id always say protube, their warranty support is lightning fast since the day bourin opened the shop. 5 days or less from the moment i smashed my cup off the stock chipping it to my door from france no questions asked completely free. theyll combine your order shipping if you accidentally make 2 purchases etc. also its really solid.

also, i think one huge issue with calibration is it doesnt snap the gun to both hands, and the issue with that is, the gun moves to the grip position when pressing the grip aka tilting it anyways, it doesnt snap the grip to the guns calibrated position.... a huge oversight.

i got a kx100 2011, compared to a 250 from the late 90s, its definately got way more low end torque, when its properly maintained, been sitting for awhile, its hard not to take off in a wheelie.

They're all designed to do something.

You need to prioritize things you want, like stiffness, sling types, cheek rest, how easy it is to get on and off, etc

Not really sure how this. Thread works but I got the glistco magni stock+. its my My first stock so I have nothing to compare it to but it's working pretty good. I guess. I mean I'm getting better at it. I wish I Was better at setting it up. I just kind of wing it. I'm sure there's a better way of fine tuning it. Seems like my biggest Challenge is getting it to be in the same position with one hand as it is when You add the second hand. Like when you grab it with your second hand and it pulls the gun way down and off to the sides and you have to adjust. Again Kinda tough when you're trying to use a Magnified scope

It's definitely a good design and one a few Gunstock company's have gone with so it's no surprise. Also Calabration in GoT isn't the best right now, they're working on a Virtual Gunstock that will help with the Physical Gunstocks in game they just haven't released it yet. So I'd say turn on and off the current Virtual Gunstock setting and see how that feels.

Actually it was the sanlaki that gave me the idea.I just wanted a more affordable way. Started messing around on Tinkercad designing my own version. First one failed miserably!😂 Scraped the whole design. Came up with this (although not as fancy) and works great. Printed a few for family and friends, and sold a few on FB Marketplace.

so i could use some help making the best of my q pro purchase and i couldhelp someone that wants the pro controllers. i bought the $300 controlers for my q 2 then My girlfriend bought me the quest pro. honestly My pro was working fine. Playing into the radius. I'm not sure if it's when I started playing got but I'm having that problem where I had to turn my contrast all the way down just to see. Because the dark. Areas of the game just got Too dark to see. No idea what changed. But anyway I got the Glistco magni + and its good but it sounds like there better. i have my extra pro controllers id trade maybe for another gunstock and some help making this $1000 dollar meta "amature" work as good as the q2 i gave to the neighbor kid because they don't have a lot of money And how could Pancake lenses and Supposedly Better processor not Be better than the $300 one. Thanks a lot mark suckerberg. I better go. I gotta grab my gunstock and Headset and go get someserious workroom and horizon time in.

My gunstock is not aligned with the game and its the only shooter with that problem... i play plavlov, breachers, contractors... and they all work fine. Is there a way to fix this?

If you've used the physical gunstock calibration in Tabor and are finding the gunstock not aligning properly in game, then I would recommend just disabling the physical gunstock setting for now.

While iver personally not had any issues with the physical gunstock calibration, its a pretty common issue right now and pretty widely agreed, physical calibration is broken at the moment.

Oh so your having issues before setting up gunstock calibration. Yeah so if you go into settings, there is a Calibrate Physical Gunstock option that allows you to calibrate your gunstock position for each type of gun (kind of similar to Contractors)

It’s not that the quest pro isn’t better, but games are not being made or optimized for quest pro. It will be years before games truly look or are made better for the quest 3 and even quest pro

Quest pro is obviously better specs and hardware and everything than the Q2 but that doesn’t always translate too better looks and such because of how games are made and optimized. It’s the same reason backwards compatible games don’t just look better on new stuff. It’s the equivalent of playing ps3 or ps4 games on your PS5 it’s not always gonna look better

And surprisingly enough, Q3 will run games better than QPro. Pro will really only work it if your using your headset for more than gaming. Cause it’s not really a gaming vr headset. It was build more for workspace primary and gaming as a secondary with them trying too push xr

Exactly this, Quest Pro obviously has great specs, but so much of it comes down to optimization and software, and Quest Pro just was never intended to be a gaming headset, but rather a productivity headset, not to mention the low adoption rate of the device due to the price point,

means that developers have no real incentive or reason to optimize specifically for the Quest Pro, so you wont be seeing any major graphical or performance improvements for most games, over games that have been specifically optimized for Q2.

Not to mention Q2 v55 update brings that nice beefy GPU performance bump, which will be very nice. Im hoping it'll help the Tabor Island map run better, if not just alittle lol

Especially with the fact that they plan too support Q2 along with Q3 for the years so games will still be optimized for the Q2 for years to come until it’s on day discontinued because of the amount of people that can’t afford the 500 for Q3 or 1000 for QPro

There was a whole AMA with the lead Quest Project guy and he answered so much and was explaining it all how it will be better for gaming obviously Q3 is gonna be built for XR aswell, but Q3 is pretty much just a QPro but a focus on gaming over workplace

And it doesn’t have too be as powerful as the QPro too still match it if they implement stuff that makes performance and such better on games for the Q3

Q2 is still gonna be main for a year or 2 atleast, until Meta incentives developers to make Q3 games

I am not sure I understand. When I turn this on, it grabs and doesn't let go until I press the button again. Forcing me to do an extra move with my fingers and the gun stock I use. Is there anything else different with this option other then grab changing to toggle?

thank you guys . i think that gives me a better understanding. basicaly The number of people that have quest twos and the millions. And when it comes to the pro we're talking thousands. so there's far more Monetary value and making games for the quest two and quest three still. Because of that price tag. So I'd be Better off. If I could get somebody that wanted the pro. and sell it for enough to get the q 3 and Not look at it as a loss. Of money. But More just getting what I wanted. How do I explain the dark? It was fine when I first bought it. Everything looked really as it did on the Q two. Then 1 day I don't know what changed but all of a sudden I was playing into the radius and I couldn't see anything without adding light.. I'm playing the game. And the flashlight may light it up but even when I'm right next to things. They're just toodark. PFor example. The Rail car in into the radius where you buy and sell goods. On the side of the room where You buy guns its lit up but on the repair side Which has the same ceiling lighting. The whole half of the car is dark.. no pun. intended but The difference was night and day. what was also odd is Before I turn to the contrast all the way down so I can see. It would be dark if I look the head but if I look down the light whole lighting would change and it get even darker. When i First Ghosts of Tabor. And you start in the Tutorial I could see nothing. Barely the lights. Ground and When the Guy telling you. What to do? Lit up. I can see him. But over by the shotgun I couldn't see the gun gun loader nothing. Turn the contrast all the way down and it lights up. But It's strange because It's don't really get nighttime aMore but in silo without night vision very difficult to see And i know it's supposed to be hard to see in the dark but There's just something about it that Obviously not right.

On the plus side I bought it on app Lab. Playing it natively. And it works really good. I get bugs, I spawn into the game every now and then without my main gun or I crash. My backpack might start spinning. But It runs the game Great , It just seems weird that I have to turn the contrast all the way down like that. And that it just started doing it 1 day. I was wondering. If I were to get a Good laptop I've been looking at Some aliens and lenovo with 7.1 proccessors 16 gig gpu mem on dedicated cards for about $2000Wish I could use some Amazon credit. I have irresponsibly, but it would at least fulfill. A computer need as well. If that Would Be advantageous at all. Running PC. Are on The pro Or if it really wouldn't be any better because like you said they're making the games to use the specs of the q2 because More people have it. Which makes sense.

the stock keeps your hands a set distant apart, That does nothing for Aim in VR. The aim will always be taken from one point of view ie left or right eye/hand . Having a stock makes you think its better but it does absolutely nothing to contribute to aim

i disagree with this. it does help quite alot. My hands shake and using a stock helps keep me aiming on the target especially at distances
the amount of people that have gotten my stock or just any stock and say that it has benefited them is quite large. if it didnt really help then there would be almost 0 market for them.

yes you are correct that it does only use one eye but having a stock allows your gun to act like a rigid body that is always going to be straight

I think your objectively wrong, its not a waste of money if the person spending the money feels it helps them. There's a common thread I hear from users as a gunstock maker myself, that they "shaky hands", to what extent that means I cant say. My brother-in-law for example, has done landscaping his whole life and from years of using chainsaws and weed wackers his hands are pretty shaky.

But what he tells me, and so do the other individuals ive heard from on here, is that having a gunstock of some kind helps them steady their aim. Which otherwise is hard for them without the physical gunstock connecting the two controllers.

But there are solutions to making one regardless of how low budget, and they are far easier than you seem to think.
For 45$ you can join a maker space, print the STL files, and have enough left over for materials and a class.

Best way is probably to hop into game and pick up a gun in your bunker, leave the screws just loose enough that you can adjust. It'll likely be a combination of pointing the front half down a little but it really depends on the overall stock and if its also adjusted at the actual stock part as well

It'll still vary gun to gun a bit too unless you want to brave the somewhat difficult gun calibration

I had an older model Glistco without the mid point adjustment and could get it pretty close to most of the guns so you should be able to get it well set up with the adjustment option

Yeah I have a Protube with the Forcetube recoil stock, and I love it. My reasons: I learned to shoot as a kid with an actual gun and holding controllers with nothing attaching them feels so weird to me in VR. I have disposable income and it's not expensive for me. It's hella fun.

Just played with it; it was a pretty horrible experience. When you finish the calibration, you can't hold any gun in that instance. So you have to go to the market/back to hideout and see if it calibrated correctly.

i have tried a few and depending on the material. print temp and other factors mounts that are supposed to be pretty close to the controller without a lot of wiggle room may or may not work. print temp has a large impact on things that need to be pretty accurate

It’s hard to say without seeing a prototype. A solid place to start with for products is x2 your overhead costs, and that’s including labor for assembly. Take that number and see where that puts you in relation to your competitors, then determine if your product offers more, or less than theirs and adjust your price accordingly

Also a couple of notes that will hopefully give you a head start in your prototyping! The reoccurring issue with the bottom-attaching gunstocks is they can block the infrared lights in the quest 2 controller ring, the headset tracking does best when there’s a direct line of sight to the entire ring. I had this issue personally with the sinlaki stock but that thing had a solid metal bar between the controller and headset so maybe 3d plastic will work a lot better!

Main reason i posted was to get ideas from others, Im pretty confident in my 3d design and printing ability, but being that my using a vr and there lights and infered stuff that ive never used just thought id see what other have experianced.

For quest you're going to need a method that connects below the controllers. For index that will probably work fine. Will definitely need vertical adjustment.
What is your length of pull?
and I personally would rather a stiffer more durable stock than one that breaks into two pieces, but that's just me. Would it be possible to have a length adjust rather than the break?

Im planning on doing multiple sizes that are adjustable for smg's, ar, sniper etc... i plan to have them all split so you have quick acces to your pistol and other things quickly, durability will not change rather it be a full body or a split body.

I hope that answers some questions, there is some stuff im trying to keep too myself atm, that i will have to go over with my partners tomorrow. Ill try to have a answer too most things this weekend after the first prototype build in finished

My concern is less for durability and more rigidity. I, and anyone using a 2 point sling, would be putting pretty high lateral force on the thing, as well as allot of force pulling back towards the shoulder. If it flexes or dissassembles under those conditions, it becomes less desirable.

I understand completely where you are coming from with the force it will take or even how flexable it will be put in high stress areas, i would like to give you an answer to that but i cant being my stand point with the build. But that will be one of the main focol points i look for with doing test trials in game with it.

length of pull will proabably be a custom section in the ordering sector of the item, i would truly like to make it a comfortable item to be held by anyone rather you be 4' or even 7' tall.

Thats actual a really good stand point i never even thought of, the factor of a sling on the rifle itself is a completely dfferent thing i dont know how to fix at the moment. Ill have to do some thinking on that, because the rifles stand point right now doesnt allow for a sling at all.

Heavier or lighter is a design choice. Heavy lends itself to precision, decreasing micro movements and deadening your jitter. It also makes snap shots slower, makes people tired faster, and makes holding an angle for a long duration difficult.

Just received the sanlaki mini gunstock. It doesnt Look fancy but its just essentially doing what it supposed to do without sacrificing your freedom of movement. And that extra weight adds also more immersion to pistols

You eventually get used to the weight but it helps if you want to pretend for immersion's sake.

One thing that doesn't get mentioned much is that the hand straps are pretty high quality and feels nice to wear, which helps with dealing with the extra weight.

The SKS doesn't even work in a no-stock setup lol. That gun specifically, for some reason, just doesn't like to track properly.

Its better than it was in previous updates, but still has issues.

hey can someone help i’m not for sure what channel to go into but, when i was playing ghost of tabor i was about to go on a raid and i laid my stuff down on the floor and it was two book bags with a bunch of stuff in them then we went on the raid and it was gone when i came back is there a way to get it back??

Nope im afraid its all gone, once you load in/out of a raid or the safe house, whatever is not on your person or in your hands, will despawn.

so how are you going to reload or grab and use a med or anything?

oh those are little cups the controllers sit in, do you have plans to have it 'broken" in the center or just remove the controllers from the little cups

if you look at some of the plastic models there's a spilt inbetween the controllers to allow for free movement of the controllers individually. Then when they're placed together to touch they're held with magnet tips to assist

well if you want to reload you have to let go and all the weight will be on your right hand at the back, having the end of the stick in your chest would help take some of that weight off your right hand

there's a reason most of them are made with light, hollow plastics aside from price

I think your current setup is better, but you might want to replace those cardboard tubes with something that won't fold if you hit the edge trying to put the controller back in at some point. Maybe a pvc pipe

depends on how deep the controller is in the cup

you could have just the bottom under your pinky fingers in the cup for stabilization

Then you wouldn’t have a good grip on the pipe to actually hold the stock, unless you have magnets or something to hold the controllers in place

yea that's what it seems most stocks try to make, which is what makes this stick option a bit sticky

it's an interesting design but you'll learn what needs changing as you use it

pvc pipes are already hollow so the magnets can be fitted and glued, you could put a hollow cap on the two ends of the stick that touch and put a magnet inside the cap

maybe electric tape over it so the magnets aren't difficult to separate

it's just a thought based on the break version of gunstocks I've noticed though, I'm new to the gunstock myself.

I think there are some pvc tutorial videos and such but it should be easy to do and even cheap to do with pvc pipe and some tape

I’ve heard of some people heating the pvc pipe w a heat gun (maybe boiling water would work too) and while it’s soft putting the controller in and molding the hot pvc to its shape

And yah wear some gloves and don’t burn your hand! But some (maybe all idk) pvc pipe is made to be molded that way so it shouldn’t be too bad
