I will disagree. Dropping weapons and backpack on floor is safer.
If you holster your weapon, it still can sometimes go through the wall when unholstering. Can't happen if you just set it on the floor and then pick it up.
Same can happen with backpacks pretty much.
If you need something placed somewhere temporarily, floor is the safest places. Any other object may cause geometry collision with your backpack or the gun, which can cause it either fly up in the air and land god knows where, or just go through the ground.

What you do not want to drop on the floor is your mag before the game had registered that you have removed it from your gun. That's when the mag sometimes can pull your gun down and out of your hands and then inside ground.

Yeah, it's an issue with quest designs.
Any collect objective removes the Found in Raid status from the item.
Any turn-in objective requires the item to be Found in Raid and have that status.
Effectively, every time a single quest has both of those objectives for an item, it means that you need to find double the items.

I was watching the AMA and Scott clearly intends to make the game more complex still, the thought has not been dropped. Jamming weapons, more extensive healing, probably more expansive bleeding and stuff like that coming in the future too.

I am very sceptical that any of that will help to retain the players or get more new players. I think the game's complexity is in a good spot where it is now - easy to get in, understand and just have fun. They have to be found in raid, check your watch for a white checkmark when you pick them up. Do note that items collected for collect quest lose FIR ststus.
