’s a video game but still

Its also unrealistic when my Gun flys out of my hands and my Backpack spins out of Oblivion, but its a VR game on new Tech, its getting there slowly and every patch so far has improved gameplay in some aspect.
I get wanted a Realistic game, but it will be a fair few years, and a bit of tweaking. Put these concerns into a Bug Report for the team to look at. But also bear if mind, its probably a bit about Balance as well, as having 1 - 2 Weapon systems that are the absolute best, would make other weapon systems obsolete.

It really isn’t fine how it is right now, I can link a few clips of streams where armor RNG was stopping all rounds and causing players to die despite outplaying their enemy. It’s not a good system for a game like this

I watched the video, i honestly think better armor should be able to save you from terrible situations. Is it maybe overtuned? Yeah. But its better than the old meta where you died immediately even in collector.

I think it would be cool if the helmet starts ringing if it blocks a bullet tho. Thats just immersive

yes I agree it should save you, but it shouldnt let you completely ignore getting shot either, hence why you would be dazed from getting shot 6+ times (and i mentioned in the video it would only last for 3 seconds then fade off completely after 20). It would force you to take cover or back off rather than just tank all of the shots and take them out.

It doesn’t tho? Blunt damage is still a thing and still very effective. 1 mag with a Luty can kill a T6 point blank im pretty sure just from blunt damage.

Blunt damage with 9mm does ~6 damage per shot against a tier 6, with no chance to penetrate. Against tier 6 it does 10% damage and collector it does 7%.

Its very hard to find the line for balancing armor. If its not noticeably protecting you in fights then its useless, if its protecting everything its overpowered.

Armor right now is pretty close to balanced id say and i just dont want the devs to mess it up for another 2 weeks where the TTK is beyond atrocious

The wipe pre wipe events were perfect but this was the worst 1-3day whipe event we've had yet 1mil Tk and lower lvl traders were the only good parts of the actual whipe event and even those were extremely downgrade from the 6-10 mill and the lvll5 traders we got once and we are also missing the crazy loot spawn
