Wipes are tied to development progress right now and need to be done to reduce bugs, change progression, change items that are being overhauled and such.
They want to reduce wipes or get rid of them in the future, but currently they can't.
PvE for now will need to wipe as well, as next few changes will be quite big (mission rebalances and changes, island expansion) so for now we are stuck with that.

It's not true that it happens in most games, most games really don't need to wipe the progress usually. It's just a thing that has been done with extraction shooters so the devs don't need to make extra effort to not do it here. If needed, skill trees and such can be easily overhauled without wiping fucking everything, but it does take extra care and coding and effort. Usually everything gets wiped before official game launch so that people don't have that bugged progression and carry it to official game.

Some have success with that however, but it's like huge overhaul of all systems and then everything gets wiped, and definately before people spent money on it. On Quest 2 graphics are scaled down, so it can be run inside the vr headset, what is an amazing accomplishment. On Quest 3 standalone things are scaled up however.. All in all, people with a lousy graphic card PCVR, compared to a monster graphic card thing... yeah, you see the thing... This is not a mobile game yet tho..

Wasnt it Quest 2 compared to Quest 3?`The difference matters if both are standalone versions. If it's both PCVR, it then depends on the graphic card and what gen memory, and so on. If that is the same, it shouldnt be much difference between Quest 2 and Quest 3, except for the lenses, and their type and resolution. I just cant understand why people dont have a computer. Arent we all gamers, or is this the first game people have ever played except tetris and minesveiper?
