The ExoStock goal is to be there when you need and gone when you don't. It never leaves your hands, but is designed so that there is almost nothing in front of your hands. Both hands are free to loot and climb/move or whatever you need to do. Then just bring them together and it forms up to the gunstock again.

I have YouTube video. And here is another video below. There is no difference Butcher, Tomahawk or Smartstock. All stocks work well without any calibration btw. I recommend you to reset all settings and simply turn ON physical gunstock without touching the calibration at all. Maybe janky aim fix ON too. About pointing left, you may physically rotate the front magnetic platform to the right on the stock. Check the assembly guide for that. It's all physically adjustable on the stock.

The gunstocks calibration enabled feature tells the game to load any saved calibration files that have been created whenever a matching gun is picked up, so if you have not configured and it does nothing

Except, there is a bug when gunstock calibration is enabled that causes guns that do not have a foregrip to have problems

#

The problem is whenever your front hand is close enough to grab the front of the gun it will cause the gun to jump to that point, creating a differential offset that is different every time you do it

This causes you to have to fight multiple times to try to get an angle that points straight to work with your gunstock

#

It does not do this for guns that have a foregrip, where the position is completely reliable

This bug happened in a patch in October 2023 and I’ve had multiple discussions with the devs over

I started with Chameleon because that is what it made me think of... as it adapts on the fly to any gun/style you have going in game... but I wanted something shorter/quicker... so went to Mimic 😉

I think gunstocks are cool and help stabilizing aim, but I think the ingame settings and my steady hands have somewhat of the same effect, up to personal prefrence tbh :D

It's as heavy as I said it is. Less than 1kg. How heavy is 1kg depends on a person. But weight distribution is where it should be. Still don't get the cuts. This stocks was build with avoidability in mind. You won't feel it much in games. I did talked about it in the vid.

It comes in waves 🙂 but I was not talking about someone being envious of my design. People like what they like. And are willing to fight for their choices. You did not make a mistake by buying onestock. As long as it serves you, it was a good choice. I do not envy MrTass the "thrill" of explaining his design. I also do not envy wieldVR explaining his design. He will have unsatisfied customer like we all. Abd that's what I am not missing at all. I think wield has quite a bit more of explaining. They claim to be the best god damn gunstock in the world. Being a half cupper with ball joint. I've been there. It didn't work for me. Surely it is for you. This thing is pricey, no one likes to throw money away. As long as you good with it, it was worth it. Some basic Adam Smith economy 🙂

how come you got the nonmagnetic smartstock using, friend? forward hand is totally stable with it. yes, for sure without magnets helping with connection it's not so fast, but still intuitive and easy.

just getting back into this game after months off and noticing that i cannot get my ProTube to work with this game now.

The main issue appears to be that my front hand (right, since im left handed) is super pronated (it's rotation is quite wrong compared to how the controller is rotated around the vertical axis).

This makes the front hand (right in my case) not really line up with the gun stock.

Does anyone else have this issue, or know of any way to adjust the rotation ... not pitch ... of the hands in this game?

For what its worth - playing on a Quest 3 via SteamLink. I've tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game...

ok i deleted my saved folder and launched through oculus link and i think its better... it definitely looks a little different (different logo) when launghing in this mode, so clearly is using a different "runtime" (the whole openxr vs oculusvr thing confuses me)... 😓

but yea the wrist alignments seem ... better ... ill do some more testing this evening... would be a bummer to have to use oculus link going forward :/

oh and i should mention after deleting my saved folder, the first thing I did was try steamlink, and that did not fix.

so it appears (at least for me) that Quest 3 + SteamLink produces some very bad wrist angles (not pitch).

damn, turns out launching via Oculus Link does not fix the issue.. hand rotations are off so much that if I hold my gunstock straight out in front of me, the gun is at like a 30 percent angle from it...

ive tried Uninstalling + Deleting Saved folder, then re-installing, and ensuring that I launch via Oculus Link ... nothing, hands are still in some weird angle which I don't seem to have in any other games 😭 tried out contractors showdown and the new metro game, both are fine

I highly recommend saving up for a good gunstock rather than going for a cheaper option. SKOL has pretty decent magnetic ones at the $75-$90 ish price range iirc. Otherwise go for a magtube for its full adjustment

Just 3d printed the Quest 2 controller mounting rings from the Sanlaki design available on printables.com. But I'm going to use my Solidworks to redesign them into a top-mount with 45deg RK Angle Grip. Because AK Alpha. BTW I'm using the Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K V2, so this is a resin print.
