The main issue with managing that is that it's extremely hard to prove that someone is doing that intentionally, before the raid.
GoT is kinda unforgiving game in that sense though so it manages itself mostly. Usually however games like this have something in ToS against that kind of behaviour.

If you are coming in Ghosts of Tabor discord and are asking if you should buy a game, you are most likely only considering buying it because of Combat Waffle affiliation to that game and thus you are not considering buying the game on it's own merit alone. However, if you wanted to support Combat Waffle, you should not ask and just buy that game.
With that I conclude that you are either not qualified enough or invested enough to vote with your wallet for the Combat Waffle expansionism, that the title represents at this current time, so you should withhold your vote for now at least.

Honestly they still need to nerf their sight/awareness because they can hear me behind them from a mile away

Generally they really do not. They can hear you something like 10, maybe 20 meters away as you run, provided they are turned away.
That said there are a couple scavs that have their line of sight broken and it's not really in the direction that they are turned or it's way too wid. Several of the Island ones are like that, so the 2 at Lighthouse and one behind the labs. All others observe their well...line of sight...no pun intended.

Once they are alerted however, their line of sight increases dramatically and you can't say hide inside tree anymore.

The ones at the roadblock on island have insane hearing, so could that be one of the bugged ones?

That said, their alertness also can be different. Say if you run and then they see you, but you don't shoot back and hide inside a tree - they will stop aggro and return to calm state.
Once you shoot however, it's all aggro all the time.

The ones patrolling the road are fine in my experience, but they do patrol and turn around a lot.

Meta has it's own problems because of how bad Meta is compared to Steam. If you plan to play PCVR only, like me, I would still buy it on Steam. Steam is also a more secure platform with outlook to future. If you plan to use standalone, you will have to bite the bullet though and buy it on Meta.

• You can't track time played or have other basic features like that, that PC gamers are used to on Steam

Before I look at the video, it matters. That scope is zeroes on 100 meters so before that you need to aim lower, after that you need to aim higher. Bullet drop matters even at 100 meters depending on gun and scope you use.

only insured items return so whatever you did not insure, even if it's inside the backpack, would not return.
As mentioned, for the most part the bug bugs right now, but it's no 100% and should not be relied on and eventually that will get patched.
If you are in dire straits and know you can't survive, you can just force-close the game in solo PvE to get the stuff back in 24h

Also to note, that only works in solo mode, if you are in a squad with someone else, then a proper server gets created on CW side and force-closing the game won't be treated as server crash anymore
