Because you are saying that tarkov couldn't get their shit together and do some updates without wiping everything. This is not tarkov. Clearly most everything can be changed without a wipe. With some changes a wipe is still wanted if the progression has changed and works differently now, but it's in no way required. It's absolutely needed for PvP because that's the only way to really balance the game with current servers where you can't choose difficulty and where people are not being matchmade based on their level or gear or anything.

Again, just like with game DLC and editions, it's just stuff devs came up with and are running with, not something that couldn't be done differently if necessary. And since PvE is not competetive game mode in any capacity and is largely ignored to a point where some systems just don't even detec your PvE progression, there can be reasons to not wipe PvE or wipe it much rarer than PvP.

I get the loot from purple I go to docs there’s a kid behind me.
