Whenever I use a rifle my wrist in game folds down and the c grip doesn’t give me a lot of room to adjust for hand placement so I’m having to reload awkwardly sometimes even smacking my other controller while reloading or using my other hand to reload because the stock or my other controller is in the way of placing another mag into the slot

deleted my save data multiple times, but will give the calibration another go today. It's not too bad right now, only issue is that the scopes don't align correctly, when shooting it's a good few inches down, like it's still using the iron sights.

Basically it probably, but not essentially, needs hand rotation pitch adjustments as it's shown in my discord from product description in tabor-calibration chat.

Same turning off virtual gunstock and physical gunstock. And turning on janky aim fix and hands smoothing.

Basically all issues with any of gunstocks appear if to turn on virtual gunstock, because it's starting to be virtually attached to one of your eyes, wich I recommend to always turn off. 👍

It's the one I started with but quickly upgraded. It's basically a expensive entry level gunstock. Will do the job. The way the magnets attach and detach is the main deal breaker for that stock. When attaching the mounts to the stick sometimes the magnet housing will catch on its casting and not fully attach 8/10 times this happens. Then detaching the mounts instead of more natural break away you have to angle your wrist down and and forward away from you.

The cgrip to me personally isn’t that good for this game. You can’t adjust your hand placement so you have to back up the gun in the rifle physical stock adjustment which puts the mag insert right were the left controller is (I’m left handed) so I’ll be smacking my stock and controller just to try to reload

Are you supposed to recalibrate for each gun that you use? Cause nearly every rifle categorized gun will be just as i described. Even some other guns too but the smgs line up better with the stock because the distance between both areas to grab isn’t that large of a gap

I have now 3 different Gunstocks, cheap mid value and high value... i can say. Without is for me the best way to play. The gunstock will give u stability but it costs u very very very much speed and you will not react that fast like a player without. In Ghosts of tabor u maybe have not quiet often situation in which u need to be that fast, but in other shooters yes. The Problem is when u start playing with gunstock u will miss it in other games and than u will loose like a chicken because of that slow reaction time

@digital hare most in the channel would disagree, but to each their own. There are a large variety of gunstock options, some work better for specific games, some work great for all. Tabor being a looter shooter... The classic MagTube can be a bit slower in response/change over, but still deadly accurate for those accustomed to it like @royal wagon

The newer mid split designs are certainly better tooled/geared for a looter/shooter speed and need and mitigate most of the speed concerns you have, but give far greater stability and consistent accuracy... Particularly once muscle memory sets in.

All things to all people, but as Rage advised, if all you plan to do is poo poo stocks, then likely not the channel to be in, but if you can have honest and open conversation and discussion of the benefits vs potential cons, then feel free. 😉

The best budget gunstock that I've used for Tabor so far is the Exostock. It's about $60 before shipping, but is thin and light enough that it doesn't get in the way of my looting or reaction times. It's a mid-split magnetic design that, after a bit of muscle memory, doesn't slow me down a bit. It helps me go from running to aiming down sights a lot quicker. Free handing does make things feel a bit faster, but I'm consistently slower to actually getting on target without a stock.

Anyone having issues with the physical gunstock option? Turn it on calibrate and all looks good but then randomly after a random period the gun just points at the floor.
Not possible to recalibrate as if the input to point down override any input angle in up and just bounces up and down again.

hey, i got a gunstock a while back and i still have an issue, i cant use weapon grips because it angles the gun higher than my calibrated.
and when i try to use the new weapons they dont work with the gunstock

Mine does this too on my Quest 3. One thing that has both fixed it and broke it for me was hitting both triggers on my controllers at the same time. It snaps the gunstock back into place or completely breaks it.( just turn your safety on first)

Yeah just random and def to do with the physical gun stock setting. Pistols not affected at all but all guns with a calibration option just aim down after a while and trying to recalibrate is impossible 😭.
Even tried not attached to stock to rule out occlusion but still the same. Turn off physical stock no issue back on and points down until game relaunch.

At least it's still better with our option on than no stock just ever so slightly off the sweet spots

Well maybe it's not the gunstock setting after all.... Mid raid using saiga no issue picked up a rifle and right hand suddenly aims at the ground. For saiga, rifle and in all menus.not gunstock settings enabled. The controller menu line was out of the bottle of the grips 🤔

Left hand seemed ok .(But have had on both at times).. Left raid (somehow survived) loaded into bunker and all normal again .. not a clue what's going on but game breaking when it happens 😭

Whenever you pick up a weapon it re-pulls the offsets for that weapon, which could be default offsets because you don’t have a calibration. You fix it by grabbing the gun you want to use again

Nope ... No matter what I picked up was all down including menus. Load out gun and 3 other I found after.
I did have all calibrated but reset them as get going haywire so all currently default.

When I tried to adjust calibration it was locked top down and refused to go up just resting down no matter what.

Need to do some more faffing to find out what triggers it

Magtube is what I use, downside is that it can take time to get familiar with it. But you can FULLY free your hands and it has a sling, makes looting easier and you are less likely to hit something while looting. People in here cry about it for some reason. Other options are the Exostock by MrTass , not too expensive, detaches in the middle (everything is behind the controllers so no issue looting. Next one is the Butcher/Tomahawk which I believe is stuck to right hand but is light and highly praised. Thats by SOKOLVR. Youve got the Utlistock by BrandonDrums, looks great but haven't seen any reviews. Check pinned messages for links to all of them.

SKOLVR has slings attachments, and hands are fully detachable from stock if needed, but that's adding immersion, lowering comfort. Even if it's 60$ sling. It's not cool feeling to turn around fast with something hanging on your neck, except only immersion.

For a game a great as Tabor, one thing that can improve any VR game is a deeper sense of immersion. VR itself being a kind of trick upon the mind, added aspects of haptic immersion greatly increase the sense of wonder and enjoyment when diving into the virtual world. One thing that could really add to the adrenaline one gets from a raid is a kickback if they have the accessories, or a vest for a sense of being hit from a certain direction. I appreciate your somewhat condescending and snide "not really" remark, but it's not for you if it's not for you. Those who have it would benefit from it, and seeing as many competing fps in VR have themselves implemented the technology, it's all the more reason. Have a great day!

Can't say much about Tomahawk, because all couple of users I know with a sling, using sling from their ProTube, or one pointed gun sling from Amazon. But the most advanced ProTube users use Magpul brand padded sling made for real firearms.

With Tomahawk weight I would recommend something less bulky like the belt for id card badge from Amazon. Head strap or crossbody strap for id card badge, necessary with adjustable length. Also a 3$ belt stainless steel clip for mobile phone to attach it a bit below of the folding button.

I was doing things like that too, as the image above. Inventing new methods to get it more stable, and easier to handle since we actually need free hands in this game. One of my brothers in arms got really tired of all the time it consumed and effort, so he ordered MagTubes to me and him self, and seriously I cant say I miss any of the duct-tape-engineering sessions after that. But imaging playing without a proper gunstock.. no way!

Gunstock calibration stull seems to break my wrists. Even after deleting game data. Really wish I could get this working. I followed rages guide and it worked for a little while.

@arctic epochHave you tried to calibrate the hand offset first before you start calibrating gunstock? If you touch hand pitch offset in general settings after doing the calibration it will totally ruin the calibration and you have to calibrate all over again. Try calibrate, then fail, then calibrate some more, until it feels allright. But if you get calibrated for a gun, lets say M4 Carbine, and you get it well, then change to a AK-74U without grid, it might be wrong with the hands.

I'll try that but I usually leave it at 0. It seems that after I calibrate when I let go of the gun with my front hand my wrist is broken and the gun points at the ground.

try the hand pitch offset, Ill find a youtube guide on the offset thing. Or find it your self you can do also, just search hand pitch offset, and ghosts of tabor. There are many good guides out there.

Trying that myself and seems to not break my wrist last night.
Only issue (which is expected) is if you calibrate with a grip ...I can never grip again with one attached (with our manual workaround on the stock while grabbing)

they have nothing to calibrate gun per gun, not type please, because when i calibrate assaut riffle, ak good calibrate but not sks, if i calibrate the sks in assault rifle, ak are bad ect

I found that it has more to do with the in game stock length not so much the calibration. The stock I have lets me easily lengths and shorten the stock section with a button press and slide.

For sks / AK use fully extended , for the M4 set it to 1/2 and lines up perfectly (with grips still need to sort that bit.

Then for SMG I fully collapsed it .... Works so much better for me and things line up better in game and IRL to how they should feel

probably the closest you can get to just using the controllers with a gunstock

or maybe a half stock but those dont really stabilise the aim as much

Hey looking for some advice from you chads! I got the tabor raider stock and honestly my experience with it has been awful with the quest 3 controllers. I find the “universal” mount system on the grips is very loose and has a tendency to force the controllers to wobble out of the calibrated position. Except for tape, is there a permanent solution to this issue?

My gunstock. This is half "GunFace" and half just 3d printed holders. The holders which comes with GunFace (controllers are below bars) is causing tracking problems sometimes. But with this setup, perfect aim and I have no problems to hit enemies on 200 meters range. No phys gun calibration needed, no virtual stock setting, but smoothness and funky aim on settings are turned ON.

Gunface looks like this, as mentioned, tracking is blocked a bit and sometimes it is annoying. Also the shoulder pad is just extra weight and that's why I removed it. But with the modifications I did, this is quite perfect for Tabor. Really easy to shoot and hit these 200m shots with normal 1x scopes.

Without buying different mounts after the fact. You can go with the quest 3 version of the Magtube or the Onestock quest version. Both of them you can use quest 2 or quest 3 controllers with.

Show me in messages and I will help for sure. I have pretty much experience in such things. Pointing of a gun up or down is fixed with hand rotation pitch, as far as I remember.

follow the guide, it tells you when to set hand pitch rotation and when to change the single hand rotation of the calibrated weapon

if you follow the guide step by step and read the whole thing you should be able to calibrate a gun to your gunstock in 5 seconds
