Hey! So I recently got a glistco gunstock and I’m having some real annoying issues with calibrating in Tabor. First off, any time I calibrate I am completely unable to use my grip button after. I have to restart the game. Secondly, after I confirm all my calibrations and it all looks perfect, when I restart to be able to pick up a gun again most of my guns are WAY off and I can’t use them at all

Make sure your hands are empty before starting calibration or you'll have to change scenes to get grip working again

Ordered one too, seems the way to use a glistco or protube type of gunstock, just based off watching people, is to not calibrate, grab your gun in-game without your grips being attached to the gun stock, once grabbed, attach your grips to the gun stock

I have been experiencing 2 main issues on my magtube (chrome) and I hope that someone could help me out
1.) Recently ive noticed that my tracking is really bad while using the magtube with my knuckles even tho the tracking is normal when not using it.
2.) I dont know if I am using the strap incorrectly but I experience a lot of neck pain while leaving the gun hanging of my body which is insanely inconvenient in a game like ghost of tabor.
Is anybody experiencing the same thing and if not, can someone help me out?

the neck pain is likely from your posture aiming, you are just noticing it when you are more upright

try putting some masking tape around the chrome, it is reflective enough it could possibly cause tracking issues

also if you have an index remove the front faceplate, it is also reflective

thats trivial. you pop your controllers off because they are magnetically attached, do your thing and then pop it back on. after a little bit of practice it doesnt slow you down at all and you dont even think about it

Almost destroy this shit.... every setting impossible to shoot as i calibrate, after hour i change little bit direction of joystics, rear little on left, front little on right and for me it's great for every weapon

Ok, putting a pin in some of these awesome stocks I see here,
I printed a standard Sanlaki stock for q2… and I’m having weird issues… my controllers don’t seem like they are loosing tracking… but actually turning off entirely…
Maybe something with set down sensitivity, controllers thinking I set them down?

Other thought was maybe, white on white is bad somehow?

What saq said, over the top rails are just occluding the IR sensors, combined with the weight, i'm guessing the batteries are getting loose on the springs like someone else in this thread and your tracking just poofs occasionally. I've experienced that as well.

with some guns it can be a bit iffy but you can work your way around it and yes the bottoms of the q2 controllers are the same as the q3 controllers. ive done a fit test and they fit perfectly on the q2. I cant find the file on thingiverse but i can dm you the stls if you want

How does the motion work?
With a top rail you kinda activate grip as your coming from the bottom,
With a bottom rail, do you attach to rail and then hope your close enough for grip zone?
Or do you grip from under rail and then snap on?

Hey, what do you guys recommend for a gun stock

Istock is good. It’s small. It allows you to only have one hand on the stock while you get loot or reload

Or at least narrowed down enough to fix

There’s a quest option to sense when you set controllers down, and or manually switch to hand tracker by “tapping controllers together” I figured, when on the stock they might be close enough to count… I turned that off and the Sanlaki stock worked perfect

I still designed my own bottom rail magnetic grip, it’s printing now… I’ll see how it fits when I wake up

The whole “different guns shoulder differently” feels like an unnecessary nuisance…
I get they are going for some realism, but it makes physical stocks pretty broken as a mechanic

Hell why stop there and why not make people have to actually zero their guns in the game…
(Please don’t, most people can’t zero a gun IRL, I lost faith in humanity as a instructor/ range officer )

I caliberated all my guns, which only seems to work for some of them. Others like the SKS don't align like the AK, M16, and M4. It seems to do it's own thing and there's no option to caliberate it. Same for the AK 74u

I got the magtube gunstock with all its bells and whistles. This also includes a second bracket, meaning that you effectively have two mounting points for your left hand which is really useful for switching between longest of rifle(AWM) and shortest of smg(p90). For some guns the left hand position is still somewhat inbetween, so did anyone of you guys try adding a third bracket to the magtube and has some experience to share?

Sounds to me like the quest is losing sight to the rear controller. This drift also happens without a gunstock if the controller is too close to your body and somewhat under the quest with a too sharp angle in respect to its cameras. I'd try setting up the stock with a more forward rear hand position (if thats possible)

It’s comfortable, you don’t crash your left controller into the gunstock during reload. It snaps to the from of the gunstock with a string magnet that’s not too strong where it’s too sticky to remove. I find it to be just perfect

cheap if you make it yourself. three 12in aluminium rods are like $14 on amazon. then you just need to design/make your own joints or buy them from other places (steel ones are expensive but look them up, their for something with boats). from there making controller cups are quite easy, just got my quest 3 yesterday and finished my controller cups last night. the gunstock itself needs an overhaul but its been a trooper for atleast 5 years without anything breaking

one of the things im trying to do is make a simple open source protube style stock. if you have a printer you just buy the aluminium rods fron amazon and print the joints and stock pieces. otherwise you can order the joints and stock pieces cheaply and adapters to use protube accessories like their controller cups and stock

very little (then again many people in this world are amazingly lazy). buy rods, attach rods to joints (maybe 2 minutes), attach controller cups to rods, attach stock to rod. if you have all the pieces its no different than assembling the pro tube so just a few minutes of total work that a kid can do. bit more if your printing the parts but thats mostly waiting

honestly the only thing i did to really get things working decently was move the stocks back nearly as far back as they would go in the calibration. had to really adjust the height a ton to get the sks to line up which broke the angles of all the other rifles

I have the magtube gunstock and got it to work with (almost) every gun after calibration, including all straight grips and optics combos (only exceptions are the BAR, PPSH and SKS). Only thing to adjust is the cheekrest ( you need the new adjustable cheekrest). For short guns (smg) there is a second mount point for the left hand, even p90 works easily. If you go in naked or only with a sidearm, just keep the cheekrest in the lowest position, you can aim down sights with every gun you find that way.

I don't know if you already bought a gunstock, but one consideration is the ability to not only quickly switch off of the stock for utilities/pistol, but the ability to get back on thee stock quickly. You also need to be aware that not all weapons line up with the stocks. For mine, when an m4 iron sight aligns, an ak iron sight is too low

So you want the ability to quickly adjust either your forward grip or the cheek rest

For your calibration issues, think about it as two separate vector graphs. Calibration only affects the rear grip. So as you decrease elevation, the rifle skews up no matter where your hand is. However, if you pull the rifle closer to your body the angle is lessened because the distance between the grip point and the adjustment point increases, so the angle has to decreasee

@royal wagon aight follow up question, gun stock is working well now thanks to you. I no have an issue with rotational axis offset. no matter what i do with it, my hands off set by about 90 degrees when im holding nothing and when im holding a pistol

both hands self correct when holding any two handed weapon but they snap back to pointing straight down as soon as i release the weapon

two handing a pistol doesnt solve the issue for it. adjusting rotational axis slider does nothing to fix the issue either

To me it feels like a lot of weapons react differently to my gunstock. Like every weapon has its own angle. This is holding me back form buying expensive gunstock.

When a SCAR or M4 feels fine, then an SKS might be terrible

When using an SKS i cant set the stoch to my shoulder. Have to strecht both arms in front of me like holding a pistol lol

that is correct, every weapon has its own angle, though many of them are quite similar. a good stock can let you rapidly adjust to different ones if you are doing something like cycling through many guns in one raid

Looking for a $5 DIY version where I can easily control the angle of the first controller.

My current design has half of the second controller grip open. Easier to reload, and put it back in the grip.

Iam thinking to make a cut here. So I would be able to adjust the angle of the first controller. Then a system where I can put something in the freshly cut hole to keep it in that angle.
Only problem is the Controller is to close to the actual stock. I have to raise the height first, else my hand won't fit on a smaller angle

Yeah I noticed SKS does not work for my gunstock. Sort of have to rest the shoulder piece on my forehead to aim lol

my sks only works if i lower my cheekrest all the way down

and after doing that i usually have trouble finding my original cheekrest position

so usually i just turn on virtual stock or point fire the son of a gun

Honestly my gunstock works great for all my guns after calibration i do have to raise the stock abit higher but aside from sliding my back controller i dont really have any issues, as for pistols i have a strap in my gunstock so i just drop it and grab my side arm

Just do what ever feels comfortable. I change it for every gun I use

Hold the gun with your primary and and adjust the position of your offhand up and down and slide it till it lines up where you grab the gun

Yea I can't get it to work either with mine. I just leave my front hand out of the stock and hold on to the front of it. A little awkward though and sometimes loses tracking a bit. I've mostly been avoiding the sks until they fix it.

usually what i do in that case is first grip with the trigger hand and mount that hand in the stock, then ingame hold the gun and after that i put the offhand on the stock and then it centers fine

also make sure you are using the right handed clamp for the right handed controller

Niche question, but has anybody got tips on making the 3Daptive ModusR gunstock work with Tabor on Quest 3? When I put the stock to my cheek and try to hold the weapon in place, the sight seems to move around

sight moving around is from tracking limitations on the quest, do you have your front hand below your rear?

the quest has some deadzones you have to be careful of when ADSing

you have to be careful about how close you get your rear controller to your face, and how much lower your front controller is from your rear as that will obstruct visiion of the front controller

additionally if you have something wiht a tube above the controller rings blocking them you are going to compound the quests tracking limitations

it is highly recommended to not purchase a stock with the tube above the controller rings for the quest

So I was thinking. If those saddle T snap are not real tight: you might use a screw to tighten them on the closest side to you, so you can pull up the farthest side a bit to control the controller angle. Sort of pull them up a but, and have mechanics to keep them in place when angle is higher

Why not use a pvc, or rolled up piece of carton? Then at least you start with a straight and stable foundation.

If anyone plans on buying a stock do not purchase from olenvr. I paid over 120$ for my stock. Waited 3 weeks for fulfillment. They shipped it and told me it was coming with quest 3 mounts. It came with quest 2 mounts after the expected delivery date not quest 3 and I was not reimbursed for the express shipping I paid for but did not receive. I have emailed the company at least 7 times in the past week and a half regarding the mounts and their only response was that they would be shipping the quest 3 mounts and that they're sorry that their shipment guy didn't see a wait to fulfill notice so that's why I didn't get my q3 mounts. I will not be paying for extra mounts when I was promised them at delivery as well as expedited shipping. DO NOT BUY from olen vr. They have a 2 week fulfillment tike that happens before they can ship your stick because they don't print extra parts they get your order then print it 2 weeks later. Buy somewhere else.

Version 1. Second is in the making. 2 ball joints ta the magnet cups allow for very accurate customization. For the grips I used 2 component silicone, got a nice fit and glued it on, they feel like second skin now.

In this first try the ball joints where to small so they don't stay snuck... that's why they are fixed with tape.
