Switch struggles to run the game but there're a couple things that help. Never use a SD card with DDV. I take mine out completely to play, but first move everything on internal possible to SD so that DDV is the only thing on internal storage, then always play with the SD unslotted. Also make sure to never leave the game suspended for long periods of time, and to fully shut down switch regularly.

You need the seeds in your bag. The quest checks them off the list when you get them, but it does not remove the check if you lose them. So make sure you have 5 wheat seeds and 5 sugarcane seeds in your bag to give to walle

If you have them unlocked in the main valley then you need to unlock all biomes in the expansions and then they can be paced in their expansion under the house tab in furniture mode

I'm originally a switch player, purchased the game and eternity isles before deciding I wanted to switch to PC and bought original, ei, and SR and transferred my cloud save.

My kid now plays on the switch on her profile. I cleared the save data so that i wouldn't have to worry about her overwriting my cloud save, but I can't figure out how to restore the ei dlc

It doesn't work this way. You can't give your old profile. You need to leave your profile in tact, with your save attached, and the switch set as your primary console then create the kid their own account. Then they can play without purchasing anything and your save won't be wrecked.

Are you saying if I bring my cloud save back over to the switch she could have ei on her profile? Or either way i have to buy the dlc per profile

The DLC is shared with all profiles on the consoles as long as the player ID and account that owns it has the switch set as their primary console. You aren't supposed to be able to remove your player ID from an account though, so if you somehow managed to get your profile to show a different player ID than your game, you may already have messed it up too bad to correct

It's not supposed to vary. If your holes are filling in soon or late you need to make note of the exact time and where the holes were located to let the devs know in a bug report.

I literally was trying to let them close up because I was wanting to rearrange & it took like 3 or 4 days before they filled in.

Holes that have shards in them last, because they are different. But regular holes are supposed to always be 24 hrs. So like I said if it happens again make note and file a bug report.

I find that fully powering down the PS4 each day keeps DDV happy on mine, you may want to also unplug it for at least 5min every so often to clear temps.

Need to check all your main houses in all DLCs you own too, then if still don't find it you have to check every additional house you have placed on every map

Regrettably there isnt a fix for this if reloading doesnt work. You can restore a manual backup if you made one before that quest, wait for a dev fix, or start the game over.

Your c drive is really important for how well your PC will run. You have to have the right size for your needs and also a solid state is preferable.

Anytime you can't find a character the steps are always the same. Go to an island and enable them, if they don't show up it means they are inside somewhere. If their portrait shows in the house they are in their house, sometimes have to go in and out as many as 20+ times to get them to show up when they are stuck in their house. If they aren't in their house they are either eating, shopping, or somewhere else for an active quest.

Search your furniture inventory for the word portal in case you put it away. If it doesn't come up in the results, then it's so where in the forgotten lands or surrounding biomes. Pull out a bed and drag the bed over the ground in forgotten lands paying attention to when it turns red. Normal trees turn yellow as they can be placed over, but the portal tree turns red.

Ah, that's because once again the GL coding was made of spaghetti. 🙂 The prevailing theory is that the update was pushed back a week, which pushed the event back a week, but GL forgot to change the internal coding that told the timer and spawns when to start. So it "started" on the day they originally planned it, but they have always told us Sept 3. When things started spawning, they promptly turned it off and removed the event. It will be back next week.

Manually, unfortunately. The floating islands have a reset button but I don't believe that the valley floor does. If it does, when you're in furniture mode, it will tell you what button to press.

Hi I've been fishing for crabs for 2 days. I need two crabs for Nala's Quest i've restarted the game restarted the system. Even waited about 5 hours so that hopefully they can spawn in frosted Heights but to no avail is there any advice you guys can give to make crabs spawn besides the fishing magical potion

The fishing potion will not help as crabs come from blue bubbles. Just fish out all the bubbles so blue ones can spawn and you can fish them.

Like right now I am really focusing on completing dreamlight duties to earn 9k so I can unlock aladdin. Others focus on the decor aesthetic areas. Others focus on the challenges. It just all depends on what kind of goal you have

There are some biomes that have multiple snippet spawns. I believe Fallen Fortress is the only Everafter biome with demons. The rest should give the correct color frog for the biome (+ birds in wild woods) or shadow snips.

The addition of the shadowy snippets to the lures in the last update has certainly affected the number of other snippets I get each trip around the Vale. I can get well over a 100 shadow demon snippets + pretty much a full stack of the the other two shadowy snippets each time, so other types don't appear as often

Here's the latest rounds of mining testing that shows where the best biomes for getting the various items are. These are averages, be aware. Mining nodes respawn after 5 minutes, so with some dedicated mining, you can get some decent ore stashed for ingots.

You need to chase them like you do the rabbits - they like to play tag! So just walk up and chase them - not too close, but not too far either. They should run 3x and then let you feed them.

What platform on PC? If you used the cloud save to transfer, it should be the same game with the same "stuff", you will not be able to travel to any DLC that you had on Xbox if you are using Steam or Epic on PC and did not purchase the DLC for them.

1. Untrack the quest so it isn't showing on screen.

2. Save the game and fully close the game.

5. Go back to the realm through the dream castle (not fast travel) and search again.

I can’t find 1/3 of my cobwebs during my joy level 4 quest. All 4 of the nondescript potions had room to spawn inside Merlin’s dreamlight library, but since the ground is full of yellow memory shards from last memory mania, there was no room for the 2 books+cobweb obstacles to spawn. I found 2 of them in the forgotten lands (despite the fact that his library is currently placed in the library of lore in SV), and can’t find the other - any reports of where it might be? I can’t even tell if it has spawned in DV or somewhere else - the obstacles didn’t impact my valley object counts before or after removal.

Honestly, there's not a lot of crossover between critter likes. I found that getting what I needed for each one and putting it in a vintage chest which I could pick up and put down as needed worked well - that way it wasn't in my bag taking up space.

For the rift critters, you're best off feeding faves for memory orb chances. Unless they changed it, liked foods have a lower chance of resulting in an orb (just like with sunbirds in the main valley)

Looks like for the rest of the main valley and for the vale, its a 33% chance of a memory regardless of fave or liked

Well, like I said, there is unfortunately not a lot of crossover between what the critters all like. Some like meals but they're going to be different - monkeys like desserts, and the pegasi might but they have to be veggie based and I don't think there's a lot of veggie based desserts. You're just going to have to test things out and see what they will and will not accept.

If you are logging in, the chest is spawning. You just aren't finding it. They no longer have a set spawn timer. And now that furniture can go at an angle, that includes the chests, which means they have gotten particularly good at hiding under bushes and behind homes. Your best option is to use furniture mode to slowly look completely around each biome.

It would certainly be handy, but alas, only rarely does it show up near there. I usually find mine once I've been running around for a while - seems to take a bit after you log in for it to show. And I never seem to find the others until I find one, and then the second one will show in a spot I've already looked. They seem to have really messed with the spawns for these.

During the quest "The Fortress of Sadness", I placed the pillow fortress incorrectly and I cannot place the Pillow of Sadness nearby. Would it be possible to put the items back in my inventory so I can place them elsewhere, or how can I restart the quest ?

!support You cannot restart the quest and this is unfortunately an issue for a lot of folks - including myself. I was able to revert to my backup save, so if you made one of those (they are manual, not the cloud save) you can do that. Otherwise, you might need to contact support and ask them to send you the quest item.

If it does not, then it's likely a quest item - one you've picked up that needs to be placed and picked up again.

ceiling textures are for everyone, it's a new thing they added.

And like I said, if it didn't, then it's a quest item - you'll need to go find it and pick it up. Or it's one you picked up that wasn't part of a collection and now is, so you will need to figure out what it is and put it down, then pick it back up to register it properly and clear that dot.

The wiki will have a list of changes that have been made, including to collections, that might help.

Yup, because that's the first one. I'm not talking about opening up your collections tab in-game. I mean, you will need to open your furniture mode and see what you can find. Try sorting by newest and putting that item down. Check the wiki and see what changes were made to the various collections and put those items down, see if that clears it. Let me find you the link to the most current changes.

No, I completely understand - you have a red dot. It keeps opening to the aladdin tab when you click on this page. This page will not help you clear that red dot. You will need to go into actual furniture mode, find the item that is causing it, put it down, and pick it back up to register that it is now in the correct universe - a lot of quest items didn't have a universe and now they do.

Your options are look at the wiki page I listed, scroll to the bottom, and see what changes were made to the collections tabs. Follow them, put down and pick up the items or if they are already down, pick them up. You can go to your actual furniture mode tab and click all and scroll through everything. You can go to the furniture mode tab, sort by newest, and see if that works (but if it's an older item, that won't help so much).

Unique items placed during a quest cause the dot like that. What quests did you do recently? Some common culprits for eternity isle would be the train tracks/trolley for Oswald, the big electric rod thingy for Jafar, Gaston's weight bench, etc etc

Make sure you open furniture mode in your house, there are categories you can only see when in the furniture mode inside your house.

So far everyone has been able to fix their red dot by finding the placed item causing it. When you open the collection, it automatically jumps to the new item. When it doesn't jump to the new item it means it can't jump to the new item because that item is something you only have one of and you have it placed somewhere. Once you find it and pick it up, the dot will clear. Always be sure also just in case to check the ToM menus, as well as clicking the door in your house and choosing replace to bring up the door menu to mouse over all the doors

It only means inside the dream castle, it's a random spawn for all players, so it can be a where in the castle. Make sure to carefully search around the stairs, including behind the stairs like where the secret room is, and on each side of all the stairs going up and around the pillars and fountain

The Big Pond in Peaceful Meadows. I was testing to try and place him on the River Kit because a lot of people have said it works and for some reason when I was testing it it glitched and his house disappeared and now it's back in the house Menu and wont let me put in back down. I've even went to but him back on the Beach and it just sends him right back to the House Menu.

Hm. Well. On the bright side, yours didnt get stuck on the river kit. On the not so bright side, sounds like they havent fully fixed the issue. Thats probably going to need a dev fix. You can fix it immediately if you have a manual backup from prior to putting it on the river kit.

1. Untrack the quest so it isn't showing on screen.

2. Save the game and fully close the game.

3. Launch the game again and enter the game.

4. Open your quest log and track the quest again by clicking on it, so that it shows again on the top corner of the screen.

5. Go back to the realm through the dream castle (not fast travel) and search again.

When you open collections it automatically goes to the new item. If it doesn't, that means the item is placed and you have to find it. Make sure you open furniture in your house and check ceiling first because they added those with the update. But after that, it's usually caused by unique items placed during the completion of a quest. If it's in valley the collection it was a valley quest, like the Alice unbirthday table or the jack dreamlight day banner, for eternity isle think Gaston weight bench, Oswald trolley, for Vale the aurora banners, the library bell. These are all just examples of items placed during a quest. If you pick up the correct item, the dot will clear.

The item causing your red dot is already placed somewhere, all you have to do is find it and pick it up. It will be a unique quest item.

Think about the quests you did recently, anything you placed during the completion of a quest. It will be something that you do not have more of. Like the statues for Nala, the pillow fort, the fairytale table for godmother, the microphone tree to spy on Gothel/scrooge, things like that

Please help understand this..these new companion dreamlight duties..for OG's ifkyk uggh but the gardening one is so confusing, there is no specific gardening companion, they either drop grain, veggies, or fruit. So if I have a pumpkin patch, which one do I use? Do we have to keep switching them out with every crop? do they all count towards gardening? WHICH one counts for pumpkins? For an OG who done countless duties, this is a grind, more grindy then any and with only a chance for a drop.

For gardening you use rabbits.

Pumpkins are a veggie, so rabbits.
Fruit is mostly on trees and bushes, although both Rift and SBV have ones that can be planted, so squirrels.

No grind, just take them with you while you do everything. Just like villagers, they level up off everything, just get more XP for what they do and will only toss bonuses at level 4+ on their assigned skill

I have done everything, I have storage full of these and I have done the other dreamlight duties, so there is no more natural game play to do these, farms are decorations now.. I have cooked everything.. To get it done, I have to do it all over and over again. There is only 1 companion that drops grains, is sugar cain sweets? and is that go towards gardening level? I have level 5 companions to do these, I have workd hard to get there and now this added. It ia fine for newer players for me it sems like a grind because I have already done thse things ten fold. I am willing to because the completionist in me drives me, lolol. THE NEW DREAMLIGHT COMPANION duties though if you harvest grains, you only get the drop you need with companion that drops grains and there is only 1 that does. Rabbits don't drop for grains, only veggies and the drop rate is just luck.

This isn't about regular gardening, this is for the NEW dreamlight duties with companions...

Sugar cane is a sweet, yes. And again, they will level up on anything you do, just like villagers.

And yes I know what you're talking about. The bonuses are a bit of a pain, I know. This is not just for newbies, it's to give us veteran players something to work towards as well, when we already have everything done!

The tasks for bonuses are specific. The gardening one says collect bonus vegetables from companions. This means use rabbits. The unique bonuses that special critters have are not required for the tasks.

I already have them leveled up.. the new duty is for getting drops by a companion so a rabbit won't give a drop if you harvest wheat, you have to use one that drops grains and there is only 1. Then if you harvest veggies you have to switch to one that will hopefully drop for veggies. I have farmed so much honestly it feels like a real repetitive grind in HOPEs for a drop and we need 400 drops. NEW crops or things to do with it but it doesn't fill like it gives me something to do, just repetitive work. Just trying to figure out the most efficient way to do this that doesn't seem so grindy. I hope that makes more sense. LIke the flowers, I have tons of flowers and they take a while to respawn in HOPES of a drop, I have playes so long now that since I have done all the flower picking I have decorated now and now have to ruin it all to pick flowers? It isn't just gardening, it is mining, fishing and picking fruit. It all seems real repetetive now and it takes so long.

i know, it says get companion drops for gardening, you are saying use rabbit but rabbits don't drop for wheat only veggies. You said only use rabbits for gardening but if I am harvesting wheat it says only a baby pegasus drops grains and rabbits drop veggies. WE need to drops to count for the duty.

The task for gardening says to collect bonus VEGETABLES from your companion.

Which is why you use rabbits for it.
